Chapter 425 - Could he be any more unlucky?

Name:My Beautiful Love Author:Avalorian_
Lu Aotian understood her. She thought she could be pregnant. "You can take a test at the hospital in a while."

Though he was still doubtful. What was the probability actually?

Lu Aotian had a reason to be doubtful.

Just recently, he had found out that one of the chefs at his villa had been bought out to add long term contraceptive drugs in her food.

One of his enemies in business had done it.

Although he had already dealt with the chef and that person, the effects were most likey yet to be worn off. He had not told her about it to avoid making her anxious. It happened because he was careless, so he should be only one feeling guilty about it. He wouldn't let his wife bear the pain and self-blame.

But as a result of those contraceptives, it wasn't likely that she would be pregnant this soon.

"Is it because you don't trust Qian Li?" She asked, reffering to his dismissive tone.

Lu Aotian didn't want her to misunderstand. It had nothing to do with Qian Li. Although they no longer had anything to do with the Qians, some facts couldn't be changed. "It's not about him. It just came at an awkward time."

Wan Jia agreed with this. It was the weirdest timing ever.

If she was actually pregnant, then her unborn baby was the most unlucky child on earth.

Not only did he have to be concieved because of unfortunate circumstances, the news of his existence also had to come at such a time. Could he be any more unlucky?

"We're here." Lu Aotian said.

Although their daughter had been rushed to hospital, he hadn't driven too fast. He doubted Qian Li's observation, but was still cautious in case she was actually pregnant. He wouldn't want to hurt her and their unborn baby.

Leaving the car, they went to Little Jia's hospital room. Doctor Qiao had already told him where to find her.

In the VIP hospital room, the little girl was still asleep. Her even breathing was soothing to her anxious parents.

"Baby," Wan Jia called softly and touched her daughter's little hand.

Although the little girl didn't respond to her, she held Wan Jia's hand in her sleepy state.

Wan Jia felt reassured. If her baby could feel her presence, it meant that she was alright and would wake up soon.

After staying in Little Jia's hospital room for a while, Lu Aotian hugged her. "You should go to rest. Little Jia will be fine, and I'll take care of her."

Wan Jia wanted to stay longer but she was actually tired. "Then I'll rest here."

She wasn't going to leave without her baby.

Lu Aotian knew that she couldn't possibly leave, so he agreed.

"I'll buy food for the both of you. Little Jia will be awake soon."

Wan Jia nodded.

...

Just a short while after Lu Aotian left, Little Jia slowly opened her eyes.

She looked around in a daze and spotted her mother drifting off beside her.

Not wanting to disturb her sleep, she did not call her out.

But, Wan Jia felt her restrained movements. "Baby, you're awake."

Little Jia broke into a smile. "Mommy!"

Wan Jia took her small body into her arms.

"Mommy, it hurts." Little Jia said, referring to the IV that was almost running out.

Wan Jia knew that it probably just bothered her. "I'll ask the nurse to take it off in a while, okay?"

Little Jia pouted. "Those aunties in white? Mommy, I don't like them. They will pierce people with those painful needles."

She grabbed onto her mother, as though seeking protection.

"Baby, be good. They only do that to make you feel better."

Little Jia couldn't understand just how someone could make you feel better by inflicting pain on your innocent little hands, but since her mother said so, it had to be true. "Yes mommy."

She looked around curiously. "Mommy, where is Daddy?"

Lu Aotian arrived just as Little Jia asked about him. "I'm here princess. Daddy went to get you and mommy something to eat."

Seeing her father, she cheered up and stretched out her little arms. "Daddy, hug."

Lu Aotian placed the dishes on the table aside, then went ahead to hug her. "How does it feel? Are you still scared?"

Little Jia shook her small head. "Not scared at all. Daddy saved me in time, right?"

Lu Aotian simply rubbed her back. Saved her in time? Not at all. He had rushed over but still found his daughter passed out. He had initially guessed that she was thrown out of the building by the impact, but saved?

Although he didn't want to remind her, he had to ask. "Did you see anything unusual?"

"Uh huh. Right after Daddy pulled me out through the door, a loud sound followed. Then Daddy disappeared. I almost thought that I had been pulled out by a strange uncle. Luckily I was with Daddy when I opened my eyes. I would be very scared."

Lu Aotian's expression darkened.

So that guy he met trying to check on Little Jia was really trying to kidnap her. Luckily, he had not let him off. He was going to punish him more severely.

Hugging and coaxing his daughter, he looked at Wan Jia. "We should have you take a test as soon as possible."

She understood him. If she was actually pregnant, the baby might have been shocked by her sudden vigorous movement while fighting a while ago.

She ate her food while Lu Aotian fed little Jia. He was not hungry himself but Wan Jia convinced him to eat a little.

After eating, Little Jia fell asleep again. They took the chance to have Wan Jia take the test.
