Chapter 263 - Speak for yourself

Name:My Beautiful Love Author:Avalorian_
"Princess you..." Lu Aotian was about to say something to the little girl but noticed that she suddenly looked pale. "What's wrong? Are you feeling unwell?"

"Daddy, Little Jia is very tired. I want to sleep."

She had played more than usual today. It was no surprise. Lu Aotian carried her onto his lap. "Sleep here for a while."

When they arrived at the Lin residence, the Lin family was waiting for them outside the mansion. They all had expectant expressions on their faces.

Lu Aotian got out of the car with the sleepy Little Jia in his arms. As soon as Wan Jia stepped out, Xia Rou rushed over. "Baby!"

"Mom, I missed you." Wan Jia hugged her mother warmly. She hugged her elder sister too.

For a reason she didn't understand, she did not feel as close to Lin Zhou as she did with Lin Lihua and Xia Rou. Still, she hugged him .

"My baby is asleep? I'll put her to sleep in my room." Lin Lihua suggested.

Xia Rou immediately glared at her. "You only know to fawn over your sister's daughter. Get married and bring me a grandchild to play with before I can allow you to play with my darling Little Jia." Although she was glaring at her, there was still love in her eyes as she reprimanded her eldest daughter.

Lin Zhou was on Xia Rou's side as usual. "My wife is right. You should get married and have your own kids before we can allow you to play with our darling Little Jia."

"..."

Did you have to say the exact same thing?

Daddy, can you not be such a wife slave?

Lin Lihua was unhappy. "Mr. and Mrs. Lin, the both of you only know to nag me. You nag me even when I'm minding my own business. Also, can you not publicly display your affection all the time? My little sister and I are not yet married. Leave us some leeway."

Wan Jia immediately retaliated. "Speak for yourself."

Lin Lihua did not understand her and thought she meant that she was engaged so they were not on the same boat.

"Fine. Little Jia and I are unmarried. We are not interested in men either so let us be."

Lu Aotian and Wan Jia exchanged glances. That may not be...a hundred percent accurate.

"Enough with your whining. Take your niece to your room to sleep for a while. Lu Aotian, Little Wan, quickly come in. Don't stand in the cold." Xia Rou glared at Lin Lihua  before pulling Wan Jia by her hand.

"Yes, you may catch a cold if you stand out for too long." The wife slave, Lin Zhou, was at it again.

Lu Aotian passed Little Jia to Lin Lihua and followed them in.

Xia Rou spoke again. "Little Wan, I cooked your and Little Jia's favourite shrimp. I also made a few pineaple buns.

"My wife..." Lin Zhou was going to speak again.

Lin Lihua who was on her way to her room interrupted him as she rolled her eyes. "Dad, we know. Your wife carefully selected all the ingredients to cook for them."

Wan Jia and Xia Rou laughed. Actually, what Lin Lihua said was exactly what he was going to say.

...

A short while later, Little Jia was awake from her nap.

They sat at the dining table to eat gladly.

Wan Jia took it as a chance to announce something.

"Mom, well..."

"Little Wan, do you have something to say?"

"Uh huh...it's good news."

As soon as she said that, Lin Lihua's, Lin Zhou and Xia Rou's eyes all flew towards her belly.

Wan Jia knew that she couldn't be pregnant but for some reason, their gazes gave her goosebumps.

She shook those thoughts out of her head. "Aotian and I got married."

As soon as she said that, Xia Rou droppee her cutlery. Her Little Wan was married?

"Congratulations!" She got up, went to her daughter's side and hugged her.

Lin Lihua and Lin Zhou did the same.

"You...didn't want a wedding?" Lin Lihua asked timidly. With her sister's personality, she was expecting a not-so-grand wedding.

Well, it wasn't mandatory. Although Wan Jia liked beautiful things, she had told Lin Lihua before that she would only have a wedding if Lu Aotian wanted it. She did not find it necessary herself.

While the women were deep into discussing whether to have a wedding or not, the men at the table, Lu Aotian and Lin Zhou, were exchanging glances. To be strict, they were exchanging glares.

If Wan Jia had grown up in the Lin residence, Lu Aotian would understand the rivalry between a husband and his father-in-law.

But she didn't, and she wasn't a tiny bit close to her father so Lu Aotian wondered; Why is Lin Zhou glaring at me?

...

After dinner, the Lu couple carried their tired daughter into the car. She had fallen asleep again. It made one wonder whether the little kids had gone into a battlefield in school.

When they arrived at Southside Villa, a certain annoying younger brother was waiting eagerly for them.

"Yo, Congratulations Mr. and Mrs. Lu. Bro, you are too mean. How could you not tell me that you got married? I had to find out about it from my subordinates."

Lu Aotian waited for Wan Jia to go upstairs to put Little Jia to sleep before turning to his brother. "Investigate Lin Zhou."

Lu Shaoting adjusted to the change of topic very fast. "Lin Zhou? The CEO of Lin Industries, the company that's on the verge of bankruptcy lately?"
