"Designer Wan is not here."

"What did you say?" Lu Aotian almost shouted out loud.

The CEO trembled as he explained, "I have just been informed that she has not yet arrived. The organizers know you are attending and they did not to want to offend you so they put her at the end."

While the CEO fearfully went on with his explanation, Lu Aotian took out his phone immediately and glanced at their last conversation. She had said that she was almost there. What happened?

They had not gone together because apart from not wanting to attract attention by arriving with him, she had been busy until the last minute and only left the office when she was done.

She had sent him a message to let him know that she had almost arrived.

However, now that he looked at it properly, there was something missing. She would always attach a heart emoticon to all her messages to him, which was absent in the message she sent earlier. Someone had used her phone!

He silently asked an organizer to instruct a cameraman to skim the audience.

No one noticed anything amiss. While the other cameras focused mainly on the T stage, one of them scanned the audience slowly as Lu Aotian watched the screen to the far left unblinkingly. He was looking for any suspicious persons and he found one!

He had thought that this woman would stay away from his wife since they fell out. Why on earth would she still seek trouble and try to sabotage her? Just how much do these people from the Yun family hate their lives?

Lu Aotian did not waste too much time and took advantage of the crowd's cheers to drag Yun Xuan out. He dragged her all the way into an alley.

"What do you want?" Yun Xuan was shocked by Lu Aotian's sudden actions.

The man glared at her. "Where is she?"

"W-who are you talking about?"

Lu Aotian intensified his glare. Yun Xuan felt her life leave her body. How could she ever forget how scary Lu Aotian was? She was perhaps more scare of him than she was scared of death.

"I...I really don't...I don't know what you're talking about." her voice was shaky and incoherent. Lu Aotian's sharp gaze was practically making her unable to even breath in fear that moving in the slightest would cost her her life.

"Yun Xuan, don't let me ask a second time." Every word sounded like a call from hell, as though she was being barnished to eternal darkness.

She found her voice amidst her chattering teeth. "Is...Is Wan Jia missing? I promise! I don't have anything to do with it. I swear that if...if I do, my whole family would be struck by lightning."

Lu Aotian found her annoying and showed her his phone screen. The words [Do it] were displayed on it, it was a chat screen between her and her second brother.

She did not know when and how he found that, and she was better off not knowing, but she knew he was using it as evidence.

"I...I..." she chocked on her words.

"Speak." his patience was running out. His presence was making her tremble so much that she was on the verge of passing out.

"I did not kidnap her! I only wanted to manipulate the results!" she blurted out. It didn't matter if her plan was found out at this point. Her life was more important. She unknowingly started crying when she saw that he did not believe her.

"I swear. President Lu, although Wan Jia and I ended our friendship, I would never do anything that would cause her physical harm." she almost swore on all her ancestors.

Lu Aotian saw that she indeed looked like she was telling the truth. However, he still couldn't help but scorn at what she had just said. "Miss Yun is probably unaware, but homicidal maniacs who view human life as child's play also started out by setting up little ploys like these."

As for who the 'homicidal maniacs who view human life as child's play' were, Yun Xuan understood better than anyone. He had left before she could process his words properly.

But, how was what she did a little ploy? It was already a very huge deal, okay? This was the Golden Hand Awards. No one had ever been able to manipulate the results before.

Despite that, her brother Yun Jifeng had not only been able to find out beforehand who the judges were, he had also dug up some dirt about three out the four judges. He had used it to threaten them into making Yun Xuan the winner.

As for how that would be done, it was none of Yun Jifeng's business.

The previous night, Yun Jifeng had presented his plan to his sister. She was very happy and would not ever thank her brother enough for his help.

She had kept this up her sleeves as a backup plan in case the competition got too tough. That was why she wanted to know if Wan Jia would participate. Aparently, she feared her former friend the most.

After seeing Lu Aotian in the venue earlier, she sent Yun Jifeng a text telling him to go ahead with the plan. To put it simply, to signal the judges he had blackmailed.

She brushed all that aside. Did Lu Aotian just say...Wan Jia was missing?

Old Two wouldn't have taken it too far and decided to kidnap her, right?
