Chapter 75 - Doesn't your heart ever ache?

Name:My Beautiful Love Author:Avalorian_
Wan Jia's expression gradually changed from the cheerful one into a slightly cooler one. She released her hand from his fearfully. Lu Aotian froze at her uneasy look. Was he being too rushed?"

"Wanwan,"

"Aotian"

They called each other at the same time.

"Speak first." Wan Jia urged. She didn't know what to tell him anyway and he was afraid if she felt he was being too rushed she might say something that would shatter his heart.

"Then, I'll speak. I'm sorry for being too rushed, I'm just anxious that you may your mind…anxious that you'll leave me." He took a deep breath. "You…"

Don't have to answer? Wan Jia guessed his next statement in her mind. That would make things even more awkward between them. She did not want to hear him say that. Her brain was in turmoil and before she could think about it, she had already interrupted him "Yes."

"…You don't have to…you…what did you say?" He was still speaking and didn't expect her to suddenly cut him off.

"Yes, I'll marry you." She repeated under his scorching gaze. She bet on all the starts in the sky that her cheeks were as red as beet at the moment.

Lu Aotian remained silent, probably processing what she had just said. She had agreed to marry him… he could now confirm that she really was his again. He had to calm down or else he was going to erupt into shouts and possibly scare her.

"Woohoo! You mean it, right?" he couldn't really contain himself in the end and stood up to do a happy dance around the dining table.

Wan Jia was annoyed. "Idiot, will you stop spinning around? I'm getting dizzy just watching you."

He instantly switched back to the serious President Lu in less than a second. "Sorry, I was too excited."

"That's alright, but we cannot rush into marriage." He nodded. He understood her. Not everyone was like him who wanted everything done as soon as possible. Marriage was, after all such a serious matter.

At the end of the day, Lu Aotian really hadn't prepared any ring. Wan Jia was speechless.

After dinner, she was brought to the master bedroom on the second floor. Without even paying attention to the decoration and all that, her eyes were drawn to the clear circle on the roof, right above the head of the bed. She could see the stars clearly while lying down.

"It's beautiful…Are we spending the night here?" she sat on the huge bed and gazed at the stars above.

"Is that even a question? Everything will be alright at home. They don't need us for now. I'll call Shaoting later and ask..."

"Look! That's my favorite star; the one closest to the moon." Wan Jia hadn't even heard him."

"Can you leave that for later? I still have something…"

"I hope I see a shooting star tonight, and then I can make the greatest wish of my life."

He was getting annoyed….or strictly speaking, jealous. Perhaps making that roof modification was not such a good idea after all."

He pulled her off the bed and showed her a jewelry box.

Wan Jia, who was momentarily unhappy about being dragged away from the stars, was stunned by what she saw. Twin diamond necklaces lay in the jewelry box. Even though she was not very well versed in jewels, she knew just from a glance that these were very valuable and probably cost tens of millions of dollars.

"These…these are…?" she dared not imagine them as hers.

He checked for something on them and took one of them, going behind her and putting it around her neck.

"This is for you. My grandma bought it for my mother when she was little. My mother wore it on her wedding and so will you." He explained. She felt her eyes well up. How could he give her something so valuable, and it even belonged to his late mother?

"Thank you." She couldn't stop her tears and hugged him.

"It's not that precious. You're way more valuable." He said truthfully. Only he knew just how important she was to him. He would not trade her for anything in the whole universe. Not even the universe itself.

When she stopped sobbing, he gave her the other necklace. "This one is for Little Jia. My grandma first wore it on her coming of age party. I hope my daughter will wear it on her coming of age party as well; you can give it to her on that day."

"You really don't expect me to keep these with me, right? What if I lose them? They're too precious."

"Don't worry about that." He pulled her in for a hug.

"Wanwan," he whispered.

"Mmh?"

"I love you."

"I love you too Aotian." He held the back of her neck and kissed her deeply, slowly pushing her towards the bed

The next morning.

"Ow---!"

Wan Jia howled as she got startled awake. The skin around her waist was burning in pain.

"LU! AO! TIAN!!!

When did you take a liking to pinching me? Doesn't your heart ever ache?" she scolded the man who had his arms wrapped around her."

"Mmh? What did you call me?" he asked lazily.

"Lu…hey!!" she slapped his hand away. Why did this bastard pinch her again? Did he not know how painful it was to be pinched in the morning? More so on the waist, she felt as if her skin was being peeled away.

"I just wanted to confirm I wasn't dreaming."

"Then why don't you pinch yourself?!"

"Are you kidding me? How would I remain handsome if my skin got scarred?"
