Chapter 54 - Getting a bribe

"That's because you're his daughter." he replied. "However, he has to make sure his daugher is in good hands so he's definitley going to be hard to please."

"Oh Tyler, you're the best hands I can ever land in." She kissed pulled his neck and kissed him.

A few days later, at the Yun family mansion.

"Dad, this is Tyler. My fiancé." Yun Xuan introduced him when they walked in. She did not expect the whole family to be present including all the brothers, her mother and her paternal grandmother. It wasn't an engagement party, okay?

General Yun scanned the man beside his daughter curiously. "Did you say his name is Tyler? What's his full name? Where does he come from?"

Yun Xuan freaked out. "Slow down dad, you see...for the sake of his career he can't reveal his real identity, but he'll take me to meet his family in a few days."

"Can't reveal his identity? How do we know he's not a scammer?" Yun Jifeng instantly exploded. He had a bad impression of Tyler for storming off on his siter. He believed that no matter how angry a man was, he should not fly into such rage.

"We've met one before." the youngest brother echoed referring to Wan Jia. This earned a glare from Yun Xuan.

The eldest brother walked up to him. " We just want to make sure our sister ends up with a trustworthy man."

Tyler temporarily ignored them and greeted her father. "General Yun, it's nice to meet you. What Yun Xuan just said is true. It would be dangerous for me if my identity was revealed. However, I love Yun Xuan very much and I would trade my life for her safety."

"Do you work for a secret intelligence unit?" Madam Yun asked.

"Yes."

Silence lingered for a while before General Yun said to his daughter. "I don't know where you got such a man but there's no way I'm letting my daughter marry someone we don't know."

Yun Xuan's jaw went slack. "Dad, we love each other. Who cares about his identity?Besides, he's really going to show me his family. I met his sister by the way. Why don't you trust my judgement?"

"The last time I trusted your judgement you were almost burnt to death!" he bellowed and left the room angrily. "No one is marrying some secret...whatever he is."

"But the man who saved me from that fire is Tyler!" she shouted at his retreating back.

As expected, General Yun stopped in his tracks, thought about it then frowned again. "Who's to say it wasn't a plan that both of them came up with?" he scoffed.

Yun Xuan narrowed his eyes. A plan that he and Qin Zhifan came up with? What happened to General Yun's legendary high Intelligence quotient? What kind of crazy thoughts were those?

Yun Xuan looked to her mother. "Mum,...."

"Xuanxuan, your father and I already found you a man. He's so capable and outstanding. Why don't you marry him now that he's divorced?"

Yun Xuan gasped and looked at Madam Yun in disbelief. "Are you kidding me mum? We yalked about this already and besides, he already has someone he likes."

"But you said they're not together anymore. Why don't you try your luck? After all you look just like her and you come from a much better family. Which man on earth would resist you?" Try her luck...in seducing Lu Aotian? No man would resist her?

Yun Xuan was speechless. Did those words just come from her mother?

Lu Aotian sat dully in his office listening to his younger brother's rambling. He didn't even know what Lu Shaoting was going on about but listened just for entertainment's sake. He was too bored from looking at all those never ending documents.

Well, actually he was just in a bad mood.

"Amazing brother! You're a genius! No no, you're a supergenius! You totally nailed it. That old fart

will never try anything funny with our company again..."

"Where are you?" Lu Aotian interrupted.

"Eh?" He was busy praising him. Why did he change the topic without warning? He was used to it anyway, his brother always did unpredictable things.

"I'm at Jolie toy store." he answered. Lu Aotian thought about something.

"I'm coming over." Lu Aotian said as he took his coat and car keys.

Coming....coming over? His brother was going to the toy store? He only went to such places when he was dragged along by Little Jia. It wasn't all that weird if a man like him went to a toy store with his child but such a serious man walking there alone? Wouldn't it look too....

Besides, his brother had always called him when he wanted to talk to him. Since when did he come over? Wouldn't that make him a disrespectful younger brother?

A few minutes later, Lu Aotian arrived. That cold appearance in a black suit and extremely serious face really contrasted the fluffy cute toys. Even the attendants were afraid of going over to help him.

"Brother, you are here. Is there something you want to talk to me about?" Lu Shaoting was also a bit scared. He had thought that his brother was in a very good mood and wanted to buy a new toy for Little Jia. What was with the polar appearance?

"What are you doing here?" Lu Aotian asked as he looked around.

"Oh, I'm buying a birthday present for my friend's child. Eer, why did you come here?"
