Chapter 167.2. The Fisherman

-?’s POV-

“Was there an empty space like this in the warehouse district?”

In the warehouse district, there was a clear space as if a line had been drawn. It didn’t seem like a result of a battle. It was too clean, and the adjacent warehouses were untouched. Perhaps they were preparing a new warehouse section.

As he pondered this, wondering where the people who had been engaged in the battle were, I unexpectedly encountered a young girl hatched from an egg.

“You’re a monster! And a humanoid type at that. It’s unfortunate for you to encounter me, Sakuma, who single-handedly defended against Stampede at the Coming-of-Age Party.”

The creature called Sakuma, the hero’s tale, has undergone further evolution.

[Create Stone Sword]

Carefully placing his fishing rod on the ground, as it was a high-quality rod, Sakuma prepared himself and shaded his hand towards Nagaraja. In his hand, he formed a sword or club made of a two-meter-long rock.

“Hehehe, I’m Sakuma. I can’t even remember how many monsters I’ve defeated. Crumble before my divine sword, Rock Iron!”

Sakuma stepped back and made sharp swings as if shooing away insects. Any monster would undoubtedly be frightened and run away at the sight of this brave attitude displayed by the overweight middle-aged man.

“Now, come at me from anywhere!”

Swinging the divine sword Rock Iron at possibly high speed, hero Sakuma attempted to take out his smartphone from his pocket. With his calm demeanor, Sakuma believed he could handle the situation alone, but he intended to contact the reinforcements from the warriors just in case.

Due to the cold, Saku-ma wore fluffy gloves on one hand and tried to take out his smartphone in a hurry, causing it to slip and fall, resulting in a loud crash.

“Oh no! I just bought it last month!”

Even though there were still installment payments remaining, Sakuma knelt and reached out to the ground, but his stomach got in the way, and he couldn’t quite reach, ultimately falling on his butt.

“Oh no! I just bought these pants this month!”

Hurriedly getting up and trying to remove the dirt from his pants, Saku-ma realized they were brand new, just bought recently.

As his wife held the authority over the household budget, Sakuma cherished his belongings dearly, being the hero that he is.

In front of the monster, the hero Sakuma, who showed a careful attitude towards things, made Nagaraja sigh in exasperation.

However, that was the opening Sakuma was aiming for. Seeing the sighing young girl, shouldn’t have triggered his memory of her existence.

“Heyyyyy!”

Enhancing his physical abilities, Sakuma raised the divine sword Rock Iron and threw it with all his might towards Nagaraja.

With Sakuma’s unparalleled accuracy, the divine sword Rock Iron made a splash as it fell into the sea, sinking.

Sakuma’s throwing skills were genius-level, known for throwing throwing-type magical tools at his allies, and he demonstrated that skill flawlessly. That’s truly befitting of a hero.

“To dodge my throw, you’re quite something! Create!”

“That’s enough!”

“Gehaa!”

Nagaraja blew Sakuma away with a strike of her tail. Sakuma rolled on the ground and quickly lost consciousness.

“Well, he was quite a tiring man. But I should check if he’ll be useful.”

Lifting the unconscious Sakuma with her tail, Nagaraja’s forehead pupil emitted a glow. Strands of light extended from her pupil to Sakuma’s head.

Thus, she began extracting knowledge of this world, pondering while lightly tapping her small chin.

“Well, well, it seems to be a troublesome world. If I make a wrong move, ‘those’ people will discover my presence.”

Knowing that this world was a fusion of magic and science, Nagaraja frowned and looked troubled. It seemed that records, including family registers, were managed by machines. In such a civilization, Nagaraja knew that acting carelessly would immediately reveal her existence.

“Shall I make use of this man? There seems to be a loophole.”

Running her fingers through her hair, Nagaraja smiled softly. After she did that, her hair’s color smoothly changed to a natural chestnut brown.

She gently touched her forehead, causing the third eye to disappear, and her tail slithered back into her body. With a swift wave of her hand, she made a patchwork dress, covering her body.

“So this is what it looks like.”

“Is this sufficient?”

Satisfied as she confirmed her appearance, Nagaraja kicked the unconscious Sakuma away.

“Hurtz, where is this…”

“Are you okay, Dad? You slipped on the snow and fainted comically.”

“Oh, yeah, that’s right. I need to introduce Garasha to my wife.”

As Sakkuma rubs his head, Garasha, the name given to the Nagaraja, looks worried.

“I’m your secret child, right? I wonder if it’ll be okay…”

“Don’t worry. You were alone after your mother died, right? And living in the slums without any official records… Leave it to Dad! …By the way, why was I here for fishing?”

“You said you were scared to introduce me to your wife.”

Sakuma looks puzzled, and Garasha tilts her head cutely. Seeing that, Sakuma vigorously pats Garasha’s head, smiles at her, and pats his chest.

“Leave it to me! My wife has been suffering without children. I’ll convince her. Now, come with me!”

“Yes.”

Sakuma takes Garasha’s hand, and they start walking.

Garasha looks toward the distant vacant lot and smiles softly.

“Well, well, the one who transcends dimensions is the key. If I find them, it might serve as an offering to summon my followers. Well, I lost. Let’s enjoy this world for a while.”

And so, Garasha, or rather, Nagaraja. Choose to live in the human world as Sakuma’s daughter.

By the way, Sakkuma’s wife felt deep sympathy for Garasha’s situation and was overjoyed to welcome a person with magical potential as her daughter.

That being said, Sakuma’s monthly allowance was reduced, but it’s not something to worry about.
