Chapter 161.2. Blood Of The Royal Family

-Nagamasa’s POV-

No matter how much mana I poured into it. No matter how much I increased the speed of my punches, the result remained the same. They were all deflected effortlessly.

Although the high-speed battle had only lasted a few minutes, it felt like an excruciatingly long time for Nagamasa, yet the situation remained unchanged.

“H-How long… will you keep saying it’s futile?”

“Whether it’s futile or not is for me to decide. But wouldn’t it be better for you to prepare some extra coins for continues?”

“W-Why?”

With thunderous roars, their fists clashed, but Nagamasa couldn’t understand why only his punches were being deflected, causing him to break out in a cold sweat.

Before my punches could reach their full extension, before the power could fully manifest, Freya’s punches landed. Moreover, she shifted the point of impact of my punches, allowing most of my power to dissipate without being fully unleashed.

Nagamasa’s mana was being wasted and depleted. After becoming acutely aware of the vast difference in their skills, fear began to grip Nagamasa. His punches lost their speed and sharpness.

Between the disjointed flurry of his faltering punches, Freya’s punches found their mark, causing Nagamasa’s body to waver.

“I’m telling you, it’s ineffective!”

“I would like to see how much you can endure.”

“S-Stop… Ugh!”

Finally, after losing his balance and being unable to throw another punch, Nagamasa was struck by countless punches, sending him flying.

He tumbled forcefully across the floor, his body finally coming to a stop as it collided with the reinforced magical concrete wall.

“It’s ineffective…”

Although I got blown away, the impact was mitigated. Therefore, I remained unharmed as I stood up, though my voice trembled slightly with fear.

However, as he exhaled and regained his composure, he extended his arm and prepared himself.

“Well, there’s no other choice… I’ll show you my trump card!”

“Fine by me. I’m curious to see what cheat code you’ll use this time.”

Whether she was gradually losing interest or not, Freya’s face turned bored, and she beckoned him to come.

“Hah! Don’t underestimate me! I’ll show you my last resort!”

With an outstretched hand forming a knife-hand position, Nagamasa began to channel golden mana. His face turned red, veins bulging on his forehead as he gathered his focus. Nagamasa had decided to use his trump card.

[Luminous Ring Sword]

As his knife hand emitted a brilliant golden light, an aura of gold extended from his hand, transforming the knife hand into a sword. Nagamasa proudly displayed his transformed hand into a 3-meter-long golden sword, he’s sporting a smug expression.

“The ultimate technique used by my old man! I’ve become able to use it too, you know? Taste the sword of light that tears through everything!”

With a loud thud, Nagamasa kicks the floor and raises his sword towards Freya.

“So, that’s your trump card… Well then, allow me to show you mine as well.”

[God Enchant]

Freya retrieves a one-handed sword from out of space and uses magic. Divine blessings descend from the heavens, turning the sword into a pillar of radiant white light.

“I don’t know what kind of enhancement that is, but it won’t match up against my Luminous Ring Sword!”

Without the sword’s weight, Nagamasa’s strike is sharp and swift. Roaring, he attempts a diagonal slash, but Freya aligns her divinely blessed sword with the Luminous Ring Sword.

The collision of light’s particle disperses slightly, causing the trajectory of the Luminous Ring Sword to shift.

Taking advantage of the opening, Freya closes the distance to the off-balanced Nagamasa, lightly swinging her sword.

With a clean cut, Nagamasa’s shoulder is sliced open, and fresh blood spurts from the gaping wound.

“What? No way! Damn it!”

More than the pain, Nagamasa is overwhelmed by disbelief. He pushes aside his rationality, trying to comprehend the situation, and steps back while attempting another swing with the Luminous Ring Sword.

But it’s a futile attack. Nagamasa’s strike gets deflected, and he’s met with a swift slash.

It’s a scene reminiscent of their previous exchange with fists. Only this time, the situation is far worse.

While Freya’s attacks didn’t land before, they do now.

Intense attacks get unleashed, and the result is catastrophic.

Nagamasa’s body gradually accumulates cuts, while Freya remains unscathed.

“Why? Why is this happening? What about the magic barrier? Why isn’t the magic barrier activating? You’re cheating, aren’t you?”

Nagamasa wouldn’t worry about a magic barrier, but seeing the enemy’s attacks penetrating the [God Armor], he shouts, his face paling. The confident smile he had a moment ago is nowhere to be seen.

Facing the wounded Nagamasa, Freya sighs in disappointment and responds.

“Have you trained in wielding a 3-meter sword? If you want to do sports fencing, I recommend going to a children’s center.”

Freya deduces that Nagamasa’s Luminous Ring Sword possesses considerable power, but she sees through his amateurish swordsmanship.

He’s merely relying on his physical abilities to swing the sword at high speeds, nothing more than a small fry.

“Damn it! What do you know about sports fencing? Don’t belittle me! This isn’t my true power!”

With a forceful exhalation, Nagamasa tries to tap into even greater power. A golden aura erupts, distorting the surrounding space like a mirage.

However, noticing an anomaly in that spectacle, Freya points it out.

“That technique seems to consume a significant amount of mana. It would be better to stop it, you know? Look, your golden mana is changing into a strange color.”

“Color? Th-this can’t be. What’s happening?!”

Startled by the observation, Nagamasa hastily looks at his aura. To his horror, a sinister and eerie aura, resembling purple miasma. It’s emanating from his body. It overrides the golden aura and continues to grow.

“S-s-stop it! It won’t stop! Wh-what is this? What’s happening to my body?”

Nagamasa’s body becomes enveloped in a malevolent aura, transforming. His skin ruptures as muscle fibers expand. His neck elongates, his hair falls out, and his head bursts open, exposing the brain.

His mouth forms a cross-shaped cut, gaping wide open, revealing a row of densely packed protruding fangs.

His arms split into 2, forming 4 arms that tear through the skin and continue to elongate. His legs fuse into 1, resembling a tail as it crawls along the ground.

Breaking free from the magical armor he wore, his entire body shatters it from within. Rib bones protrude, while muscle tissue swells and engulfs them.

“G-gaahhh! O-demon… Gr-gyaahhh!”

As the light of reason fades from his now yellowish and turbid eyes, Nagamasa, having taken on a grotesque form, bursts through the warehouse’s roof, and roars.

“You have been disqualified as a hero. I wish you luck in your endeavors elsewhere. W-well then, it’s time for a substitution.”

The once cold and ruthless goddess, Freya, who had shown herself during the battle with Nagamasa, now reverts to her timid goddess form.

“Could this be… a hidden event, perhaps?”

Emerging from the shadows of the destroyed warehouse, the petite figure of the beautiful girl, Takano Miu, appears. Upon seeing Nagamasa, she smiles insolently, like a raptor spotting its prey.
