Chapter 41 41 Cloak Of Invisibility

The man dropped the crystal on his desk and quickly bent down to bring something out.

Alex moved from where he was standing to the other side and brought out his steel dagger, maybe the man was trying to bring out a flintlock and shoot at him.

The man brought out a small device with a glass-like mirror that looked like a microscope, the man took the crystal and put it in front of the glass mirror.

"Hmmm...I thought it was fake, turns out it's the real deal" the man smiled as he spoke.

'I knew that crystal was important, maybe I should go back and grind for more' Alex said inwardly, but then he remembered the dangers of the cave.

'When I'm strong enough, I'm going to remember that cave'

Alex cleared his throat and the man looked at him, the man was too engrossed in the crystal that he forgot about Alex.

"Sorry, I'll take all of this... I'll give you 5000 Blue coins" the man spoke with an expressionless face.

Merchants were truly merchants, just now the man was amazed by the crystal but now that it was time for bargaining the man's face had suddenly gone blank.

"No..." Alex said, he knew all his items were worth more than 5000 coins.

"Okay...I have something that might interest you, I want this crystal but if you refuse this offer that's too bad, because it's the last one I'm making" the man spoke.

"Okay... what do you have that might interest me?" Alex asked.

The man bent down again and Alex brought out his dagger again he couldn't take any chances, now that PvP was enabled Alex was on high alert, killing another player would definitely be the fastest way to level up, and an NPC as cunning as this merchant might do something else.

And for some reason since Alex came in no other player or NPC had walked in, and the shop was empty except for the two of them.

"Here..." the man brought out an old item that was covered in dust, Alex couldn't even see what it was because of the dust.

*Cough*

Both Alex and the man coughed loudly when the dust was blown away from the equipment.

"It's a black clothing, what does it do?" Alex asked.

"Cloak of invisibility," the man said in a low voice, "the cloak is said to contain amazing camouflage ability, so this is my last offer, the cloak plus 5000 coins"

'Cloak of invisibility... that would be very helpful but I don't know how it works, I should take it'

"I'll take it," Alex told the man and the man smiled brightly.

"Give me a minute..." the man bent down again for the third time, but this time Alex didn't care and he just stood there waiting.

The man brought out an iron box and placed it on the table, then he brought out 5000 coins before standing back up. The man opened the iron box and placed all of Alex's items inside.

Alex collected the coins from the table and quickly swiped them into his inventory

[+5000 Blue coins]

[Cloak of Invisibility]

The cloak was just a normal black robe, Alex haven't tried it on so he didn't know how it works.

"Nice doing business with you" the man smiled and sat down.

Alex exited the shop and returned to the busy street, his next stop was the weapon shop then the armor shop, he needed good equipment now that he had enough money.

The street was even busier than when Alex first came, he squeeze himself past the large crowd and finally got to the weapon shop, but his eyes wandered somewhere else.

[Potion Shop]

Alex looked at the sign in front of the shop and was drawn towards the shop, there were many potions in the game and each of them had its unique use.

A strange smell filled Alex's nose as he opened the door to the shop, colorful smoke filled the shop and there was no one behind the counter.

"Anyone here?" Alex asked as he covered his nose with one of his hands.

*Cough*

A young man coughed and emerged from within the smoke, Alex flinched and moved back a little.

"Sorry..." the man quickly turned around and closed the door.

Alex settled down as he saw that the man came from another room, the room was filled with smoke and the man wore two pairs of glasses, it was slightly different from the one the other merchant used.

The man went behind the counter and removed the glasses on his eyes, his name and level hovering above his head.

[Matthew]

[Level 50]

Matthew was a young man in his early twenties, his clothes were old and wrinkled, and he had bags under his eyes meaning he wasn't getting enough sleep.

"How can I help this handsome young man," Matthew said and flashed a smile.

"Can I see the list of potions available" Alex also spoke with a smile on his face.

"A list...I know I kept it somewhere, give me a minute" the man searched through his items.

The smoke had now dispersed and Alex could see the back door clearly, the man's shop contained nothing, all the shelves were empty.

"Here it is" the man handed a paper to Alex.

[Strength potion]

[Agility potion]

[XP Boost potion]

[Potion of Healing]

[Stamina potion]

[Potion of Regeneration]

[Potion of Camouflage]

Alex glanced through the piece of paper with a smile on his face, this was exactly what he was looking for.

Potions were of different types and most of them were used as buffs in battles, Alex needed to acquire some for himself in case.

"How much for these?"

"Sorry but some of them are not available, most of them," Matthew said.

"Which of them are available?" Alex asked.

"Only the healing potion is available, I don't the materials to make other, I'm missing a particular ingredient"

"Ohh, that's too bad..." Alex said and dropped the paper.

"Can I interest you in a task, you look like an adventurer and you are coming to buy potions so I'm guessing you are an adventurer, I have a task for you and you're going to be paid"
