Chapter 791 First-Born Son

( A fortnight later )

Asiva was expected to deliver the baby this week and the nursemaids and the medical staff were on standby as she could go into labour any minute now.

Max no longer left the palace in fear of not being there for Asiva when she needed him and mostly worked from his office within the palace chambers.

It was just a regular day for him, as he was going over the latest crime report papers and some documents regarding new infrastructure projects when suddenly Sebastian burst into his room.

Sebastian was covered in sweat, his eyes wide with urgency as he said " Max, Asiva's water has broken. It's time "

As those words entered Max's ears every parchment, every piece of mail on Max's table, faded into insignificance.

His heart raced, excitement and nerves tangling in a chaotic dance as a beautiful thought popped up ' A father. I'm going to be a father! '

Max bolted out of the palace office, his feet barely touching the ground as he rushed through the opulent hallways with pure adrenaline coursing through his veins.

As he ran, his thoughts swirled—a mixture of awe, joy, and a creeping fear he couldn't quite suppress ' Would I be able to protect him? Can I be the father he deserves? ' Max questioned, as he was oddly jittery about bringing a new life to this horrifying world.

The crowd outside Asiva's chamber was thick—servants, ministers, friends—all held back by a wall of stern-faced guards and Severus who were under strict orders to not let anyone pass.

The race of the newborn was a big question mark. Although he should not be born a primordial vampire, if he somehow did, Max did not want the news to reach out as then the wolves would circle down on his family.

Hence for the safety of his wife and child and his own racial identity, Max decided to only allow two nursemaids to assist Asiva in delivery and he had already sworn them to secrecy.

They could not perform inspect spells on the baby, nor could they speak about his appearance or gender or any event that transpired within the room to anyone else for the rest of their lives.

As Max pushed through the crowd, his eyes meeting no one's, his mind singularly focused even though there were congratulatory murmurs and encouraging back pats all around him.

As he approached the gate, Severus nodded at him while the guards stepped aside, granting him passage.

As he stepped into the dimly lit room, his ears caught Asiva's soft moan of pain. " Max," she whispered, her eyes locking onto his.

Asiva was propped up against a mound of silk pillows, her face flushed and beaded with sweat, she looked to be in a world of pain but despite her current state she had a soft smile on her face that made Max fall in love with her all over again.

Furball, her and the baby's personal divine nine-tailed guardian, rested at her feet, her bushy tails twitching anxiously as Max could see at a single glance that even she was a little jittery about the childbirth.

Having spent months by Asiva's side, nourishing the baby, Furball had formed a close connection to the little one and was excited yet nervous to meet it.

The nursemaids were in place, their faces solemn yet reassuring. " My Lord," one said, " The contraction intervals are already down to 1 minute, the baby should be out any minute now " they informed as Max took Asiva's hand, feeling her fingers clench his in a vice grip as another contraction rolled through her.

Asiva's screams filled the air, drowning out the subdued chants of the nursemaids as they performed the age-old vampire rituals of birth.

Max looked into Asiva's eyes and saw a blend of agony and determination. It was a paradoxical moment—joy in the midst of pain, life being created in a room where the air was thick with struggle.

Asiva was a fighter, her resolve was something that mere pain could not falter as she pushed with all her strength and smoothly delivered the baby in one fell swoop.

And then, after what felt like an eternity to Max, the room was filled with the cry of a newborn.

Max felt his eyes moisten as he looked down at the small, wriggling form in the nursemaid's arms. " A son, " she whispered, handing him the tiny bundle.

Asiva's exhausted eyes met Max's and even though no words were spoken Max understood her desire to see her son as he showed her the blood covered baby.

" We have a son together now, Max," she breathed in relief, her voice tinged with awe and charged emotions

Furball leaped up to the bed, sniffing the new life before letting out a yip of approval.

She immediately began licking the blood off the baby as the little one seemingly stopped crying out loud once Furball started to show love for it.

The baby was born with a snow-white skin that wasn't pale, nor was it a shade darker than pure white as the complexion could only be described as ' Perfect ' and ' Angelic '

It had blood red eyes just like Max's, and a tiny nose and ears that looked like Asiva's, however, when the little face and large eyed baby looked into Max's eyes, Max felt his gut tighten like he had never felt before as in that moment he felt like he had never really loved anyone as much as he loved this brat that was in his arms.

There were no teeth yet, so it was hard to decide if he would have fangs or not, but by looks alone the baby looked perfectly normal and healthy.

Sucking a deep breath, Max gathered the courage to inspect the baby as his eyes widened in disbelief when he noticed the baby's race.

[ ' Unnamed ' ] ( Lv: 0, Tier 0 ) [ Race : Enhanced Vampire ] [ Title : First of his kind ]

" Hahahaha- " Max chuckled into a hearty laugh as he raised his boy high up and looked at him with pride.

' The first of his kind....., so you're going to usher this universe into a new era of vampires? ' Max thought as he felt the cycle of history completing in a full circle.

" My lord, please give him a name.... " one of the nursemaids said, as Max thought for a moment and then looked into Asiva's eyes for approval.

Only after Asiva nodded to signify that it was okay, did Max hold the baby close to his chest and give him the name that he had decided to give his baby should it have been born a boy.

" I, Max Rajput, the Lord of Dombivli and the Primal God, name you after a great man who is no longer with us in this universe.

I name you after him because I expect you to become kind hearted, cowardly and strong like him.

May you live long and bring much glory to his name as well as the Rajput family name.

My first-born son, Kremeth Rajput " Max said as the two nursemaids instantly went down on their knees in respect.

Meanwhile, from a trillion miles away, Rudra who watched over the entire ceremony smiled a bright smile witnessing the birth of his nephew.

Now there was one more soul added in the list of individuals he swore to protect at all costs.
