Regus stumbled into Zandar royal palace, breaching its security, sending alarms blaring throughout the palace.

Bleeding profusely from his upper torso, he bloodied whatever corridor he walked on as Titus clan guards rushed in towards his location thinking he was a hostile enemy.

" WHO DARES INVA-, My king, are you alright? " the head guard said as he was startled to see the vampire monarch in such bad shape.

" Vega, someone get me Vega " Regus said as he buckled to his knee and spat a mouthful of blood as the Titus clan guards scrambled to search for the patriarch.

Naturally, Vega Titus had also heard the alarms and was headed towards the intruder, however, unlike the others he sensed it from far away that it was Regus who had stumbled into his palace unannounced.

Initially he had planned to mock Regus for his rudeness, but the desperate expression on the face of the head guard told him that it was something serious.

It wasn't until Vega saw Regus in person that all colour drained from his face.

The war against the dark faction was over and Vega could not imagine who else could injure Regus so badly, as he realised that this was no time for jokes.

" What do you need me to do? " Vega asked with a straight face as Regus mouthed a simple command before passing out.

" Find Martha, Marcus and Felix, please " Regus said, before collapsing in the halls of the Titus clan palace unconscious.

" MEDICS! SOMEONE GET THE FUCKING HEALERS, THE KING IS HURT" Vega shouted as he clutched his hair in panic.

Regus would survive, Vega was not worried about that.

The reason behind why he passed out was because of excessive blood loss because unlike usual times when his body would heal up after being injured, this time around the wounds were not closing down.

It wasn't something his strong vitality could not handle with the help of proper medics, however, the fact that someone could harm the king to such an extent was deeply disturbing for Vega.

" How the fuck am I supposed to find your wife and children you dimwit, I have no idea where the fuck to even start? " Vega cursed at Regus's unconscious body as the rest of the Titus clan underlings heard his rant with their mouths agape.

They had never heard anyone speak so rudely to Regus Aurelius, however, Vega was probably the only vampire in the entire Vampire society who could.

The very fact that Regus chose to teleport to Zandar of all places was proof that he trusted Vega enough to protect him, come what may.

The two never looked eye to eye on any subject, however, if the two did share an understanding about one thing, it was that both of them wanted the best for the vampire society.

Regus knew that Vega understood the consequences of his death better than anyone.

This meant that even if he did not like Regus personally, he would ensure that he would not suffer an untimely demise.

" Send scouts to Ixtal, if the teleportation centre is compromised take the fastest ship, let me know what you find via transmission stones.

All hell must have broken lose in Ixtal if Regus is cooped up here.

Also someone make contact with Dombivli and Turin and connect me with Max Rajput and Sam Saint Maximus.

This takes the highest priority, drop everything else you are doing and everyone get on this task.

His rage mobilised the entire Titus clan who understood the urgency of the situation as everyone began rushing through the halls.

Although no-one was sure as to what exactly was going on yet, everyone understood that all hell had broken loose.

As Sebastian and the rest teleported back to Dombivli palace, Anna immediately smacked Sebastian hard on his head.

" HOW DARE YOU LEAVE MAX ALONE IN THERE? HE MAYBE SERIOUSLY WOUNDED IN THERE FOR ALL WE KNOW, HAVE YOU ABSOLUTELY LOST YOUR MIND? " Anna said as she began mercilessly hitting Sebastian who took the beating without protest.

Sebastian knew what he felt and he wasn't sorry for saving the life of the group.

Even if Anna could not understand, Sebastian knew that if the group had stayed a second longer against that man he would have killed them all as if he were squashing bugs.

He wasn't someone they could contend against and he knew Max would have wanted him to ensure the safety of others rather than them staying back for him.

DarkSorrow and Severus understood, but Anna, who was in love with Max, did not see the practical reality of the universe.

" For your sake Sebastian, you better pray Max comes back home okay, because if he doesn't I'm shooting an arrow straight through your heart you spineless COWARD " Anna said as she broke down into a heap of tears

Severus felt like he should reprimand her for her behaviour, however, Sebastian held his sleeve to signal him to stop.

Sebastian did not expect anyone to understand his actions and he did not want Anna to get an earful for caring about Max.

If his instincts proved to be wrong and Max died because of him, he would gladly take an arrow to the heart.

This group of friends was all Sebastian had, and he wasn't ashamed to admit that he would trade the lives of Anna, Asiva and Severus for that of Max any day of the week.

The man was like a brother to him and probably the most important bond he shared in this universe now that his master was dead.

If it turned out that Max had left him alone in this universe, then he did not want to stay here alone anyways.
