Chapter 692 Jhonny Sees Angakok

( Neatwit's POV )

Neatwit had gone ahead of the rest of the marching troops and rushed to be the first to reach the vampire disc.

Currently the Aurelius clan soldiers numbering a few thousand were the only one's defending the fort and had to deal with some minor nuisances from aerial mounts who had come ahead of the main army.

Once he reached however, he swiftly took out all the aerial forces and managed to clear an area big enough to set up a perimeter.

Internally he sighed in relief that the vampire disc was still intact and there was no sight of the enemy, however, he also knew that the main elite forces were still about 40 minutes out, meaning that this would be a nerve wrecking 40 minutes for him.

Like an absolute boss, he took command of the Aurelius base and issued fresh orders to all vampires present and when the two Aurelius gods tried to protest, he casually unleashed just a sliver of his tier7 power to remind them who the real boss was.

Once he settled the internal affairs, he nervously sat atop the edge of the fortress and gazed off into the distance, preparing for any enemy attack.

*SMACK*

A tight smack on his back made him lose balance as for a second he panicked and his hand subconsciously reached for the hilt of his sword as he pulled it out and turned to attack his surprise attacker.

*SHINGGG*

His sword was blocked with ease as Neatwit realised that his attacker was none other than Jhonny English as he calmed down a bit.

" Calm down boy, it's only me, also your innate senses suck. If I were an enemy I wouldn't have smacked your back, I would have carved your heart- " Jhonny said as he gave Neatwit a serious look.

Neatwit, who was flying just off the forts edge, flew back in and landed in front of sir Jhonny and scratched the back of his head.

Sir Johnny's assassin skills had reached a realm of its own.

Neatwit knew that his senses were by no means weak. However, he did not have the faintest of ideas as to how Jhonny managed to sneak up on him.

If anything it was a testament to sir Jhonny's strength, but all that was just an excuse as he could not find a rebuttal to sir Jhonny's words and could only hang his head down in shame.

" I don't think anyone apart from you can sneak up on me Sir Jhonny- " Neatwit said as Jhonny shook his head and pointed towards the sky.

Neatwit looked in the direction Jhonny was pointing at but could see or detect absolutely nothing there.

" I don't see anything…. " Neatwit said and immediately received a smack to the back of his head.

" You are the guildmaster of the guild boy, you are supposed to be better than this " Jhonny chided as he took out a dagger from his inventory and threw it at the direction he had pointed in until his dagger was abruptly disrupted mid-air and a man with purple eyes emerged from his camouflage. I think you should take a look at

Neatwit was dumbfounded as he immediately pulled out his sword and prepared to engage the man, however, after staring down Jhonny for a while, the purple eyed old bald man just flew away as if he did not care about the happenings of the vampire fort.

" Who was he? " Neatwit asked as his scan of the man returned as a god named ' Angakok ' who was a tier7 being.

Jhonny only shrugged his shoulders at the question and said " Whoever he was, he was extremely powerful- "

Neatwit frowned when he heard this as Jhonny had never given such praise to any opponent.

If Jhonny declared him to be strong then whoever Angakok was, he had to be the real deal.

( Meanwhile Angakok )

Angakok had visited the vampire fort in hopes of finding Max, but instead he found the vampire disc raid to have started and the vampire base being sparsely defended.

There was a tier7 god sitting on-top of the fort, however, in his void form, Angakok was sure that the man could not detect him, as he scanned the fort to check if Max was present within.

While he was checking from a distance for any signs of Max, a man with a peculiar sense of fashion that did not look anything like what a warrior would wear began messing around with the tier7 god, but what shocked Angakok was that the man then randomly pointed towards the sky in the exact position where he was standing.

For a moment, Angakok felt pressured that his cover had been bust, but he then also had confidence in his concealment skills and felt that it was impossible for him to be sniffed out, unless someone had perfect understanding of the void element.

What Angakok did not know was that sir Jhonny lived and breathed the void element-

In Front of him, Angakok's disguise was a child's play, hence when he threw a dagger towards him, Angakok was forced to cancel out his skill and block the attack.

By now, he had already determined that Max was not inside the fort and hence he had no intentions of lingering anymore, but he still took a few seconds to stare down the strange man who had seen through his disguise.

Although he was only tier6, the strange man stared Angakok down as if he was the superior warrior and gave him the chills.

Forced to commit his face to memory, Angakok moved on reluctantly as he knew he needed to focus on the objective at hand.

However, this encounter served as a reality check for him as he realised that the controlled universe had changed a lot during the time he was asleep.

Apart from the old monsters that dominated ages ago, there were newer more formidable warriors as well, and Angakok could not ignore the threat they bore or someday he would die at the hands of one of them.
