Chapter 117 Once Again, Shocking The Observer

Observing the expression on the grand paladin's face, Daniel couldn't help but let out a dry laugh. He never imagined that transmuting someone's arm would yield such unexpected results.

In all honesty, he was still trying to unravel the mechanics of how the grand profession card functioned in the real world. The knowledge and abilities associated with it surpassed the confines of the card game, and the interpretation of the card's name, lore, and abilities had materialized into practical effects in reality. For example the construction golem squad cards.

In the game, the construction golem was a common and easily attainable card. However, in the real world, its true potential and lore had come to life, making it an essential labor force within his secret base, accessible to anyone. Likewise, his metal scarab possessed a multitude of capabilities, and those granted sufficient clearance within the base frequently enlisted its aid.

Daniel was still figuring out the best way to utilize the vast knowledge he possessed from three different professions: The Grand Artificer, The Grand Alchemist, and The Grand Hunter. The successful transmutation of Christopher's arm into salt was a result of combining the martial arts and battle instincts from the Grand Hunter with the transmutation knowledge of the Alchemist.

This was the first time Daniel had attempted to merge these different areas of expertise, and the outcome had been remarkably satisfactory. However, he had not anticipated the aftermath and the fact that Christopher's right arm could not fully recover, even with the aid of healing magic.

Daniel reached into his pocket and pulled out a specially designed name card, which he handed to the grand paladin.

"My apologies for the unexpected outcome. If you bring this card and visit the lobby of my company, which will be opening in two days, I will make it up to you and even create a custom-designed artifact just for you," Daniel explained, standing up and leaving the name card on the seat.

"Now, if you'll excuse me, I have a family dinner to attend," Daniel bid farewell to the grand paladin and leaped out of the abandoned building.

— Observation Room —

Inside the office, filled with screens, computers, and various equipment, the people were astounded by the scene captured by the Sky Eyes Observation Artifact. They were well aware of Magitek's power, but they never expected it to be this formidable! To think that he had emerged victorious against the Grand Paladin of the Vatican Secret Exterminator Unit, and without resorting to killing!

One needs to know that one person from the Vatican Secret Exterminator Unit could decimate a squad of average enforcers.

What does it mean to subdue the Vatican Secret Exterminator Unit without killing them? These units are renowned in the Curtained World for their unwavering determination and never surrender to their foe. So, how does one go about pacifying these stubborn, battle-hungry fanatics? The answer lies in following a similar approach to what Daniel did.

First and foremost, you must disarm them, leaving them no means to retaliate. Then, you can work on convincing them that you are not their enemy or persuading them that there has been a misunderstanding, just as Daniel did.

Once you have achieved that, surprisingly enough, these fanatics become surprisingly receptive to conversation and can be relatively easy to talk to. Convincing them may not be the most challenging part, but rather, it is the initial act of subduing them without killing them.

"He actually managed to take down Christopher Ward of the Vatican Secret Exterminator Unit," Greg uttered in disbelief as he stood there, witnessing the entire event unfold.

"Sir... What should we do next?" Amy, his subordinate and girlfriend, inquired.

"Well... We continue with our job, of course. We need to gather all the information and send it to Miss Envy in London," Greg ordered.

"Yes, sir!" The subordinates acknowledged the order and swiftly dispersed, compiling all the data and analysis regarding the event. They focused on Magitek's battle prowess, weaponry, tools, and potential threats to the Hightower. Their objective was to send a comprehensive report to Envy, their new boss.

"Ha... I really need a vacation," Greg uttered wearily before returning to his office with Amy to assist him in reviewing the compiled information before sending it to Miss Envy.

— 8:00 PM - Secret Base Cityscape - Residential Area —

In the subterranean depths of the secret base, where an artificial sky flawlessly recreated the ethereal illumination from the world above, a remarkable sight unfolded. Within the cityscape section of the base's sprawling layout, nestled amidst the residential area, stood a contemporary skyscraper. Its sleek, modern design and towering stature mirrored the architectural marvels found on the surface.

Atop this majestic building, perched like a beacon of light, resided a two-story house. Its windows aglow with warmth, casting a gentle radiance against the backdrop of the artificial night sky. The surrounding environment mirrored the hustle and bustle of an above-ground city, complete with shops and an entertainment district. Despite the hidden nature of their existence, the residents of this secret base enjoyed a semblance of the familiar world they had left behind.

Daniel arrived at his rooftop house, wearing a tired expression on his face. He had rushed back from the surface, where he had engaged in a fierce battle with the grand paladin, eager to join his girlfriend and their precious daughter for their first family dinner.

"I'm back!" Daniel exclaimed loudly as he entered the house.

Daniel walked into the living room and observed the scene before him. Greed and his mischievous daughter were engaged in a lively dance competition, tapping their feet on the dancing pad with great enthusiasm. The game's cues flashed on the TV screen, guiding their movements.

Greed, with her long legs, seemed to have the upper hand, gracefully executing each step. Meanwhile, little Sylvana, determined to give her aunt a run for her money, tried her best to keep up. Suddenly, with a mischievous smile on her face, Sylvana leaped onto Greed's leg, weighing her down in an attempt to slow her progress.

"Uwah!" Greed cried out as she lost her balance, teetering on the edge of falling along with the mischievous little troublemaker.

"Be careful!" Daniel swiftly rushed over, reaching out to support both Greed and his daughter, preventing them from toppling over.

After assisting the mischievous duo, Daniel cast a stern gaze at both of them, clearly expressing his disapproval.

"Sylvana, you can't just jump on Aunt Greed like that. She doesn't have the strength to handle your sudden weight. Being labeled as the Weakest Witch among the Seven Deadly Sins isn't just an empty title!" Daniel gently tapped his daughter's head as he playfully scolded her.

"And as for you, Greed..." He shifted his attention to Greed, who wore a wry smile, still feeling the sting from Daniel's earlier remark.

"Do you need me to arrange for someone in the barracks to assist you with some muscle training? You're too weak to even outrun an enemy or escape if needed!" Daniel's concern for Greed was evident in his voice.

Upon hearing this, Greed's mind conjured up nightmarish images of shaving her head, slogging through waist-deep water while carrying a heavy log, enduring intense weightlifting sessions, and doing 100 sit-ups and 100 push-ups and running 10 for 10 kilos everyday without rest while do not use any air conditioner.

"No, no, no! I'm more of the sharp-minded business type. That's why I hired your girlfriend to be my bodyguard!" Greed quickly rebuffed Daniel's suggestion, taking a few steps back.

"But Koyuki can't use magic anymore. She has become weaker after losing her magic and blood essence. And I don't know when she will be able to use it again," Daniel explained, providing his reasoning.

"Geh..." Greed couldn't retort, as Daniel's reasoning made sense.

Indeed, her strongest bodyguard was Koyuki, also known as Wrath. Losing her ability to cast magic undoubtedly weakened her, as she could no longer employ her strength-enhancing spells that had allowed her to unleash the full extent of her Wrath.

Just then, Koyuki's voice called out from the kitchen. "It's dinnertime, everyone!"

"Yayyyyyy! Burgers! Burgers!" Sylvana joyfully raced towards the kitchen, hopping onto a high chair specifically designed for children, eager to enjoy the meal at eye level with the adults.

Daniel followed suit, making his way to the kitchen, while Greed let out a sigh of relief, grateful that the topic had shifted, sparing her from the prospect of being coerced into grueling physical training with Daniel's soldiers in the barracks.

In the dining room-turned-kitchen, Daniel encountered two women. One was his girlfriend, Koyuki, and the other was Michaela, her silver hair elegantly tied up in a bun. Michaela donned an apron over her casual attire of jeans and a shirt, giving her the appearance of a newlywed wife.

Daniel was momentarily taken aback by Michaela's new look, while Koyuki couldn't help but let out a teasing grin. After all, she had been Daniel's girlfriend for years and was well aware of his penchant for women with an angelic aura, such as Michaela.
