49 sectors of the stronghold
"What's your name and where do you live?" The boy turned and saw the tall guy who saved him, a smile blossoming on his face as this was the reason he strolled so slowly in the first place. The distance to his home was pretty far, he had used his last money to pay for his trip to the clinic.
But he had to make sure this man did not see through his tricks "Oh..umm... I live in sector E."
"SECTOR E!" Derek exclaimed with wide eyes, this was the last sector, the stronghold was divided into six sectors, sector A was for the top and rich, sector B was for big organizations, high-class luxury hotels, fun places, and huge companies. Sector C was built for dealing with the needs of both Sector D and Sector E which was where other civilians lived, the hierarchy was distinct but people didn't care, as long as their lives were peaceful and they could stay safe within the walls of the stronghold nothing else mattered as least for now.
Derek Hailed a taxi and on their way, he remembered Christopher's words * "Hmmm" Christopher hummed while rubbing his chin, his eyes kept closing and opening at close intervals as Derek just wanted to disconnect this call due to Christopher's irking attitude.
"This is good, I've been looking for a good chance for a field experience, you are permitted but... no mediums, you need to master your martial arts and what's better than fighting a real battle."
Surprisingly Christopher agreed and Derek also agreed with his decision. He wanted to get stronger, faster and since Christopher stopped him from the other path, he had to go through this one. Though using his daggers will make things much easier, it would restrict his growth for now, he still has a long way to go!
Derek turned to the boy whose eyes were clouded with happiness and relief and sighed, he hoped they got there on time.
'It's like I'm back on earth' Derek muttered inwardly as he stared at the buildings which were exactly like the popular buildings on earth, though it was quite late few people were still on the road and the kid directed him towards his home.
Walking on the silent street Derek noted that the boy's home was at the most rural place in this district, the place was silent and even the lights here were flickering, it seems like they were at the end of their lifespan, some didn't even have lights as they were dead.
The roadside was littered with scraps and garbage, and the smell of rotten consumables drifted into Derek's nostrils causing him to frown as he couldn't believe such a place existed in the stronghold, he could sight some homeless people sleeping on the roadside and his frown got deeper, from what he learned at school this sort of stuff isn't supposed to happen, the government always funds and provide homes for this kind of people or this is probably the work of some greedy politician who had been eating the money and this place was very rural so no one noticed.
Suddenly the boy increased his pace and Derek guessed his home must be close, the closer they got the more wretched the place looked, Derek had no choice but to ask "You live here?" He doubted that a kid who could speak so properly was born in this slump, though the kid was stubborn he didn't have an iota of such a rough life in him.
"No we used to live at sector D but after my dad died and my mum became ill everything became worse, there was no other choice but to come here."
"I'm sorry," Derek said to the kid whose eyes were slightly moist, he wiped away his tears and pointed ahead," We just need to reach that junction and go right that's where my home is," he didn't want Derek to get impatient as they had been walking for a while now.
A few minutes later they stood before a building with drowning hearts, for the boy he felt his whole world was crumbling as he couldn't stop his body from trembling, and for Derek, he feared the same thing that happened to him would happen to the boy and he had it worse, he was still little!.
