47 cracked soul
"But it's hard for him to change into someone completely different, I mean his previous life wanted him to overthink, it was a little too fast to expect him to become an action-packed commando. His former life was peaceful and calm, he was a normal citizen and needed time to adjust to his current changes," Jake said to Christopher while they left the training hall.
"He doesn't require such a waste of useful time."
"What! Why? Jake queried when he heard Christopher.
"Because his life had changed from the very moment those nightmares attacked, do you know why I accepted him? I used my soul's eyes and what I saw was unbelievable, that boy isn't ordinary, I haven't told him, but the reason his anger always takes over is that he awakened. Unlike us, his soul is too vast, it is an uncharted land that has been divided and if he doesn't learn control he'll lose himself to his rage, then! Training him is useless because I'll be training a monster"
"Cracked soul, that's.... I thought you said only that kid you saw years back could..." Jake's eyes widened "That kid you saw is Derek!"
"Exactly, then his soul was united but his drastic awakening seemed to have caused a crack between them, his emotions are much more sensitive than normal so the situation that caused him to awaken caused a drastic change, Derek is Silver, he awakened as Silver, the cold-hearted man with one agenda, we became teleporters when we awakened, but Derek became a different being but luckily the change is slow, it will take time so we have to make him learn restraint and control," Christopher said while entering the sitting room.
"I don`t know how a human could possess such a vast soul but his powers took a different path, one gave him the seething rage, anger, and the path to vengeance while the other was to keep the balance," Christopher continued while pressing a button on the table and Derek's daggers appeared, his eyes glowed and his vision changed, a black smoke surrounded the western dagger as a cold threatening aura emanated from it while the eastern dagger was surrounded with a cloud of white smoke which also had a cold area though it was calm. "Should he learn control he'll be able to use his powers to the peak, with a good mastery in martial arts and throwing skills he'll be ready" Christopher said with squinted eyes as his eyes stopped glowing, he stared at his arm and his gauge appeared, a whopping ten percent had disappeared from his Genoforce, at his rank such reduction was alarming but it was the price for using soul's eyes.
Christopher knew what he was preparing Derek for, it was a place those who wanted strength and experience needed to go.
Jake slumped on a couch and sighed "It's going to be hard for him" He knew it wouldn't be easy for Derek to fully control his abilities.
Angel pressed her lips and sighed "I know you would say that what if I told you that we were assigned to the frontlines and the probability of the team survival..." She stopped and stared at Derek whose gaze had changed, he couldn't believe what he heard. Angel is a Crawford, how could she be sent to such a dangerous spot? no something must be wrong, no one would try such a thing except if there was a problem. Reading Derek's thoughts Angel confirmed it "Uncle Roland has quite several enemies, most of them have top positions in the army."
"Wait there's a catch"
Angel nodded "I know my family has already prepared an extraction procedure should things go bad, but I can't leave my friends to die"
"Angel you're smarter than this, you are more important!" Derek said without any feelings for the others, though he had good thoughts about Roland when it came to Angel's safety everyone was currently dispensable.
Angel stepped closer and embraced Derek "I can't lose my friends, I've known them for more than four years and..." she couldn't finish her words as Derek spoke, "The nightmare attack won't be happening anytime soon, let's focus on increasing our strength."
"Hmm" Angel nodded as a taxi soon arrived, a kiss on his cheeks was her parting gift as the taxi disappeared into the sea of cars on the road, Derek stood at the same spot with different lights flashing through his eyes, watching as people walk past him and some people laughing with few couples enjoying each other's embrace, these people knew nothing about the sacrifices many soldiers had done just to keep those smile on their faces.
Derek slipped his hands into his pockets and walked away. A new resolve flashed through his mind, those beasts were the ones who killed his parents, and the families of those soldiers will feel the pain while their siblings or children may be bullied by the children of the rich. He would enact vengeance on those that caused his family's death but Christopher was right, he was too weak, what he needed was time but time seemed to be against him.
While in deep thought a loud yell brought him back to reality.
"Leave me alone you bastards!" he heard a scream and turned towards the alley, the lights couldn't reach that spot but he could see human Silhouettes. He shook his head and continued moving when he heard another scream "don't touch that, it is for my mom!."
Derek closed his eyes and opened them, though it was a small action he had made a decision exhaling loudly he turned towards the alley and three words left his lips, though he didn't shout the people there could hear his words as they turned back.
