Chapter 56 Boredom

Name:Manaless Mage Author:Gladstone_
A few days had passed and Harry was currently in the wind element hall.

Since he registered as an Elementalist with three affinities, he was free to train in the wind and earth hall also.

The wind hall was also built and designed similarly to the Lightning hall, the only difference was the colour—in fact, it was safe to say that all the element halls were similar and the only difference between them was their colours.

This was Harry's first time in the wind hall. He hardly visited the other two element halls(wind and earth) as he spent most of the past few weeks in the Lightning hall.

Back then, he was still in the 'foundation developing stage' and it didn't matter the hall he was training in.

However, now he already had a fully developed stage one 'mana core', he had to visit the other two element halls so his wind and earth elemental mana would also develop.

Training in an element hall benefited an Elementalist with that element. For example, Training in the Lightning hall would give more benefit to an Elementalist with the Lightning element and training in the wind hall benefited an Elementalist with wind element more.

However, Harry was different from normal Elementalists as he used neither mana nor elemental mana.

He didn't have to train in a specific element hall to increase the progress of any of his elements, he didn't even have to partake in any elementalist training at all.

But he still had to as he still had to hide his identity as a manaless mage and live his life in the academy as a 'normal' Elementalist.

Every elementalist in the academy were given the same training so Harry didn't have re restart or learn any new thing.

The only thing that changed was the instructors and the hall so he still continued from where he left off in the Lightning hall.

Harry was currently sitting in a lotus position on a familiar yellow mat. He was currently in the mana absorption class, except this time, the aim wasn't to absorb mana from the surroundings but to absorb mana from a beast core.

A small dim pink crystal could be seen in Harry's hand. It was a stage one beast core gotten from a common stage one mana beast called dire wolf—According to the instructor.

Just like it was in the Lightning hall, the instructor was also focused on Harry.

He was also curious to see the progress of the most talented student in the academy.

What Harry did in one month, normal Elementalists did in about five months.

Normally, it would take a normal student or rather Elementalist about four months before getting to this class/stage—mana core absorption.

However, Harry progress and advancement speed was so fast that he was basically absorbing everything like a sponge.

This was mainly because of Harry's high level. The mana absorption speed and 'talent' of Harry's "mana core illusion" depended on his level and overall strength(power).

Since Harry's level was already quite high before he registered as an Elementalist, his 'talent' and 'advancement' had also gotten very high.

Harry's brows twitched slightly as he stared at the system notification that appeared the moment he held the beast core.

——

[Does the Host want to absorb stage one beast core?]

[Yes/No]

——

'Yes.' He said without hesitation.

Although most students would have been excited about the fact that they would be absorbing a beast core, Harry wasn't that hyped up about it.

He had already absorbed a peak stage beast core and he was sure that the amount of EXP he would gain from this stage one beast core would be a lot smaller.

[Absorbing the mana core while simultaneously keeping "mana core illusion" active would lead to slower beast core absorption.]

[Does the Host still wants to absorb the mana core now?]

Harry's face morphed into a slight frown as he read the system message that flashed in front of him. 'Yes.' He replied nonchalantly.

He wasn't that surprised about the message that appeared in front of him, he just didn't like the idea of the slower mana core absorption.

He was already bored with having to pretend like he was truly absorbing mana, this would only add to that boredom.

The duty of 'mana core illusion' was to make him appear as a 'normal' Elementalist to other Elementalists and people.

The skill was more like an 'adaptive skill' as its illusion bends itself to Harry's will and thoughts.

Activating the skill while simultaneously absorbing a beast core would cause the skill to create an illusion of Harry absorbing the mana from the beast core like a normal Elementalist, rather than him just absorbing it as EXP.

[Note: A friendly reminder that mana is mainly EXP for Harry]

The 'slower beast core absorption' was only there to make the instructors and other Elementalists think he was truly absorbing the beast core.

Harry knew the dangers and problems he could face if he wasn't careful enough so he made sure to ask the other voice about all the ways he could cover his 'loose ends'.

[Absorbing Beast core…]

The moment the next system notification appeared, Harry's brows twitched in annoyance and frustration.

'I just have to bare this for… a few more months. Yes… a few months more and that's it.' Harry mumbled inwardly while trying to think of other things to use to distract himself and pass time.

The worst part of it all was that the other voice, which was the only thing that he could converse with during the Elementalist training, hardly spoke a word whenever he was in the element halls.

In actuality, he still had to attend the element classes for about five months, after the inter-academy tournament—which he planned on participating in—Harry would have no other business in the academy as he would have graduated by then.

'Even the peak stage four beast core didn't take this long!' Harry scoffed inwardly.
