294 Asia’s Confession

*************

CHAPTER 294

A hand wrapped on her waist, pulling her body backwards as she hit his chiselled chest She sucked in her breath, her mind becoming calm almost instantly and the stress of the day relieving her.

She did not know why she reacted this way. If there was one thing, she was glad that she did though, especially with his being here.

There was no need to fret. It was him and she welcomed his calm embrace.

His lips nuzzled on the top of her head. And she felt his chest rose and fall against the small of her back when he breathed in her scent.

“These past hours have been torturous for me, Asia. I’m glad I saw you.”

“Aramis.”

Before he got the chance to say anything, she turned around to face him and hugged him tightly. At first, his eyes widened a bit at her action but when she tightened the hug, he relaxed, smiling at her.

.....

“Did someone miss me?”

“I love you.”

When he had asked that question, loving him was the least of the answers he expected her to say. Time seemed to have slowed down as she comprehended her words in his mind.

“I love you, Aramis Avi. And I have missed you so much.”

He could no longer bear with it. He needed to look into her eyes and see for himself that this was no joke.

True enough, after he pulled away from the embrace and glanced down at her, he found his answer.

Her eyes watered a bit while her cheeks puffed up the more in a toothed smile.

“You said?”

“I said Aramis, I love you.”

His eyes searched hers as he spoke, “You really mean it. You are not joking, right? It isn’t a game?”

Asia could feel the hope emanating from it and the joy that threatened to break forth.

“Do you think I would ever lie about that?”

“No. It is just that I never expected it and... Oh my God.” He chuckled light while bringing his hands to cup her face lovingly.

“I love you too, Asia. I love you so much.”

He leaned in, bringing her face closer to his as their lips touched, sending shivers running down their spine.

She did not resist his kiss, not that she planned to, rather she eagerly parted her lips, welcoming his tongue.

They spent the next few minutes kissing passionately. Right now, neither of them could bother that they were in the passageway and anyone, I mean anyone could walk in on them.

What mattered most was the fact that their hearts were one.

How long he had counted the stars waiting for this moment and now, it had finally come. His heart had found rest and it was home.

Nothing could ever change this and he prayed deep within that it lasted.

“Shall we go in? I believe I need to hear something.”

Her cheeks flushed a bit at his statement, causing her to lower her head and hide her shyness.

Could she tell him the reason behind her hesitation or could she not? Regardless, she knew something would be spilt.

“Like what?” Asia asked.

“Like what changed? What happened to the girl who eagerly left me hanging and waiting?”

“Fine then. I would let you in on a secret. Let’s go in.”

Wasting no time, they eagerly got into her room and went for her bed, but not before Aramis stole several kisses from her lips.

“Naughty. Do you want to make out or do you want to listen?”

“Why chose one when I can have both?” He winked at her and then patted the space between them for her to shift closer. “I am all ears, tell me.”

“Okay.” As soon as she began, he tilted his head to the side a bit and placed his lips on the side of her neck as he kissed her softly.

Before long she was having difficulty breathing normally and trying to tell her story. Left with no other choice, she faced him completely, placed both hands on his shoulders and pushed him onto the bed.

“Got you. Now keep still and listen. This is important.”

“Okay. Get off me so that I can focus. I won’t be able to listen properly if you are straddling me.

Obeying, she settled at his side and waited for him to sit up. “Now shoot.”

“My doubt about your love began when I heard you mention the name Asteria in your sleep.” She took a pause and watched his reaction.

True enough, his eyes flickered a bit and his pain returned. “I see. No wonder you hesitated. So what changed?” He asked, trying to change the topic.

“I asked Astoria after she came to caution me not to hurt you if I did not love you.”

“That girl.” He face-palmed himself. “I hope she did not cause trouble?”

“No. In fact, she made me realize. I was told Asteria was your mate and that after her demise, you blocked everyone out.” She waited for his response but got nothing.

His gaze had long drifted from her face to somewhere else in the room.

Finally, he looked at her again, the once smiling face and pained one, gone. “I am guessing that was all she told you, right?”

Asia’s eyes dimmed. “There is more?”

“Yes.” He reached for her hand, placing them between his as he rubbed the back of her palm gently. “It goes back to when we were born, Asteria and I.”

“Do you mind telling me, Please? If it hurts, however, I do not mind not knowing. All that matters is the fact that I know you love me. I am sorry for doubting you earlier.”

“No silly,” he sued his left hand to poke her nose and flicked his finger on her forehead. “There is nothing to apologize for. You deserve to know. I should have known that you were very sensitive. You sensed it each time I thought about her.”

“Yes. Like that day Astoria interrupted us?” He nodded at her. “You still miss her?”

“The honest truth. A part of me still loves her but I...”

She pulled her hand from his and placed a finger across his lips. “Shhh.... She was your mate. Some things cannot change. I am not mad or jealous. You knew her all your life and held on even after her death. It is a natural thing. However, I will be the one occupying it soon and completely.”

She smiled brightly at him. So long as she agreed to be there for him, then by all means he was glad.

“Mind telling me?”

He chuckled lightly. “I knew your curious self would not let me rest,” she giggled at being found out. “Fine, I would tell you.”

Knock! Knock!

Aramis did not get a chance to even complain when Asia pouted at the door. Someone was interrupting her time.

“Just a minute. I would shoo them away.”

“Even if it’s Jade?”

“Especially her.”

“Go on then. She would scold you when she finds out.”

Before she stood up to get to the door, Asia made a few adjustments to her clothes, loosening two buttons on her blouse and shifting one hand down to reveal a bit of skin.

As soon as she opened the door and Jade’s eyes landed on her... they popped wide open as she took a good grasp of the situation. “Sorry!”
