Chapter 53: Housewarming party 1

EDEN ESTATES

SAINT VILLA.

AUGUST MAIJUNE'S ROOM.

Mai walked out of the bathroom wiping her face with a towel and saw Liyah Myers looking at her and said ''you're awake?''

Mai went and sat on the dressing table taking her hairdryer to dry her hair. Liyah Myers sat up and looked at her through the mirror replying ''I'm sorry, for last night''.

Mai looked back at her through the mirror and turned on the dryer before saying ''you should be sorry. Thanks to you, Aaron gave Maijune a scolding last night because of you''.

Liyah Myers looked at her confused and Mai added ''I'm Mai''.

Liyah Myers stood up and walked to her. She stood behind Mai and snatched the hairdryer saying ''I know. You are the one who bullied me the last time at the old mansion, right?''

Liyah Myers used to dryer to blow on Mai's short hair as they chatted.

''Yes, I am the one. Who asked you to be a bitch back then? You were so arrogant, acting like the world belonged to you''. Mai said with a smile.

''I know right? Why did I live that way? Now, I have only myself to blame. I think I deserve what I'm going through''. Liyah Myers said.

''Who said you deserve it? Nobody deserves what you're going through. On what basis must you receive such treatment?'' Mai and Liyah Myers looked at each other through the mirror.

''I really like you. I think you and I have great chemistry, Mai?''

''You…I don't like you''. Mai said with a frown.

''Really? But, I think I like August Maijune. Whether you're August, Mai or Maijune. I just like August Maijune''.

''Tsk. Go and wash up before we go down''. Mai took the dryer from Liyah Myers and turned off make switch. Liyah Myers smiled and went into the bathroom.

Mai and Liyah Myers got down to the hall and saw Aaron Saint preparing breakfast. ''Are you the one preparing breakfast? Where is Aunt Cate?'' Mai asked as she sat on the dining table with Liyah Myers.

''I gave her some days off. Because of what's happening, I didn't want her to get suspicious of anything''. Aaron Saint said as he finished chopping some green and red pepper.

''Then, our breakfast, lunch and supper is going to be on you from now onwards?'' Liyah Myers asked.

Mai turned and looked at her with a frown asking ''our? Do you not plan to leave this place at all?''

''Oh, why should I leave when I get everything for free here?'' Liyah Myers teased.

''Huh? You're more brazen than I thought. Don't you have any shame at all, impeding on us this way?'' Mai asked feeling frustrated.

''Oh, no. Shame? Is that food? Is it edible?'' Liyah Myers looked at Mai interestingly.

''Wow, you two make me speechless''. Aaron Saint put a pot of chicken soup on the table and said to them.

''I thought you two will at least get along. Why are you still bickering like when Maijune was here?''

''I know, right? I guess their telepathy is so strong'' Liyah Myers added.

''Breakfast is ready, stop talking and eat'' Aaron Saint said.

''She is the one provoking me''.

Liyah Myers and Mai continued to bicker as they ate and Aaron Saint just ignored them.

After their breakfast, Mai accompanied Liyah Myers to the grocery shop across the estates to get some groceries for the housewarming party. Liyah Myers wore a long dress and covered her face with a black mask so that no one would recognise her.

They picked a lot of stuff and their carts were full as they finished and pushed them to the counter for their bill.

The cashier put everything into separate poly bags and Mai paid with the black card. The bags were so heavy that they kept stumbling as they walked out and laughed at themselves.

Mai and Liyah Myers kept the bags close to themselves as Mai made a call. Soon Leo Martins arrived in his car and pulled over. He got down from his car and picked all the things into the boot and the ladies entered the car and he drove to the estates.

LIYAH'S VILLA.

HALL.

''You can put everything here, Mai and I will handle the rest''. Liyah Myers said to Leo as he brought in the bags. Leo Martins ignored her and sent the bags to the kitchen. He knew Liyah Myers felt uncomfortable around him, so, he was careful with her.

Leo Martins felt pity for Liyah Myers and somehow that pity made him drawn to her. She used to be so confident and bold but now, she seemed like a timid cat and was too careful and afraid. Anytime, he looked at her, he felt like he wanted to help her.

Leo Martins wished there was something, anything he could help Liyah Myers with but, still he didn't want to rush her. There was still more time to get to know each other. He is someone who loved smart and confident women and he admired how she handled the shareholders meeting three months ago but, she suddenly became like this and he wanted to help her, make her go back to how she was.

Leo Martins excused himself and went out after making sure everything was in place. He didn't want to impose further since they were going to meet again later in the night to celebrate Liyah's move into her new home.

Mai watched Liyah Myers with interest as she tried to avoid Leo every possible way. It was fun seeing her act timid yet would blush at every word or action of Leo Martins.

Liyah Myers opened the fridge and removed two bottles of water and caught Mai smiling and asked ''why do you keep smiling like that?''

Liyah Myers threw the water at her and Mai caught it. She unscrewed the lid and sipped before saying.

''I see you trying so hard to not get sucked into his eyes''.

Mai winked at Liyah Myers and Liyah Myers turned her face away saying ''what are you talking about?''

Mai walked closer to Liyah Myers and put her hand on Liyah's shoulder saying ''I am not really an expert when it comes to love. In times like these, I wished my big sister was here instead. Oh, that little bitch is an expert in flirting. August's main weakness is a beautiful man. She would have taught you on how to behave around Leo Martins.

Unfortunately, you are stuck with a scientist. Bear with it''. Mai patted Liyah Myers' shoulder

Liyah Myers turned and looked at her asking ''Leo Martins. Why is he nice to me?''

''Dear, do you even need to ask? Which man wouldn't be nice to a pretty woman?'' Mai said shaking her head. It looked like all of Liyah's self-esteem was gone.

''But, why? I have a pretty face; but that is all there is. Which man would be nice to a woman like me?'' Liyah Myers lamented.

''Stop, or I will just make a poison that will keep your mouth shut forever. What is wrong with you?''
