Chapter 125 Special Role And Character Rank (1)

Name:Lord of the Karmic Fate Author:Gery_
Sitting inside a small room filled with various monitors, a young man leaned back in his chair with a bored expression, on his lap was a bag of chips visible.

He sat like that for several minutes when suddenly one of the monitors on the side flickered, attracting his attention right away.

"Hm? Oh? It seems someone has started their avatar test?" the young man mumbled and rolled his chair closer to the monitor.

"Let's see... His name is... Raven Wright? Huh? Why does it sound so familiar?" the young man scowled deeply before he shrugged and quickly threw several pieces of chips into his mouth.

"His Rank is 43? Quite average. True Rank 33... Hmm... Now that is something worth praising. His strength must be quite balanced, focusing on everything."

After throwing another handful of chips into his mouth and also taking a sip from the soda can found beside him, the young man wiped his mouth and narrowed his eyes.

"Dice of Fate... Arcane Grade and Complete Form? Hmm... How interesting." the guy hummed, his eyes shimmering with a hint of curiosity.

However, when he spotted which guild Raven was a part of, his hand which was ready to stuff more chips into his mouth froze and suddenly his eyes widened, seemingly realization dawning down on him.

"Black Moon Guild... Raven Wright... Wright... Don't tell me... Is he the son of Lord Wright? But wasn't he reported as someone who had gone missing, for three years no less?"

Thinking about this the guy quickly opened the database on another monitor and typed on the hologram keyboard for a few seconds before the image of a black-haired young man appeared.

"It's definitely him. So after three years, he had been finally found. I wonder where he was all this time. Perhaps he got stuck in a Trap-type Realm Domain? Nah, no one had ever been stuck in one for three years. Then the only plausible explanation would be a Special-type Realm Domain."

Special-type Realm Domains were usually very dangerous to enter because inside them time and space were usually disordered, to the point where one could either get lost completely because of the seemingly limitless space within or die from old age in split seconds because of the accelerated time.

Of course, there existed Special-type Realm Domains where time moved so differently that 1 hour inside there equaled several days outside or the other way around, but luckily those were very few.

"I see. So he must have gone inside such a Realm Domain. That would explain why he had been gone missing for three whole years." the young guy mumbled as he watched Raven summoning his weapon.

"What the hell is that thing? His Artifact? No. It must be a Relic. But why is he not using his Artifact? This way he just risks getting a bad score in the end."

The young guy frowned, however, the very second he witnessed how Raven deflected the beast's assault and killed it with one single strike he froze up.

"That Relic... He can use it for both offense and defense!?"

Shock swept through the young guy before he calmed down and shook his head.

"Well, although that Relic seems to be unique, I doubt it is durable enough to defend against several attacks at the same time. Much less from Strength-type beasts that are a whole Rank above him."

As the young guy said those words his gaze fell on the six beasts before Raven, each having the appearance of a bull with blazing fire visible around their horns and hoofs!

"Six Rank 44 Blazing Oxen. Alone they are easy to kill, however, if there are more than 5 they can easily eradicate smaller groups. Furthermore, with their special trait of Blazing Horns, they can run through and crash their enemy's defenses with ease."

"I wonder if he will be able to pull this of-" the young man didn't even finish his sentence when suddenly his body stiffened and his pupils shrunk to the size of a needle.

Then, after a second later he jumped up onto his feet, ignoring how the tasty chips from the bag fell out onto the ground and stared at the monitor with wide eyes filled with disbelief.

"Impossible! H-How did he do it!?"

Meanwhile, inside the Evaluation Hall Raven stared at the now six headless Blazing Oxen on the ground with a nonchalant look and placed his blade back into its scabbard.

'Hmm... I somewhat feel like I am cheating.'

Because of his Primordial Grade Rune Mark, Raven's strength skyrocketed and exploded through the roof, making those Rank 44 Blazing Oxen look like small ants before him.

'No matter if the difference is one or ten Ranks, until someone is above me in Rank my Rune Mark will automatically get triggered. And the worst is that I can't even decide when it should get activated.'

Raven sighed softly.

'Well, at least I can somewhat control myself and decide just how much strength I wish to use so I won't go over my limits as I have done so during last time.'

Once he finished his line of thought, Raven watched as the six carcasses before him vanished together with the two helpers and the robotic voice sounded in the air.

"Evaluation Difficulty now will be set to Rank 50!"

Whoosh!

In a flash, before Raven 28 beasts appeared, this time each varying in size and shape, seemingly each of them focusing on different Traits.

As for beside him, 4 other individuals appeared, one holding a shield, another a great sword, the third one a longbow, while the last one held two daggers, one in each hand.

"Please defeat your enemies in the fastest way possible!"

"The fight will commence once you say 'ready'."

'Let's change tactics a little.' Raven thought and quickly ordered the four helpers beside him to stand into formation.

The one with the shield together with the one with the great sword stood at the front, he stood on the right side while the one with the two daggers stood on the left side. As for the archer, he ordered him to remain in the back.

'Looks great.' Raven showed a smile and quickly started to battle.

Swish!

"Protect him!" seeing as something flashed past him, targeting the archer, Raven ordered his cloak to move while he swung his blade horizontally, beheading a large serpent that wished to swallow him in a whole.

Clang!

"Great job!"

After killing the creature Raven stomped on the ground and as he dodged the large hammer of a creature that looked like an ugly ogre he appeared beside the archer.

Whoosh!

Raven's eyes flashed coldly as he pushed his weapon forward like a rapier and quickly pierced the flying creature in the heart that tried to ambush the archer.

"Just focus on the ones in the sky!" Raven ordered the archer and without hesitation dashed to the front while leaving his cloak behind.

Whoosh!

Swish!

"You two! Try and take down the big ones

As for the rest, just leave them to us." Raven said loudly as he decapitated a creature with four arms and began to attract the attention of the smaller ones.

'Good! It's working!' Raven showed a smile as he watched how he succeeded in separating the creatures into different groups, helping his comrades to focus on enemies that they could kill with more ease.

With the archer focusing on anything capable of flight he and the rest of his comrades didn't have to fear getting ambushed from the sky. Also, with him and the one with the two daggers taking care of the smaller and more agile abominations on the ground, they lessened the pressure falling on the two on the front, helping them to slowly but surely overwhelm the bigger foes.

Whoosh!

Swish!

Severing the arms of a large gorilla with white furs before piercing his blade into his heart, Raven looked around and watched as now only a single creature remained alive.

The creature, in fact, was a large tree with a massive gaping hole in the middle of its trunk serving as its mouth and several long roots that it used as both its legs and arms, helping it in both movement and attacks!

However, considering how his four helpers joined hands with his cloak seemingly working as a fifth helper, Raven knew it was only a matter of time before the tree was killed.

Swish!

Bam!

And sure enough, after 2 minutes the creature was unable to stand its ground anymore and with a heavy sound fell onto the ground where it was split into half by a large great sword!

"Great job!" Raven showed a wide grin as he watched how all the creatures and beasts that they have killed turned into fragments of white light.

"Evaluation Difficulty now will be set to Rank 55!"

"Please defeat your enemy in the fastest way possible!"

"The fight will commence once you say 'ready'."

'Enemy?' Raven raised a brow, however, to his absolute surprise this time no helpers appeared beside him nor hordes of creatures, but only a single entity.

One that he was very familiar with.

"So it's that bastard, huh?" Raven mumbled, his grip around his weapon's hilt tightening scarcely.
