Chapter 20 - aggrieved

Liang Jia had locked herself in her room and spent the entire afternoon in a daze. She didn't know what to do or what to do, so she didn't dare to go out. She was afraid that if she saw Xia Qin'er and Zhou Xing Chen in the living room, her chest would tighten.

Later on, someone knocked on the door. Xia Xin'er's voice came from outside, "Big Sis Liang Jia, I've prepared dinner. Come out and have some."

Liang Jia opened the door and saw Xia Xin'er wearing a soft nightgown with a light muslin robe on the outside. Her face was full of smiles. She indifferently said "En" and followed Xia Xin'er out of the room.

Zhou Xing Chen had already sat down. Seeing that Xia Xin`er and Liang Jia were coming over, he stood up and pulled out a chair for Xia Xin`er. He let her sit beside him and said to Liang Jia, "Do as you wish."

Liang Jia replied with a smile before seating herself in the chair. Without even raising her eyes to look at Zhou Xing Chen and Xia Xin'er, she lightly said, "Miss Xia, you're such a good cook." She picked up the dishes and ate them gracefully.

Xia Xin`er seemed to have not expected that she would be so rude, not a single word of courtesy. She looked at Zhou Xing Chen sleepily, but seeing that his gaze was focused on Liang Jia who was eating her food, the anger in her heart slowly rose.

She took a blue and white porcelain cup next to her and poured the freshly brewed tea into a teapot.

Xia Xin'er picked up the purple clay teapot and tilted it a little, pouring some green tea into the blue and white porcelain cup. The color was warm and extremely beautiful. She shook the blue and white porcelain cup, and a faint aroma of tea leaked out.

Liang Jia's looked up and saw Xia Xin'er staring at her with a smile. For a moment, she didn't understand what was going on.

At this moment, Xia Xin'er carried a teacup and walked over, pretending to be honoring the tea. She smiled and said, "Big Sis Liang, when I see you, I feel close, just like my elder sister."

Liang Jia raised her eyebrows without a trace.

Xia Xin'er continued to say: "So, Xin'er wishes a toast to elder sister. Because elder sister's body isn't good and isn't suitable for drinking wine, Xin'er specifically changed the teacup. Elder sister, don't reject Xin'er." As he spoke, he glanced timidly at Liang Jia. She looked really cute, just like a sister next door.

Liang Jia raised a gentle smile and stretched out her hand to receive it. "Of course I won't reject Miss Xia's good intentions."

Liang Jia's finger just happened to touch the cup. Xia Xin'er's eyes flashed with a ruthless light. She lightly twirled her pinky, tilted the cup, and poured a cup of boiling water in Liang Jia's direction.

"Ah — —" Xia Xin'er's hands were stained with a few drops of blood as she pretended to cry out in pain.

Zhou Xing Chen immediately stood up, wanting to examine the burn wound on Liang Jia's hand, but seeing that she was biting her lower lip, he frowned slightly. Although his eyes were filled with pain, he didn't have any intention of asking for help. He suddenly wanted to see Liang Jia's reaction, which had been ignored.

Thus, he quickly walked to Xia Xin'er's side and comforted her with a gentle voice: "Is it very painful?" Xia Xin'er nodded. Zhou Xing Chen helped her to sit on the sofa, then he took out a medical kit from the cabinet and half-knelt before her to apply the medicine …

Looking at the two people sitting not far from the table, Liang Jia suddenly felt sad and wronged. This was the first time this word had appeared in her mind.

"Xing Chen, when will we get married next month?" Xia Qin'er looked shyly at the man who had bandaged her wound.

Zhou Xing Chen stared blankly at her for a moment, not understanding why she had suddenly asked this question. Out of the corner of his eyes, he saw Liang Jia sitting at the dining table, staring blankly at an unknown spot. Whether intentionally or unintentionally, he raised his voice and said, "Tell me, what you've chosen is good."

"How about — Number Ten?"

Zhou Xing Chen placed a kiss on Xia Xin'er's arm and said, "It's good that you like it."

Xia Xin`er smiled sweetly as she grabbed onto Xing Chen's neck and said, "I knew you would treat me the best."

He buried his head in his neck again, muttering to himself over and over, "Xing Chen, I really can't leave you." Her gaze drifted past the dining table, and when she saw Liang Jia lost in thought, she felt a burst of pride and happiness in her heart. She hugged the man beside her even more tightly.

Liang Jia's phone rang. Li Yin's name flashed on the screen. She adjusted her breathing and tried to smile. "Little Yin."

"Sis, how are you? Did Zhou Xing Chen do anything to you? "Where are you now?"

Suddenly hearing Li Yin's caring tone, Liang Jia almost cried out. She calmed down and said, "I'm fine. In Zhou Xing Chen's villa, it's very quiet and the environment is very good. You don't have to worry."

After a moment of silence, he said, "I heard that Xia Xin'er is also here."

"Yes," Liang Jia pretended to be relaxed. "Xia Xin'er and I don't have any conflicts. It's fine."

"But I'm still worried. Sis, why don't you …"

Liang Jia's hands suddenly became empty as she turned her head in shock. Her eyes met a pair of long and narrow eyes that were deep and narrow.

Zhou Xing Chen gripped the phone tightly in his hand, the medicine box in his other hand. His expression was terrifyingly gloomy.

"Clank —" He dropped the medicine chest and hung up.

"He's complaining to Li Yin?" There was no emotion in his voice, but the blue veins throbbing on his forehead indicated the intensity of the anger of the person in front of him.

"No!"

Without waiting for Liang Jia to finish, Zhou Xing Chen stepped forward and pinched her jaw. Looking at her pained expression, he viciously said, "Are you trying to tell me how I mistreated you?!"

Liang Jia shook her head with all her might and finally broke free. She stood up and tears rolled down the corners of her eyes.

She put some distance between herself and him and stood by the bright French windows.

The moon was as cool as water as it fell down from the sky, dyeing Liang Jia's entire body with halos of light. The wind blew and a few falling flowers slowly floated down. Liang Jia's absolutely beautiful face was filled with desolation.

She said, "What are you doing? What are you trying to do?"

Zhou Xing Chen frowned, but he didn't say anything. He simply looked at her.

"You know, I can't help it. Why are you like this? No matter what I do, you have to stop me. You obviously don't love me!"

Hearing this, Zhou Xing Chen's slender eyebrows relaxed, his lips curling into a smile of mockery. "All of these were taught to me by you."
