Chapter 180 G-Medicine 2

The sound of their voices reverberated across the room, drawing the attention of others nearby. Soon, a crowd had gathered around them, peering curiously at the small video playing on the phone.

"Wow, someone's doing squats with a 140kg barbell!"

"Nah, it's definitely fake."

The skeptical murmurs rippled through the crowd. These were professionals, after all, intimately familiar with the gruelling physical demands of squatting with such an enormous weight.

Suddenly, a voice cut through the skepticism. "Hey, wait a minute, isn't that Yu Wu from the ZJ provincial team right there beside him?"

"Oh yeah, it is Yu Wu! I recognize him!"

The revelation that a genuine weightlifter was present at the scene sparked excitement and speculation. Could the video actually be authentic after all?

And so began the video's journey. Its viral spread soon saw it make its way into the WeChat group of the weightlifting team, where the debate raged on. While most remained convinced that the video was a hoax, a few brave souls dared to believe it might just be the real deal.

In the office, the weightlifting team's head coach, Zhu Jinming, was intrigued by a video he had watched repeatedly, believing it to be authentic. His heart raced excitedly at the prospect of recruiting the young master in the video. If true, this individual could be a game-changer for the team.

As he watched the video again, Zhu Jinming's assistant approached him. "Coach Zhu, do you need anything?" she asked.

Zhu Jinming turned to her, his eyes still fixed on the video. "I need to find out who this young man is in the video. He could be the missing piece in our team."

Meanwhile, in the ocean's depths, Bawang was busy retrieving wreckage from a plane crash site more than three thousand meters below the surface.

With careful precision, the massive creature used its front paws and mouth to lift the bulky wreckage. The process was slow due to the high resistance underwater, but Bawang successfully transported the wreckage to a flat seabed at a depth of over one hundred meters.

After examining the section of the wreckage for any secondary damage, Bawang felt a pang of hunger and consumed over twenty tons of food nearby.

As Overlord swam even deeper to the seabed, over three thousand meters below, in the hope of getting some particular thing.

Later that day, Liu Yong finished work, and Chen Hu drove him away from the company.

During the drive, Chen Hu informed Liu Yong about the call he had received earlier. "Boss, the head coach Zhu Jinming of the National Weightlifting Team contacted me personally," he said.

Upon watching the video, Liu Yong knew that the weightlifting team would eventually approach him. He showed no surprise and calmly asked Chen Hu, "What about you? What are your plans?"

Chen Hu replied, "Boss, I will follow your orders."

While Liu Yong acknowledged the glory that representing the country could bring, he had his ideas. Yan Guo's weightlifting was already vigorous, and Chen Hu's skills in weightlifting were optional.

Liu Yong believed they should utilise Chen Hu's physical abilities in Yan Guo's weak points, such as track and field events like sprinting, high jumping, and long jumping.

"Good steel should be used on the blade," Liu Yong pondered momentarily and suggested, "You can tell coach Zhu Jinming that you have excellent physical fitness and can try out for the 100-meter race."

Chen Hu's eyes lit up with excitement but also lacked some confidence, "Boss, can I really perform in the 100 meters?"

Liu Yong reassured him confidently, "Of course, I will give you another gene-drug tomorrow, and you can go to the Olympics and win a few gold medals. It's almost a matter of hand."

Chen Hu felt grateful and willing to follow Liu Yong's guidance.

He knew firsthand the power of genetic medicine; after taking it twice, he had already felt a significant increase in his strength.

He can now squat with a 140 kg barbell for strength training in a group of 20 without any issues.

The next day, Chen Hu confidently walked into Liu Yong's office and greeted him. "Boss, I'm here," he said.

Liu Yong smiled and replied, "Good morning, Chen Hu. I trust you're ready for what's ahead?"

Chen Hu nodded eagerly. "Things are already ready," he said.

"I'm ready for anything."

Liu Yong opened his desk drawer and pulled out a small vial of liquid. "This is a 'genetic drug,'" he explained. "Drink it now, and there's no problem in winning a few gold medals in the World Series."

Chen Hu took the vial and downed the liquid in one go. "Thank you, boss," he said gratefully.

Liu Yong waved a hand dismissively. "Don't thank me yet," he said. "You still have to put in the work. Exercise well over the next two days to promote the full absorption of the medicine."

Chen Hu left the office feeling excited and grateful. Liu Yong then opened the pet panel and gave Chen Hu 100 points each for constitution and agility.

"Now, Chen Hu is a true superman," Liu Yong remarked. "I can't wait to see what he can do."

"Coach, I want to participate in track and field events," he said confidently.

Zhu Jinming was taken aback. "What? Track and field events?"

He exclaimed.

"But you're a weightlifter! You have a talent for weightlifting that few people have."

Chen Hu was undeterred. "I want to try something new," he said.

"I think I can do well in track and field."

Zhu Jinming tried to dissuade Chen Hu, emphasizing the importance of sticking to his strengths. But Chen Hu remained determined, and Zhu Jinming eventually relented.

"Fine," he said. "I have an acquaintance in the Huahai Sports Bureau. Let's test your 100-meter running score first."

Chen Hu arrived with Liu Yong at the Huahai Sports Bureau the following day. He met Director Yan Jiazhi, who was tasked with overseeing the test.

"You are Chen Hu," Yan Jiazhi said, sizing him up. "Let's see what you're made of."
