Chapter 340 Familiar Voice

Name:Legacy of the Dark Sage Author:
All the members of the Blacksmith Order heaved a sigh of relief upon seeing Celine.

A few seconds ago they were almost out of their wits on how to save Disciple Tyr.

Hall Master Celine's timely arrival had really saved them from their predicament.

On the other hand, Kyran furtively looked at Celine's back, feeling somewhat uneasy seeing her again. He already sensed her coming but did not really think much of it at first. But now that she was here, he suddenly recalled how they met a few years ago and felt mixed emotions.

Kyran admitted that it had not been a pleasant one, especially when he recalled how he had threatened her in the abandoned warehouse. After that, he had to deal with so many things and completely forgot about her.

Sighing inwardly, Kyran realized how immature and unstable he had been five years ago. Back then he was easily moved by his emotions and yet he could not fully back his recklessness.

Right now... well as Disciple Tyr, he appeared reckless but only because that was how he wanted to portray him.

Pushing the random thought to the back of his mind, Kyran observed Celine's magic energy. He sensed how much her energy had improved the last time they met.

Most likely, in the short time (based in real-time) he had not seen Celine, she gained enlightenment with her magic and had achieved a breakthrough. Though she was clearly still at a Magus level, she did not appear that weak anymore.

"Don't you think you ought to educate your subordinates to avoid speaking such malicious words to other people, little Toby?"

Celine said with a sweet smile.

As soon as the people nearby heard how she addressed Tobias, they sensed how the tension in the air intensified. They immediately took a furtive glance over Tobias and sure enough, they saw the latter seething with anger.

Tobias kept his calm expression, even though he wanted nothing more than to wipe the smug smile off Celine's face.

Unfortunately, he knew well enough not to mess with this woman. Not because she was already a Magus, but because she was simply an insufferable person when crossed.

Anyway, right now, Tobias was more annoyed at the people from the Royal Family hiding nearby. They were supposed to prevent anyone from interfering with their business and yet, Celine bypassed them easily.

With narrowed eyes, Tobias looked at Celine. He said, "Greetings Hall Master Celine. I would suggest that you do not interfere with our business. This is a matter between the Lumley Family and Disciple Tyr from the Blacksmith Order. If you interfere again, I just might take it as if the Mercenary Hall is challenging the authority of the Lumley Family."

Still wearing a sweet smile, Celine chuckled slightly as she looked at Tobias. She said, "Is that a threat, little Toby?"

A vein popped on Tobias's forehead as he glared at her. But he still kept a calm expression and through gritted teeth, he replied "Hall Master Celine, do not call me little Toby."

Celine raised her brows and replied, "Why not, little Toby? Are you feeling shy? Don't worry, I only refer to you as little just like how an older generation endearingly calls a younger one... not because yours is..."

Her voice trailed as her eyes traveled down a little at Tobias's body before she chuckled in a very mischievous yet seductive way.

Tobias flared in anger.

"You!" He growled.

Unfortunately, that was all he could do —growl in frustration.

Every female member of the order could not help but redden at Celine's innuendo, while the male members tried their best not to laugh.

Even the two Grand Masters behind Tobias was looking at him uneasily.

Kyran, on the other hand, kept an indifferent expression but in actuality, he had been silently observing Celine after using her magic when speaking. Everything she had said had been veiled with her magic and even though Tobias had created a magic barrier, it did nothing to prevent her magic's influence from passing through.

Seeing that she had succeeded in ruffling Tobias's feathers, Celine's expression changed suddenly. From looking sweetly at them, her expression turned cold as she said, "You barge in here, hurt one of my people and dare to tell me that I have no right to interfere?"

The magic energy in the surroundings crackled as soon as Celine had spoken.

Her magic pressure erupted and instantly shattered Tobias's magic barrier.

"Gwah!"

Tobias and the other two Grand Masters coughed out a mouthful of blood as the magic energy in their bodies became unstable. Unable to properly control their magic energy, all three were forced to land on the ground.

As Tobias landed, he recalled what Celine had just said and felt his scalp go numb. That was right. Disciple Tyr was not only an Array Specialist but also a Mercenary! Why had they forgotten that?

This would not do. It was one thing to make the Blacksmith Order their enemy, but to also get on the Mercenary Hall's bad side? That was something they had to avoid.

For one thing, the Lumley Family only had one Magus, while the Mercenary Hall had two! There were rumors that Chairman Hugh was suffering from an illness, but that had not been confirmed yet.

Another thing was, the Mercenary Hall had a variety of mages and combat mages, and all of their weapons and magic items were made by the Blacksmith Order and some were even made by Chairman Noir and President Sigma!

The Lumley Family could not possibly contend with the Mercenary Hall when the latter had the military capability to vie against the Templar Code and Aureole, unless the former could get the Courtenay and Montgomeray Families to help.

'No! Stop!' Tobias shook his head inwardly. He must not entertain such thoughts! He had to prevent this incident from escalating further.

Their actions might be under direct orders from the Royal Family, but they were only asked to attack the Blacksmith Order's Disciple Tyr, not the Mercenary Hall's Tyr.

"H-Hall Master Celine," Tobias started as he struggled to look up.

He already knew that the magic pressure Celine exuded was not simple. He had a feeling that the real reason why they could not properly control their magic energy was because she had activated her domain!

"S-Stay your hand, p-please. I-I never intended to harm one of your people. I was only testing, Disciple Tyr's capabilities. It is not often that I meet a mage whose understanding of his innate magic is as deep as Disciple Tyr has for his magic."

Kyran raised his brows after hearing Tobias's excuse. The latter's last attack had the intention of killing him. Though Tobias's killing intent was not apparent, because of Kyran's understanding of the former's magic, he would have ended up getting mutilated.

Of course, that would have been the result if he really only possessed strengthening magic. But Kyran's 'strenthening magic' was only a camouflage. It was a combination of Void magic, Strengthening magic, and also Draconic magic. If Tobias's attack hit him, he could easily counter it. But if that happened, then he would have to make up a story on how he did that. After all, Tobias's magic was considered a low-risk forbidden magic. No matter how one looked at it, 'Tyr's' Strengthening magic should not be able to defend against it.

In any case, Celine's arrival saved him a lot of trouble. And while he wanted to puke at Tobias's lame excuse, Kyran chose to stay silent and let Celine handle it.

p Besides, Kyran believed Celine came here not because 'Tyr' was also a member of the Mercenary Hall, but because Chairman Noir or maybe President Sigma had asked her to come.

Kyran only wondered how much Celine knew about 'Tyr.' After all, she was the Mercenary Hall's Hall Master and was privy to some classified information.

"Did you really think I am blind?" Celine retorted, her brows furrowed slightly. Though her voice remained soft, the sudden drop in surrounding's temperature was enough to understand her mood. "That last attack, could easily crush anyone below a High Master."

Tobias shook his head at once.

The two Grand Master behind him also did the same.

"No, no. Though my attack appeared deadly, at the last couple of seconds, I do plan on retracting it," Tobias reasoned.

"Retract it and suffer a backlash? Do yo think I'm a fool, little Toby?" Celine's voice dropped in an instant.

"H-Hall Master Celine, we are under Tobias's instruction to assist in containing the attack in the last seconds!" One of the Grand Master while lowering his head.

"T-That is right, Hall Master. Please, be lenient!" The other also chimed in.

"Humph," Celine harumphed as she crossed her arms across her chest. "You think I'll believe you after witnessing your gloating when you thought MY Tyr exploded?"

Kyran's brow instantly twitched when he heard Celine said, 'my Tyr.' He could not help but clear his throat because of this.

Even the members of the order all gaped at Celine and Kyran incredulously.

Tobias and the two Grand Masters also gaped at Celine, speechless. It appeared, they had stepped on an unexpected landmine.

Kyran cleared his throat once again and finally spoke, "Er... Hall Master. If you speak that way, they will get the wrong idea. I know you find me handsome, a lot of people do, but please try to control yourself."

Blacklines all appeared on every members' head upon hearing Kyran's words.

Even Tobias and the two Grand Masters looked at Kyran as if he had gone mental.

While all of them were thinking this, Celine on the other hand was suddenly struck dumb. Not because 'Tyr's' words infuriated her but because she recognized his voice!

Celine possessed Sound magic, thus, it was easy for her to recognize and even remember every sound she had heard before. The only exception was, if a person used a sound altering spell, or concealing spell to mask a sound. The alteration could still affect her senses.

However, right now, she was 100% positive that 'Tyr' was not using any sound altering spell. Even if he was, he could not possibly produce the same voice as that 'person'!

Could this mean... that Tyr's identity was really...

Celine's heart started to pound.
