Chapter 456  The Battle of the Four Races, part 3/?

The auras of death and calmness clashed on the horizon. However, before Vesuvius analyzed the situation, the world turned white, everything gone, leaving only an endless space of pure whiteness and holy energy behind.

The shockwaves once again rippled the space, and the angelic blades once more smashed against his barrier, cutting through it and releasing blades of pure light that continued toward the dragon, dissolving with each centimeter they passed.

The dragon disappeared and rematerialized further away in the white space, more and more of his energies flowing to reinforce his barrier. The lights flashed around him in a kaleidoscopic mosaic as the angels circled at staggering speeds.

The ripples after the impacts of the angelic attacks sent waves across the protective bubble around him.

'No, I must return back to the physical world. I have to waste even more of my energy reserves.' Vesuviuse's domain fully expanded and filled the entire white space with his own presence that belonged only to him while his mind analyzed the situation, trying to find a solution.

'Teleport outside? No, that would be toothless and only delaying—I need to smash this entire space to tatters and take some of the angels with it.'

A bright golden light lit up as the majestic golden crown of pure divine energy manifested on his head. Mana flowed and surged through his body, flowing and transforming into the almighty golden energy.

The angelic attacks sped up, and the white light flashes brightened as the angels swished and orbited around him in the whirlwind of their sacred swords, chipping upon his barrier.

"Execute!"

"Purify!"

Like a swarm of fanatical bees, the angels intensified their attack, the thick laser-like rays of holy light and the swords of divine light diamonds exploding on contact with his protective barrier.

? ? ? ? ?

Vesuvius didn't relent as he gathered his power and focus, 'Panicking would make it only worse.'

The entire space revolted, and the rays of light descended upon him from every centimeter of the white space, burning and clashing against his protective barrier, fueled by the ocean of his mana and lifeforce.

'Now!' At once, thousands of shining magic rings manifested throughout his entire domain, dissolving in the flood of light, the glowing magic symbols washed away like paint in a river.

'Not good. It looks like I need to double down.' The dragon kept his coolness and calm as he devised the counterattack.

Then the space rippled again, and the world of fire and ice with its pitch-black background overlapped with the white reality of the two existences pushing against each other. With each fraction of the second that passes, the whiteness prevailed, slowly becoming more material as it suppressed the dragon's divine kingdom.

The sheer power of the identical holy kingdoms of multiple angels perfectly overlapping suppressed his own divine kingdom with their pure quantity.

However, just that moment was enough as all the magic circles restructured and the cracks in them mended before they burst into golden flames, the dragon's mana and divine force vanishing to fuel all of them.

'Done.' The golden inferno swallowed everything, incinerating the entire world. The reality collapsed, and cracks opened, revealing the chaotic battle outside. The ground was melted and cracked, the air clouded by dark clouds violently spinning in the red demonic vortex.

POV T:

"Ahhhh!" A shockwave shattered the black granite floor and cracked the tall pillars supporting the tall vaulted ceiling decorated with thousands of brass ornaments.

The black-haired woman was bent in her waist, her long, red crystal claws holding back a giant axe that pushed against them. The tall mountain-like player decked from toe to his head in armor so thick one could use it to armor an armored car grinned below his helmet.

The entire chamber was in shambles, with broken and burned pieces of chairs strewn all around. The blood splattered the previously spotless walls of black marble, and the dead bodies of those that stayed loyal moveless bled on the floor.

"Why?!" They gave them land and power, yet they became disloyal and ungrateful traitors. She couldn't understand how ungrateful the mortals could be.

The elite immortals they trusted to protect their territories stood amid the bloodshed, all their weapons aiming straight at her.

"Huh, isn't it obvious? We want the golden marrow!"

"So, you have betrayed us for your greed..."

"No, out of desperation. The fucking world is ending. We want to survive and we need every bit of power we could get."

There was nothing but pure disgust in her; the very own vassals they gave lands to have betrayed them at the moment of their greatest weakness. She didn't even care for their excuses—she wanted them to suffer for their crimes.

'They were supposed to be only a temporary solution to secure the territories. However, it backfired again.'

She wanted to fight, but she was trapped, backtabbed, and outnumbered—the entire palace was empty, every soldier gone in the war, only a few guards left behind.

'There is not enough left to stop them...'

She grasped for air as she remained of the pain stabbing through her left hip—a small silver dagger sticking out of it. Her knees trembled, and the feeling of boiling warmth constantly wreaked havoc across her body.

'Poison! Strong, very strong one.' She was furious. Not only did they sin against her master, but they did it in the most despicable and cowardly way.

No, matter how much she tried to invoke her magic to burn them, only a pathetic, neon-red flame the size of a fist flashed before fizzling out, the poison destroying and devouring all her mana.

"Like it? We found it in a dungeon. Now, tell us where are you hiding it!" The immortal's eyes gleamed as they slowly approached her and surrounded her.

Still, a devious smile formed on her face as she found a solution, her pitifully sounding voice making her almost flinch in disgust, "Ohhh, I will show. Please, just let me live. I will lead you there!"
