The work started from next morning, after breakfast, Chris worked with the Weasleys and Hermione. Chris didn't use magic in front of Mrs. Weasley, but as soon as she was gone, the rooms were cleaning with a snap of fingers. Luckily when Mrs. Weasley looked surprised, Fred and George said they were using magic. Though Sirius and Lupin clearly suspected Chris.

At evening, when Mrs. Weasley went to prepare dinner leaving Chris, Hermione, Ginny, Ron and the Weasley twins to finsh cleaning a bed room for Charlie, a house-elf edged into the room.

Except for the filthy rag tied like a loincloth around its middle, it was completely naked. It looked very old. Its skin seemed to be several times too big for it and though it was bald like all house-elves, there was a quantity of white hair growing out of its large, batlike ears. Its eyes were a bloodshot and watery gray, and its fleshy nose was large and rather snoutlike.

The elf took absolutely no notice of Chris and the rest. Acting as though it could not see them, it shuffled hunchbacked, slowly and doggedly, toward the far end of the room, muttering under its breath all the while in a hoarse, deep voice like a bullfrog's, ". . . She's no better, nasty old blood traitor with her brats messing up my Mistress's house, oh my poor Mistress, if she knew, if she knew the scum they've let in her house, what would she say to old Kreacher, oh the shame of it, Mudbloods and werewolves, poor old Kreacher, what can he do . . ."

"Hello Kreacher." Hermione said politely.

Kreacher looked furious.

"The filthy Mudblood is talking to Kreacher as though she is my friend..."

Fred made a violent move towards Kreacher, the others were about to snap at him, when Chris said in cold, loud and clear voice.

"I dare you to say that again."

"Another filthy Mud..." Kreacher stopped as soon as he looked at Chris.

"Finish that sentence if you can." Chris said with a same cold voice.

Kreacher was staring at Chris's eyes, without moving, like he was hypnotized.

Everyone else also stopped at their places to watch what's happening, Hermione was trying to stop Chris from scaring the house-elf.

Chris didn't pay much attention to them, she just stare at the house-elf with a cold, murderous gaze. She was testing, if her magical aura which applies on the magical creatures and Dementors, does applies on the house-elves too or not.

Turns out it does.

"Kreacher... begs.... mercy." Kreacher mumbled after shuddering few times under her gaze.

"If I ever saw or heard you saying any bad things to others..." Chris warned. "or if you try to harm anyone.."

"Kreacher will... remember." he mumbled again but this time looking down. "Please... forgive Kreacher."

"Alright. Out then." Chris said harshly.

Kreacher nodded and obediently walked out of the room.

"How did you do that?" Ron asked.

"I'm not surprised." Ginny said smugly. "My best friend can control Dementors and you think a house-elf will be a problem? Nah.. I don't think so."

"But Chris shouldn't have behaved like that. I mean Kreacher was so scared." Hermione said sadly.

"He just called you a..." Fred said angrily. "you-know-what Hermione. Don't defend him."

While the others were talking Chris switch back into her normal calm self.

"He's just an house-elf. It's not his fault he believes in blood purity and all." Hermione said. "He's just raised like that. If you behave nicely..."

"So you can behave nicely with Malfoy and expects him to change?" Chris asked.

"What? Why?" Hermione looked at her surprised.

"You know, he's also raised like that. It's not his fault either." Chris explained. "But he's still a jerk."

"But he's a wizard, that's different from house-elves." Hermione tried to protest.

"I thought you were against that people treats house-elves different from wizards."

"Er... No I mean..."

"Save your breath, Hermione." Chris smiled. Now listen, you can't change him, no matter how nicely you behave. Like you said, he's raised like that. So let it go. You're not going to achieve anything from this. All house-elves are not Dobby, and they'll never be, Hermione."

"But.. if we don't try..."

"I don't differentiate wizards and house-elves either, Hermione." Chris said. "Wizard, house-elf or any other magical or non-magical creature, if they're going to insult or harm my friends, I'll not let go that easily."

Next afternoon Charlie arrived. He greeted everyone of them and talked to Chris for sometimes about his Dragons.

"Remember the Hungarian Horntail? I'm in charge of her, few days ago." Charlie said grinning. "Her kids are getting big."

"Oh, Now I really want to see them." Chris said wistfully. "I've never seen baby Dragons."

"We've." Hermione and Ron said at the same time.

"How?"

"Hagrid won a Dragon egg once." Ron said. "It was amusing incident."

"Right. Norberta. She's very big now." Charlie said. "And dangerous too."

"Norberta?" Chris said. "Tell me the entire story."

"It started when Hagrid's won a Dragon egg from a stranger..." Hermione started.

All afternoon before Dumbledore came for meeting they talked and laughed about the incident with the Dragon and Hagrid in Hermione and Ron's first year.

After all the Order members went to the Kitchen, Fred and George started to slip their extendable ears in the door but before they can Mrs. Weasley caught them.

"HOW DARE YOU?" Chris heard Mrs. Weasley's screaming before she, Hermione and Ginny could join Fred and George. Ginny pulled both of them back to the room as Mrs. Weasley shouted a little more and snatched all of their extendable ears then went back to the meeting.

It was hardly five minutes after that when the door bell rung loudly, followed by a loud scream. Chris ran out to see what's going on.

"Filth! Scum! By-products of dirt and vileness! Half-breeds, mutants, freaks, begone from this place! How dare you befoul the house of my fathers —"

Chris looked down at the first floor landing as Mrs. Weasley and Sirius went to open the door. A unshaven man in a tattered overcoat entered hurriedly.

"Dumbledore! Dumbledore!" he shouted over the screeching woman.

Sirius and Mrs. Weasley started working with some flying curtains, from where the woman were screaming, Chris guessed.

"What happened Mundungus?" Dumbledore came into sight as the sound of woman screeching stopped.

"Dementors!" said the man with frightened voice. "Attacked 'Arry Potter."
