It was Monday, the first Monday of the week after the club incident.

Me and Yui were in the Japanese language teacher’s room with Susanoo to tell what had happened yesterday.

Of course, we were not going to provide all of the information.

We kept Sugita’s information from him.

It was not decided that Susanoo could be trusted.

Worst case scenario is that Susanoo had led me and Yui to that drug party to kill us.

Though I don’t think he would think that such a level of force can confront me….

「Variant drug party? I see….」

Susanoo made an unusually grim face and gently patted the gold pocket watch he had taken out of his pocket.

「It’s very kind of you to tell me. I’ll look into it myself.」

If Susanoo could solve the problem, it would save us a lot of trouble and even prevent unnecessary damage.

「And what are you two going to do now?」

「The usual. If there’s another venue for a drug party, we’ll find it and shut it down.」

We’ll continue to gather information because we really want to cut off the root of the problem. However, I’m not sure if we will be able to get that information….

Next time, I might keep at least one of the variants we found at the party alive and try to interrogate it.

However, if we hold back on them in a crowded venue, there might be human casualties.

Last time, there was a risk of that so I took the initiative and killed him instantly.

「Good grief. You sound like a variant hunter. If you go too far, rather than being intimidated by you, they might target you.」

「You’re supposed to be enemies with the organization in the first place. In short, nothing will change even if our identity is exposed. Though I must admit, being targeted in a daily basis by small fries is troublesome.」

Me aside, it is impossible for Yui to stay alert 24 hours a day.

Yui is now able to defeat dark Valkyries easily but if she is attacked when she has her guard down, she will not be safe.

In addition, it would also be tricky to corner them so badly. Even a trapped mouse will bite a cat.

That’s what happened to the humans when the demons invaded in the other world.

「You are powerful enough to say that but….」

「We’ll be fine. By the way, what are you going to do about today’s physical examination? Teachers must go too, right? 」

「I don’t know about other country’s mythological beings but I can speak for the high ranking Japanese mythical beings. Our x-rays will show that we have healthy bodies.」

「What about blood? When you variants get injured, instead of red blood, something like purple smoke comes out.」

「That’s not a problem. When we are mimicking humans, we bleed normal blood.」

Does that mean when they are mimicking humans, they are only as powerful as humans?

「Want to try?」

As if reading my thoughts, powerful magic power leaked from Susanoo’s body.

「No, I don’t have a reason to fight you yet.」

My current assessment of Susanoo is not an ally but useful.

「How about you? Are you going to take up the physical exam? You’re too strong to be considered human.」

「High school students….don’t need to be barium x-rayed during physical exams.」

「Barium? You know a lot about old people’s checkups.」

「I’m a diligent guy.」

Because I used to get checked up like that when I was a 40ish salary man.

「The class is about to start. Let’s go.」

I left the room without waiting for Susanoo’s reply.

His reaction gave no indication as to how much he knew about the drug party.

He had a much better poker face than I had expected.

Though I doubt if they had the same meaning of facial expressions as humans.

The school had been bustling with preparations for the physical examination since morning.

An x-ray car for teachers had already arrived outside.

It’s still early morning but everyone’s already having a hard time.

In the midst of all this, I passed several doctors and nurses in white coats——-nurses, are there already nurses like them this time?

I guess there are already male nurses. How unusual.

To my surprise, I saw a familiar face among them.

Sugita

He made eye contact with me for a split second but quickly looked away.

So, that guy was a doctor.

I passed by him, staring at his face, but he never looked at me.

I thought his job would make it easier for him to approach me.

However, I know that it would be troublesome if his colleagues asked him why he knew a high school student.

I could tell that but I’m curious about the face he made as he ignored me.

I’m not sure what to say but he didn’t look….surprise or impatient but even suspiciously furrowed his eyebrows.
