Book 6: Chapter 7:1: Queen of Sheba! Part 1

“Yes, Master,” Diarmuid replied, suddenly materializing behind Kayneth, then bowing and vanishing as if he had never been there. It turned out Diarmuid had always been at Kayneth’s side, protecting him in his Spiritual Body form.

Kayneth suddenly recalled his Servant and scoffed, “Fourteen Servants in a seven-on-seven setup, huh? It’s starting to get interesting.”

If only my student, Waver, hadn’t stolen my prepared holy relic for Alexander the Great, I wouldn’t have had to scramble for a replacement and end up summoning Diarmuid—the man known for assassinating his own king.

[TL Note: Waver Velvet is Kayneth’s student, but you can read the link for more information. The holy relic for summoning Alexander the Great later gets used to summon Iskandar, the adult aspect of Alexander the Great. There is also a youthful aspect; the two aspects are portrayed as different characters. Waver...since my incompetent student dared to steal a holy relic, it suggests he might also participate in the Holy Grail War.

However, Kayneth shook his head and dismissed this thought, doubting his student had the qualifications to become a Master. If he were to encounter Waver in the Holy Grail War, he would certainly have to reassess his daydreaming pupil.

“When I return to the Clock Tower with the Holy Grail, we’ll settle this, my foolish student,” Kayneth murmured to himself. He had no doubts about his victory in the Holy Grail War; his participation was simply a means to burnish his reputation.

The Holy Grail? Could a rural Magian family create something trustworthy? Enter the Root? It wasn’t that Kayneth didn’t want to access the Root—no proper Magus would pass up that opportunity. He just didn’t believe this so-called Holy Grail could accomplish such feats.

Ever since his student days, Kayneth had displayed enormous talent, enough to be called a prodigy. He excelled at anything he put his mind to, which gave him his confidence.

I—Kayneth—a Lord of the El-Melloi Faction, one of the 12 Lords of the Clock Tower, the Lord of the Department of Mineralogy, the ninth-generation head of the Archibald family, a Magus of remarkable accomplishments, a First-class lecturer of the Clock Tower’s Department of Spiritual Evocation, am engaged to Sola-Ui Nuada-Re Sophia-Ri, the daughter of the head of the Department of Spiritual Evocation. How can I lose when victory is practically guaranteed? How could I possibly lose? As Kayneth thought this, he smiled.

[TL Note: Well, there’s quite a lot to unpack here. Anyway, here are all the links to the various terms from the Fate series. Thinking about his lovely fiancée brought a smile to Kayneth’s face. However, he noticed that his fiancée’s gaze on his Servant, Diarmuid, seemed odd—a reminder of the legend where Diarmuid had assassinated his lord for a particular reason, which saddened Kayneth.

“Doctor Roman, are we ready to proceed?”

He Who Knows Fate: Indeed, it is. Let’s find an appropriate candidate. If we can’t find anyone, we can meet in my world.

Workaholic Gil: If you’re interested in visiting the Age of Gods, you’re always welcome here. There are no large-scale Demonic Beast attacks right now, making this a great tourist spot.

[TL Note: The Age of Gods is the period stretching from the creation of Earth 4.5 billion years ago until the start of the Common Era around 1 AD. During this time, the world followed laws based on Mystery rather than physics. https://typemoon.fandom.com/wiki/World#Age_of_Gods.]

Kazuma the Brute: This... Can’t we pick a modern setting? I want to play games, eat ice cream, and drink soda.

King Wolffy: Doesn’t the association’s store sell all those things?

Kazuma the Brute: But such an alternate world doesn’t feel modern at all.

Faillen Angel Gabriel: Indeed, it’s all about capturing the right atmosphere at such times.

Self-Centered Elder Sister Shiki: Could you wait until Ryougi Shiki wakes up before you gather? I’m also quite interested.

He Who Knows Fate: Now that you mention it, my little sister hasn’t woken up yet.

Self-Centered Elder Sister Shiki: Stop calling her little sister!

He Who Knows Fate: But she is my younger sister. Is there an issue?

Self-Centered Elder Sister Shiki: Tsk! If I had known, I would have had the world automatic mechanisms make me your older sister.

He Who Knows Fate: Erm...your personality as a world consciousness seems rather strong.

Self-Centered Elder Sister Shiki: You can see this as adaptability; I’m slowly adjusting to the rhythm of this association.

He Who Knows Fate: Alright, alright, Skadi, get ready. Doctor Roman and I are about to start the summoning. I’ll start a livestream on the side as well.
