Change Karuna to Karna, I just realized I know someone with that name irl so…

9-27. Raihou (Thunder Cannon)

A gust of wind gouges the ground and destroys houses.

A thunderous roar echoes, followed by the sound of debris being blown far away.

The situation remains unchanged from before.

Theik, who deliberately missed attacks over and over again, had a little bit of hope for them.

The opportunity arose when he pretended to leave the room and listened in on a conversation between Reigan and Karna.

They had come here to save Reizen.

Theik was incredibly envious that he had such comrades.

He wants to be free as soon as possible.

Things that Theik had given up on were stirring up in his heart again.

But he didn’t think they would help him.

That’s only natural.

He had already succeeded in attacking them several times.

That was enough for them to see him as an enemy.

Furthermore, he couldn’t say anything.

If he let slip that he wanted their help, he would be punished immediately.

That wouldn’t be good.

He had to rescue his family who were being held hostage.

So he couldn’t be killed here, nor could he kill anyone.

How can he break free from his restraints?

There is only one strategy.

It’s a strategy that may not even work.

Create a commotion and draw out the priest.

If he can get rid of the priest, Theik, Reizen, and even Karna will be free.

But he can’t say that out loud.

(If that damn  bastaro doesn’t come out with such a shitty plan, it’ll all be over here.)

What Theik is doing now is just trying to give off the impression that he’s fighting with all his might against the people who came to help Prince Klaus.

If they notice, maybe their friends will take some action.

(Haaa… I don’t know why I can expect so much from those guys.)

Expecting something from the enemy.

He has never done that before.

But this is the only chance he can be free.

That’s why he turns his faint hope into the greatest expectation and cheers himself.

Please, notice.

And come out, you damn priest.

The precious hostage you captured through some kind of contract with the devil is now being targeted.

“Uryaaaaaaa!!”

“Ugh, guh, ouch! Can you run a little more gently, please?”

“In this situation!?”

How long had they been running at full speed?

Despite carrying Lize, Yurie hadn’t broken a sweat.

Impressed by her abilities as an S-ranked adventurer, a gust of wind came flying at them again.

This time it seemed to be a shot in the dark, so they quickly stopped, jumped backward, and barely escaped the attack range.

As a result, Lize was tossed around.

Her body couldn’t keep up with the sudden direction, and her back bones creaked.

“Eek!”

“My bad! How much longer do we have!?”

“The attack range widens and the power increases as I charge it…”

“Without limits!?”

“Appearantly…”

“Well, then we’ll just keep running away! I’ll give you instructions if things get too dangerous, so please inform me if it’s done!”

“Got it…!”

The thunder cannon in her hand began to tremble slightly, indicating that it was charged.

However, the power alone wouldn’t be enough to counteract that gust of wind.

There was also the possibility of needing two or three more shots.

Therefore, she wanted to charge it as much as possible.

Meanwhile, Roze bravely used magic to attack while running.

However, her accuracy was poor because she couldn’t stop, and her attacks hardly hit her target.

She was probably just able to distract the enemy.

“Roze! Are you sure you can use that much magic!?”

“It’s a costly spell, but I’ll be fine! But my stamina is reaching… its limit!”

“Well, I figured as much… got ya!”

“Wahhh!!”

Yurie grabbed Roze and put her on her shoulder.

Despite carrying both Roze and her battle axe, their speed remained unchanged.

(…is she a gorilla?)

“Huh? Lize, were you thinking of something rude just now?”

“What? No, not at all! I was just thinking how amazing you are! You really are an S-ranked adventurer!”

“Yurie has plenty of stamina. But thank you! I can aim for it now!”

“Sigh. I can’t show this side of myself to other adventurers, huh…”

“Hahaha! That’s for sure!”

Roze readied her staff and produced water.

The water took the shape of rifle bullets and was fired fiercely at the enemy, surprising him with its sudden shoot.

He scrambled to use his magic tool to defend against the attack, confirming his robe was indeed capable of blocking slashing and piercing attacks.

“Oops, sorry Roze! His robe is only vulnerable to blunt force!”

“Why didn’t you tell me that earlier!?”

“I already apologized!”

“Both of you, focus! My attack is probably ready now!!”

In Lize’s hand, the ball of lightning trembled violently, on the verge of exploding. She had never charged it this much, but the attack should be considerably powerful now.

“Oh! What should we do!?”

“Well, I’m not good at aiming, so I need your help…and I don’t know how much power it has, so please support me!”

“Alright, I’ll take the aim. Yurie, support Lize.”

“Got it! What about timing!?”

“Since he can’t use the same attack for a certain amount of time after using it, let’s stop for the moment after he shoots his skill again!”

“Understood!!”

The timing for the attack was decided.

If that was the case, the rest would be easy.

Yurie ran with all her might until the next attack came.

A few seconds later, the same attack passed behind them.

She stopped where she thought was the right spot and immediately lowered Lize and Roze.

Lize aimed lightly and kneeled.

Roze grabbed her arm and adjusted her aim.

Yurie stuck her battle axe deep into the ground, hooked one foot onto it, and supported Lize and Roze with both hands.

“Let’s do it! Lize!!”

“Okay!! Thunder Cannon!!”

Dooosh!!

Bzzzzzzzttttti!!

The thunder that was thrashing around in her hand was released at maximum power, as if it had found the ground for lightning.

Electricity ran rampant as the thunder cannon, which had become a huge pillar, flew straight towards the enemy.

The force was tremendous, and it seemed like Lize was about to be easily blown away. But Yurie and Roze supported her.

They seemed surprised by the power, but immediately braced themselves.

Lize thought she also needed to do her best, so she gritted her teeth and endured the pain in her shoulders and arms, whipping them to withstand the shock.

“What? Tornado”

She was surprised by the sudden counterattack and immediately used her skills. The skill was released at maximum output and clashed with the Thunder Canon, resulting in a deadlock between wind and lightning, pushing and pulling each other.

As long as the magic power lasted, the attack would not end, but Lize’s body seemed to be breaking down first.

! ”

“Lize, hang in there!!”

“Just a little more! You can do it!! Let’s win this!!”

“Guuuhhh!!”

Her whole body was already in pain from the first impact.

Although it was fortunate that her bones did not dislocate, for Lize, who had hardly experienced pain before, this was nothing but agony.

There was also a limit to extending her arms, and an unorganized anxiety attacked her, wondering how much more she needed to endure.

Theik is still far from being out of energy.

Since he casts magic through his staff, there’s hardly any shock.

In addition, his magic can be adjusted by a magic tool on his waist.

This magic tool allows for maximum attack with minimal magic input.

It would undoubtedly be militarized as soon as it was released to the public.

But it also had its drawbacks.

The device began to smoke and heat up.

Theik noticed it and quickly rolled up his robe to check.

“!! I can’t pour any magic right at this time!? No way!?”

In the midst of battle, a malfunctioning magic tool while trying to defend against attacks was the red flag.

If he kept using it, he would be in danger.

Feeling this way, Theik immediately stopped pouring magic into the magic tool.

But it’s happening at a bad time.

When he stopped pouring magic, the magic disappeared, as he expected.

But the lightning cannon was abnormally fast.

The lightning cannon passed by Theik’s body.

And his left arm disappeared.

“Guh!?”

The staff in his left hand, which he was using for levitation, disappeared, and Theik fell to the ground.

As he was at a considerable height, he immediately understood that he would die if he fell from here.

The sensation in his left arm disappeared.

Blocking pain was useful in times like this.

So, the impact that was about to come would be only a momentary shock.

“Haa. Things never go as planned, do they…”

His body became heavy.

When he looked around, he realized that his falling speed had slowed dramatically.

He knew this particular skill.

“…Geez. She’s gentle only at times like this.”

After saying this to himself, Theik’s body gently fell to the ground.
