v5c15 - Where Grudges Flow

–In Northfolia, around the time when Cyclo was safely concluding a slavery contract with Alice, a gruesome scene was unfolding in a certain part of the royal capital.

In a certain part of the royal city, a gruesome scene was spreading.

There, a man was being crucified, beaten repeatedly by the citizens, and covered in blood.

But no one would help the man. No one cared.

It was only natural. After all, the man – Bujin-Boujacque – is being crucified for various crimes, including serial rape.

Rather, Bujin had been thoroughly hurt at the hands of those who held grudges against him.

Nevertheless, Buzin has not yet lost his life, if only because Buzin is, in a manner of speaking, a police officer of the royal capital and has a better status than a citizen.

Nevertheless, as a result of assault upon assault, he had just been crucified early in the morning, and now that it was not even noon, he was already at death’s door.

In such a situation, Bujin thinks with a foggy consciousness.

(Why am I being put in this situation?)

Bujin had no remorse whatsoever.

It was his privilege as a nobleman to attack women. Citizens are the property of the nobility, and they are free to use them as they please.

Since he harbored such a distorted idea of chosen people, Bujin was not even happy that he himself was being punished.

(Damn you ……! Making me take the blame for your sins!)

Bujin also knew that he had been falsely accused and covering Raven’s crimes, and that he was being charged with an even heavier crime.

(Making me do something stupid, making me atone for his sins instead of the Hero atoning for it!)

Oddly enough, it was the same story as that of Cyclo, who had been falsely accused.

It is a causal story that a person who has caused another person to suffer for another person’s crime has to atone for that person’s crime.

However, Bujin could not accept such a causality. It was incomprehensible.

(If you’re going to put the blame on me, why don’t you put it on those commoners instead of me ……! Just like that kid at that time!)

At this point in time, Bujin did not feel bad about putting the blame on Cyclo, but rather believed that he had done the right thing.

That is why he was deeply angry and resentful of the government’s decision not to do the right thing and to put the blame on him.

(Damn you …… I’ll get my revenge ……!! I’ll destroy this rotten country ……!)

With a misguided desire for revenge burning in his heart–but the light of Bujin’s life was about to go out.

–But then a woman appears in front of Bujin.

Dressed in shabby clothes, she was beautiful despite her poor status.

The woman takes a stick prepared next to the crucifixion stand to strike Bujin, and approaches him.

“–Because of you!!”

The woman then swung the stick down at Bujin, carrying her resentment with her.

“You! Because you put the blame on him! My little Cyclo! He’s been accused as a criminal because of you!!”

Again and again. The woman–Sarina-Owen, Cyclo’s mother, swings a stick at Bujin and strikes him.

(–Cyclo? Who’s that guy ……?)

Bujin thinks back to the name the woman mentioned.

(Cyclo, Cyclo …… That’s right, Cyclo! That little bastard who interfered with me! He’s the reason I’m in this mess ……!!)

Bujin then realized that Cyclo was the boy who he framed.

“My little Cyclo! He didn’t do anything wrong! It’s your fault!!!”

Sarina hit Bujin repeatedly with tears in her eyes.

The stick is made of very hard wood, so it is more than powerful enough even for a powerless woman like Sarina.

As Bujin’s consciousness gradually fades — while he is on the verge of death — he mutters a bitter complaint in his chest.

(Damn you, you little shit! Cyclo!! Because of you, I was!!! I’ll kill you! I’ll kill you, I’ll kill you, I’ll kill you, I’ll kill you!!)

With a burning rage – eventually, Bujin lost his life.

But that was not the end.

Bujin’s soul, still harboring deep resentment and anger, ascended to the heavens.

Eventually, the souls would ride the currents of magical power and flow somewhere far away, towards the direction of an unknown dungeon.

What is the destination of the dead soul?

The answer to this question, which no one knows, is one of countless possibilities: Bujin’s soul rode the flow of magic power, and was sucked into the dungeon.

Bujin’s soul was sucked in deeper and deeper.

It was so deep that it was hard to believe it was just a dungeon, but it was one of the dungeon’s boss rooms.

Bujin’s soul is sucked in – and begins to receive the dungeon’s magic power.

It was not because Bujin wished to do so …… but rather because the dungeon wished to do so.

Bujin’s soul, which should have simply disappeared, was infused with magic power from the dungeon, regained his vitality, and through the same phenomenon that occurs when a monster spawns, he even regains his body.

Just as the flesh grows, Bujin’s soul takes on a body.

It was not unlike Bujin Boujacque’s physical body.

He was over two meters tall, and his muscles were abnormally developed, with his veins visible.

The majority of the skin that should have covered the entire body was sore – the majority of the muscles and fat were directly visible.

And above all – it was characterized by huge, long arms that seemed to almost touch the ground.

It was a perfect match for the “Tyrant,” a high-ranking type of fresh golem monster that is famous as a vicious monster.

The only difference between him and the Tyrant is that the Tyrant’s face retains the appearance of the Bujin before it was born.

“…… Ziggurou.”

(T/N: He said: “Cyclo”.)

Using vocal cords that are still only imperfectly formed, Bujin lets out his voice.

“Gorodji deyaru …… Jiggurou ……!!”

(T/N: He said: “I’ll kill you …… Cyclo ……!!”.)

That voice filled with resentment continues to echo in the boss’s room deep in the dungeon.

Eventually – even after its physical formation was complete – the monster Bujin, still harboring only a grudge against Cyclo, refined its obsession in the boss room, where no one ever visits, and grew ugly and vicious.

One day, the monster – out of a desire for revenge – begins to take in the magical power of its surroundings.

In this way, what was once Bujin is transformed into a vengeful monster.
