Han Cha-soo refused psychological counselling because he had nothing to say. What was he supposed to say in the first place?

He’s actually possessing a villain in the novel. He’s been trying so hard not to die, but nothing is working. Should he tell the doctor that he needs his to convince the main characters?

That was ridiculous.

He also asked for a change of room for a very good reason.

Only an exhibitionist would want someone to see their every move. It was natural for a normal person to be reluctant to expose their private life.

However, this was not the case for Jung Yiheon, who harbored an affectionate misunderstanding with Han Cha-soo.

So Jung Yiheon left the room with a bitter face and said,

“I’ll talk to the director of the bureau and ask him to change your room. It shouldn’t take long.”

He’s a soft guy.

Han Cha-soo stared at Jung Yiheon with a newfound interest. Compared to the other S-rankers, he was far too gentle.

He was the one who had accidentally saved his brother’s life. He could have just given him some money and gone their separate ways, but he was acting so desperate.

Looking at his sullen face, he felt my conscience, which he hadn’t even realized was there, being pricked a little.

But it couldn’t be helped. Besides that, there was nothing else he could do against Jung Yiheon.

‘I’m already suffering, so give me a break.’

It’s not like the original Han Cha-soo was harassing him with malice. Isn’t that an acceptable line?

As he continued to think, the medic returned.

“Hunter Han Cha-soo!”

“We’re back with the humidifier… wait.”

Like a young predator on the hunt, his eyes darted around the room with excitement.

“Team Leader, I think I’m seeing things.”

“No, Su-jin, you just need to get out there and call the director of the bureau.”

“I thought I made it clear that hunter Han Cha-soo needs stabilization, Heavenly Spirit Guild Leader!”

The medics rushed over and pulled Jung Yiheon away from him. Perhaps it was the euphoria of winning the hunt that made him feel so much more fearless than before.

“Are you okay, Hunter Han Cha-soo?”

Held down by three medics and placed on a bed, Han Cha-soo nodded steadily. If he shook his head, he would be hunted down.

It was hard to resist such a powerful doctor.

“You seem to be running a bit of a fever, which is why I said you shouldn’t push yourself.”

Someone clicked their tongue as they took his temperature, and immediately afterwards, he heard someone behind him blaming Jung Yiheon. He could feel Jung Yiheon looking at him in surprise.

“I’m sorry.”

Han Cha-soo shrugged. Jung Yiheon’s gaze dropped to the ground, and the medics snorted.

He feel sorry for him, but he shouldn’t have barged in, in the first place. He staggered toward the door. The medics followed. Apparently worried that he might run back in, they formed a single file line and completely surrounded him.

The Awakening Management Bureau sure does hire the strangest people.

“Han Chasoo-ssi.”

“?”

“Can we have one last hug?”

“Hunter Jung Yiheon!”

The medical staff didn’t overreact at all. Han Cha-soo shook his head in disbelief, then pulled the covers over his head.

He was afraid that if he continued to watch him like that, he would be traumatized and faint again.

With that, he walked away, and the situation seemed to be resolved.

“Hunter Han Cha-soo, did you have any medical emergencies while we were away?”

Until the medic spotted the recovery potion on the floor.

“Hunter Han Cha-soo.”

He had no idea.

Han Cha-soo shook his head, feigning nonchalance as best he could, but it was no use.

“…Agent Yu, contact the development office and have the healing device ready to go as soon as we’re done with the examination.”

Shit!

Han Cha-soo groaned silently. He remembered his nightmare at Yubaek Hospital.

They draw blood here, and then they tell him that he needs to go over there and draw it again. They took an X-ray and said it wasn’t good enough, you need a CT. No, they can’t properly test awakened people with that. Then what, I don’t know… blah, blah, blah.

‘I have to do all that useless stuff again.’

A dark cloud cast a shadow over Han Cha-soo’s face. If he could, he wanted to turn back time and pretend he was hugging Jung Yiheon and break his ribs.

“Don’t you rip people’s arms off, hunter Baek-dam.”

“…….”

“You’re not supposed to glare at me like that. Now, put your hands up and hand them over here.”

Behind the detention centre building, where a fire was being extinguished. Ki Tae-yeon found Baek-dam openly trying to torture the criminals.

To be more precise, he spotted masked hunters tied up in golden ropes, twisting and tearing off the arm of what appeared to be the leader.

“Don’t worry, I’ll just use it for a while and then give it back.”

Baek-dam smirked and pulled his hand back. A scream erupted from the man on the ground.

But the man’s screams didn’t reach the sky, and he fell to the ground. It was because of the circle around Baek-dam.

“You didn’t do anything anyway. You left it all to the healers and ran around making noise until it was sorted out, don’t you think it’s a bit funny that you’re now pretending to work hard?”

“Huh.”

Ki Tae-yeon made a face of exasperation.

It was because of the man in front of him that the staff of the Crisis Management Office had been mobilized to put out the fire instead of subduing the criminal.

“Was that a healer from some other country who cracked the whip to tell me to stay away?”

“I suppose.”

Smiling brightly, Baek-dam stomped his foot.

“Ow!”

The person lying on the ground behind Baek-dam went limp with a light snap.

“Oops, my foot slipped.”

Humming, Baek-dam kicked the stunned man in the stomach.

“Don’t worry, it’s just a rib or two.”

A few kicks later, the man’s bones clung together. As if that weren’t enough, he snapped out of his stunned state.

“H, heuaak!”

The shock of the blow was so great that the man who had broken his ribs did not wake up for some time afterwards. Rolling around screaming in pain, he finally passed out after hitting his head on the floor.

“They have a lower threshold than I thought. I thought they’d be able to handle it after they brazenly raided a detention centre….”

Maybe that’s why he shocks them to death before tearing off their limbs. A raspy voice swept down the alley on the wind.

“…….”

“…Hiccup.”

And the killers were on the verge of breaking down.

The only S-rank healer in the country, bio-torture. Ki Tae-yeon sighed as he watched them shake with their damp undercoats.

“Let’s move first.”

“I don’t want to.”

“Don’t you want to open their necks, not their limbs?”

“…Are you serious?”

At Baek-dam’s wavering gaze, Ki Tae-yeon flicked his hand. Bingo. With a smirk, he opened his mouth.

“That’s because the newly developed virtual reality training system in the development room is very good. They say that when the synchronization rate is cranked up to the max, it feels like real pain.”

Light flickered in and out of his light-brown eyes. A cruel glint that resembled expectation or desire. Ki-Tae-yeon saw it and continued without a care in the world.

“I’ll let you play with it to your heart’s content until you’re free, so let’s co-operate here, hunter Baek-dam.”

“…….”

Baek-dam was silent for a moment. He seemed conflicted.

‘I should push him.’

Ki Tae-yeon decided to touch on what he suspected was the source of his anger.

“Wouldn’t it be hard to torture and interrogate them all by yourself, Hunter Baed-dam?”

Baek-dam had been awakened at a young age, and he was no stranger to attacks and this time they hadn’t even touched his brother.

‘Baek-sun is being treated at the hospital.’

Everyone knew that Baek-dam cared for his brother unusually. That’s probably why he’s acting so differently.

“We need to know who’s behind this so the awakeners can make an official move. Please co-operate so that we can help you.”

“Ha…. Well, if that’s what Chief Ki has to say, I guess I have no choice.”

Eventually, Baek-dam backed down. Of course, being the cranky, dirty, S-rank person that he is, he didn’t just back down.

“But I have one condition.”

“What is it?”

“Am I the only one who can do this training thing?”

“Is there anyone else you’d like to do it with?”

“I’m not the only one who got attacked. I’d like to do it with my younger brothers.”

Ki Tae-yeon smiled wryly.

‘You say you love your brother, but you want to share in their torture.’

Well, it didn’t matter. As long as the criminals were turned over to the right people.

“Do as you please.”

And as Ki Tae-yeon takes over the criminals and heads to another detention centre, he realizes something.

He realized that Baek-dam had said ‘brothers’ instead of ‘brother’.

‘Did Baek-dam have other siblings besides Baek-sun?’

But it was too late to ask now. Baek-dam had left as soon as he heard the answer, saying he would find another gift for his brother.

Ki Tae-yeon shrugged it off and returned to the Bureau’s headquarters. He wanted to make a final report and check on Han Cha-soo.

But apparently, Han Cha-soo hadn’t been sitting still.

“Chief, what are you doing here?”

“Hah….”

Standing in the doorway of his newly renovated room, Ki Tae-yeon sighed deeply. In one swift motion, he crossed the room and kicked the bathroom door open.

With a bang, a cloud of steam poured out.

“H, hunter Han Cha-soo!”

Han Cha-soo was found slumped over in the bathtub, his face pale.
