What’s the best way to go about this…

“So, how are we going to take back your kingship?”

“There’s no taking back anything, I’m still the king. We just need to expose my brother.”

“I see, so we need evidence.”

“Exactly. It won’t be easy though, he’s quite the smart one, so he won’t show his back that easily.”

I wish I could just punch him and be done with it, it would be so much simpler…

“Don’t make such a difficult face. My subordinates and allies are doing their best right now, so there’s no need for you to go try to find evidence too.”

Oh, was my face that obvious? Oops.

“So I don’t need to do much?”

“That would be the case.”

Then where should I be? Maybe it won’t be so bad to go back to my jail cell and wait?

“Ryu, I’m hungry.”

Now that I think about it, it’s already noon. Ril likes her food delicious, and I don’t think I can expect any gourmet dishes in my cell, so that’s probably not the right place.

“King Dwar, if you don’t mind, I’d like to leave the country now.”

“No problem, it’s my job to clean up this mess.”

“Also, I have one request. Your brother stole my monster hide, so it would be great if you could get it back.”

“…So he’s stooped so low as to steal from people now…”

“Yeah, just because I said I won’t be selling it to him. I’m going to be making my clothes out of some of it, so I need it back.”

“Got it, I’ll get it back as long as it hasn’t been sold off yet.”

As long as it hasn’t been sold off yet…

Well, Dwar isn’t omnipotent afterall.

“With that, ojou, why don’t we go outside.”

“Yeah.”

“There’s actually a hidden passage, it’d be better to go through there.”

“Thanks Dwar, we’ll be on our way then.”

And with that, Ril and I left Fall Crown.

———

We were outside after passing through the passageway Dwar told us to use.

“Now, what should we go and eat?”

“I wanna eat chicken today.”

Ril, who had turned into her human form, stated what she wanted on her platter.

Is there any chicken around here?

I mean, we’re at a mountain here, are there even any living things around?

“Ril, are there signs of life on this mountain?”

“There’s surprisingly a good number, though I’m not sure if it’s all edible.”

“Then… should we go up and see what’s up higher?”

We start climbing up the mountain, looking around for anything that could be our lunch.
