Roar!

"Kill! Kill! Kill!"

"Slaughter them all!"

Invaderon's believers roared with reckless enthusiasm as they raised their weapons and cheered on. A good majority of them had modified bodies. They weren't entirely human. Their bone structure had been upgraded, with parts of different creatures systematically weaved into their frame.

A middle-aged man rushed at the forefront, his mouth fully open as he roared manically, with his spittle spraying everywhere. His eyes mechanically scanned through the deserted place, observing a fort installed farther away.

His eyes widened as he observed a glint from atop the fortress wall, quickly clenching his hand into a fist as a bone axe head protruded out. He grunted and slammed into the ground, cleaving the sand into two to form a small trench and leapt into it.

A couple of seconds later, whistling sounds echoed as the ear-splitting screams of people resounded throughout the place. The middle-aged man smelled the scent of iron, seeing blood leak into the trench in large volumes.

He lifted his head upward, staring at the bloodied face of a man staring at him, eyes wide, lacking his lower jaw. Something resembling a projectile seemed to have pierced through the region, creating such a large gap in his skull.

'Indeed, the enemy seems to possess a mysterious weapon.' Thinking as such, the middle-aged man grabbed the corpse of a fallen comrade and crushed it into bits before kneading it like a dough, praying to Invaderon as he gained power for a couple of seconds.

In that duration, he transformed the corpse's bone into a sturdy shield, grinning as he rushed forward with it.

Bam!

A projectile slammed into the bone shield, the impact sending him flying backward for a metre as the shield almost slipped out of his hand. He stared at it, observing a spear the size of his arm was the cause. The area of impact had dented alarmingly, sporting obvious cracks.

'So, a shield is at most good to defend against a couple of these spears.' Thinking as such, the middle-aged man began to use the evacuated buildings as cover to proceed forward. He was a bloodthirsty individual, living only for the day he could invade and rampage in another region again.

And these obstacles only excited him further. There were plenty of people like him in the army as they used the layout of the place to rush forth and avoid the barrage of spears as much as possible.

"Sir, they are within a five hundred metre range." A soldier atop the newly erected fort wall said.

"Wait." The person in charge of the fort was a Spirit who calmly observed the army that numbered more than a hundred thousand. He was nervous at the sea of people, not to mention the innumerous number of skeletons rushing from the sides.

As the army continued to approach them, he waited patiently, coldly calculating the distance. '500…400…300…200…100.'

He shouted, "Fire! Empty all our firepower!"

Immediately, the soldiers on the wall pushed aside the ballistae and pulled out heavy machine guns, aiming at the army as they pressed the trigger.

Rat-tat-ta!

Lines akin to laser spewed all across the region, tearing through everything like fragile pottery. Buildings, boulders, people, and skeletons alike, all were shredded in large numbers.

"Don't conserve the ammo! Our God said that we won't be able to use these weapons for more than a minute. Shoot them all!" The Spirit transmitted the message into the minds of everything through their faith—using Peddler as a channel.

Bullets rained down on the region, riddling the ground with densely mixed patches of craters, each the size of a fist. They were concentrated to the extent no gaps existed between the craters.

Buildings were shredded like paper, so were the people moving while using them as a cover.

"What…is this sorcery?" The middle-aged man stared in aghast, watching the shield he created anew get shredded in a matter of seconds, followed by his body, 'Ah…I wanted to see blood other than my own!'

The middle-aged man turned into a blotch within the rubble, accompanying his countless shredded comrades. Murky blood covered the ground, forming rivers at the slaughter.

"Keep up the fire…" The Spirit shouted when suddenly, his face paled. A moment later, his body split into two and collapsed. Hovering above him was Nefear, sporting wings resembling blades, thin like hair and more numerous than the strands one had on their body.

Her figure flickered as immediately, hundreds of people on the fort were cut off into pieces.

Clang! Clang! Clang!

She came to an abrupt stop upon hearing ear-piercing jingling sounds, looking around to see coins dropping from the sky. She looked up to stare at an aircraft blazing through the skies, dropping a sea of coins, 'What the heck is that?'

'Another product of the God of Humanity?' She was just about to fly towards it when her attention fell on the coins, noticing a tinge of Fear present in each, unnoticeable at first due to the fear circulating naturally in a battlefield.

'This fear…it belongs to that Devil!' Nefear took flight and evaded the coins, turning around to watch from high up as the coins rained down from the fort to the shore and continued towards the Inron until it was shot down by one of the Horned Elite.

Followed by a minor spark, all the coins transformed into a Devil's fear, resulting in countless chain of explosions, absolutely wrecking the place. Even the ones that had somehow survived the barrage of bullets were burnt into a crisp.

It didn't seem to end at that as suddenly, rain started to pour from the skies. Nefear felt something was amiss immediately as she could sense multiple streams of faith within the clouds, evading the raindrops as she observed from afar, smelling the air as she exclaimed, "This is…oil?"

"Oh no!" She muttered in disbelief and stared at the figure of Peddler atop his mountain, sporting a cold expression as the oil rain drenched the entire place, from the city closest to the shore to deeper into the ocean, fully covering Inron too, raining nonstop.

"Everyone, hide underground!" Nefear screamed, shuddering upon staring at Peddler's gleeful grin, cursing him instinctively, "You…freaking…Devil!"

"Thanks for stating the obvious." Peddler smiled as he snapped his finger, causing a coin on his hand to vanish as in the next moment, lightning struck from the sky, igniting the sea of oil, raising hell on earth.
