「Anyway, it’s the type that’ll make your work easy, dismantling will be a breeze — woop! Like that.. 」

「Woop, huh. 」

Retze is staring at me dubiously, but if I mind it I’ll lose.

「Yup. It’s just that I’m not sure why, but it’s only effective during dismantling and it should be right after slaying. Otherwise it’s just a dull blade. 」

「And why is it that you, the maker, don’t know why? 」

Retze quipped exasperatedly.

Well, this is just my guess, but the spirits prolly read my absentminded thoughts, and went all out with ‘let’s grant that!’ and ‘do away with the unnecessary features!’, cooperated with that, and this is the result. No plans disclosing this, though.

Well, when I was making the weapons for the kids, I’d been thinking stuff like ‘kids grow up quickly, so will they outgrow this size?’, and the reason why there’s a lot of paralysis features is because I’ve been thinking of ‘making them immovable’ rather than ‘kill’, probably.

Dinosso and Dean’s fire and Chris’s light was easy to imagine, so they’re as is.

Chris’ light rapier shines when you put mana in it, so it must be convenient when going to the tunnels — ah, that’s not what I meant — it’ll make the enemies recoil and temporarily blind them. By the way, it’s going to blind the allies too, but it can’t be helped since it’s a luminous object.

By the way, Dinosso’s downing that beer while standing, so won’t the next course be a helping of Shiva’s scolding?

「I’m gonna drink too. Do you have any strong ones here? 」

「I understand how you feel, but it is better not to over do it…. 」

There’s something I believe in about alcohol and people. I don’t think it’s the alcohol to blame if somebody acted appallingly — unless it’s their first time drinking; for me, it’s their true nature showing. That’s why if I don’t like hanging with somebody when they’re drunk, then I definitely don’t want to be associated with them when they’re sober.

Well, I guess it’s probably just me thinking this since I have never been drunk before. Dinosso, Dean and Chris are fun when drunk, so I let them drink.

「How about this? 」

Tequila and vodka are the first ones I think of when speaking of hard liquor, but they’re not in my pantry unfortunately. Whiskey is probably the strongest one I have in my alcohol collection.

I chose a glass from the shelf. According to 【Appraisal】-san, the thinner the rim of the glass, the better the mouthfeel. Not only that, even the body of the glass, the size of the opening, the angle and speed of drinking all affect the taste so one choose the type of glass carefully— says 【Appraisal】-san while I peered at the whiskey.

Oh well, just a random one will do, I guess. I did choose the ones with thin rims and poured whiskey into them.

Retze becomes a bit slovenly when drunk, but he’s easy compared to drunk Dean’s team.

「Here you go. 」

What a pretty amber color.

「Oh, what a fragile looking glass. 」

I also handed a glass of whiskey to Butler since he seemed interested. I never saw Butler be drunk.

「The wines in Jean-sama’s place have an exquisite appearance, and they’re splendid. 」

「Yeah. 」

The two of them accepted the glass with a smile.

「Bfftt!! 」

「… 」

They looked like they’re gonna throw up for a moment there, but they quickly gulped it down.

「Is this Fire Wine!? 」

「This is such a harsh wine. 」

Butler seemed fine, but Retze was having a coughing fit.

Fire wine is the northerners’ favorite drink, and it’s beer but way stronger than the ordinary ones. The alcohol strength is regulated in Japan, so they don’t make beers with this percentage. They do have beers with high alcohol content overseas, though. Those with more than 60%, if I’m not wrong?

The reason why I have whiskey is because I want to try Irish coffee, so I’m in the dark on how to drink this.

But then, now that I think about it, people usually use one or two shot glasses when they’re drinking it straight — I got the feeling that they only use a teeny tiny amount. And here I am, filling the glass to the brim! HAHAHA!

I rolled Retze into Daifuku’s room last night, and I peered inside to check on him, Daifuku was also there. He was cuddling close to Retze — Daifuku’s butt, that is, and to Retze’s face, no less. Not sure if I’m envious of them cuddling, but I’m a bit troubled.

I opened the shutters to drive away the stagnant alcohol stench inside the room. I can sense Retze’s sword happily basking in the sun — I placed it beside the window last night. Daifuku proudly swished his tail. Just when I was about to pet him, Retze woke up.

「Morning. 」

「Morning, sorry. Uhh, hurts… 」

Daifuku boredly glanced at Retze who just woke up, before using me as a stepping stone and leaping to the shelf. He immediately stuffed himself inside the box.

Hmm, so he prefers boxes even when there’s a basket around, huh. Oh, but won’t he use it when it becomes warmer?

「…Is something there? Is it the cat thing? 」

「Yeah. 」

Retze’s amazing. Yeah, there’s a bit of clues, but still, he managed to deduce that there’s a spirit despite barely waking up.

Ah, no, maybe I’m just really easy to read? Butler and Ash — yeah, Butler smiles with squinted eyes, while Ash scrutinizes with a scary face. Oh, maybe they’re doing that to prevent others from noticing the movement of their gaze, that’s it!

「You’re thinking of weird stuff again, aren’t you? Open your eyes, open it, I say. 」

He took a jab on me when I tried squinting.

Ack, even though you’re just a drunken wasted adult!

「Wait, wait a sec. Argh, this is awful. 」

Retze said while staring at the sword that I placed beside the window.

「Why the heck is it sticking out a pot, huh!? 」

「Eh, no, it’s a vine, right? I already watered it too? 」

「…. 」

Retze clutched his head before falling back to bed, probably shocked by his own yelling.

「Head hurts. 」

「Hangover. 」

「…Absolutely not because of that. 」
