Chapter 277: Truth Untold

Igor realized that he was once again too late. His heart felt completely empty immediately. Jumping off the horse that was collapsing due to exhaustion, Igor slowly walked to the sea with listless walking. With despairing expression as he stood on the wharf, no sound of sigh or cry came out from him.

As he stood there for a long time, he suddenly noticed that hot tears were streaming down his cheek. The cries that he held back even when he had lost her 6 years ago here, and even when she nearly drank a poison due to the crown prince’s scheming, all that tears that he held back all came out all at once.

Sob…

Deep despair came out along with his sobs. 6 years ago he could hold back his tears because he had hope for the future. Instead of feeling despair, he turned his back from this sea as he had hope that he would see her once again in the future.

However this time, nothing was left for him anymore. More than anything, he regretted the most that he didn’t even say that he loved her even once this whole time. Just as Madam Sessly said, he wouldn’t have this much regret if he had properly confessed his feelings to her before she had left him.

Why didn’t he tell her to the end? Just how lovely and beautiful she is. How precious she is to him. If he had told her that, then she may have…

The whole world became stained with colors of blood. Without thinking of wiping away the tears running down his cheeks, he was standing there crying out loud in the red sunset surrounding him, when he suddenly heard a sound of sand crunching behind him.

“Igor.”

His body froze up instantaneously. With extreme tension, he slowly turned around. He saw a blurry appearance of a woman that was standing behind him.

“…”

The woman with white face had a black robe completely wrapped around her, which was different than what she wore while leaving the palace grounds. A few strands of silver hair blew in the wind, which was peeking out from her hooded face. He saw the woman’s face, with a surprised expression on her face. Silver eyelashes batted multiple times as she quietly stared at him.

Igor thought that he is definitely looking at a hallucination. Or perhaps he was dreaming right now. That this was a dream and this hallucination was playing a terrible trick on him. It couldn’t have been otherwise, as she could not be standing here when the boat had already left.

“Igor?”

After hearing her voice yet again, Igor felt his consciousness returning to him bit at a time. A tear that was hanging on his chin fell onto the ground. As he couldn’t believe it even as he looked with his own two eyes, all Igor could do was stare at her with stupified expression.

“Are you… Crying right now?”

Rihannan came up to him. She stretched out her hand, where she wiped away the tears falling down his cheeks. Feeling her ice-cold fingers coming into contact with his skin, he involuntarily shivered. Igor snatched and held her hand straight away.

“How could this be?!”

Just how could she be here without a single bodyguard with her?

Having those thoughts, emotions of anger, as well as worry, suddenly swelled in his heart.

“What happened?! Why didn’t you get on the boat? Why are you standing here alone like this, when it’s dangerous?!”

“Well… After getting on the boat, I got off it. Well, to be precise, the boat departed the wharf, but I made the boat go back to the wharf. I told them that I’ll be fine, and they should just leave again to send the rest of the passengers who were going to Chrichton. I had to tell this truth to my older brother as well as my uncle after all.”
