“But besides that, there was another report that came in.”

“What is it?”

“It’s about Duke Lurik. We presumed he will try to not be involved with this situation since he had disowned his son, but he had shown a different reaction instead. He said that his son had only followed the crown prince’s orders and was fiercely against the Chrichton royal family for it.”

“You’re saying the Duke is revolting against the crown prince? I’m sure that such a thing would be difficult to happen since they had such long and close relationship between the Duke’s family and the royal family. It’s not like the Duke had particularly loved his son as well.”

Duke Lurik was famous for having cold blood. He was ruthless to anyone below him, and didn’t matter whether they were blood related or not. This personality of his was what carried him to borrow the crown prince’s power to committ illegal deeds for massive profit this whole time.

“It seems that Prince Ivan had appeased to him. If he can just bring Duke Lurik to turn his back against the crown prince, they would be able to properly bring him down this time.”

“… I see.”

Rihannan remembered the letter from Dimitris that came not long ago. After hearing about the incident that happened to Rihannan, he hurriedly sent a letter to her. The letter was filled with him blaming himself for what happened to Rihannan. He apologized for not being able to come over there immediately, and that he will never forgive the crown prince for what he had done.

“Looks like the crown prince won’t be able to just stand around anymore either. His greatest ally, Duke Lurik had turned his back on him after all. Seems that he will be properly dethroned this time.”

Before Rihannan left Chrichton for Arundel, it seemed to her that there was no one that could ever stop the crown prince. He had the most power over everyone, and would never falter even once until he dies from poison like what happened in her last life.

Instead of replying to Rihannan, Igor swirled the tea cup in his hand. While waiting for his reply, Rihannan noticed a doc*ment laid on the table.

“Actually, what is this?”

It was a doc*ment that he brought along with him when he came in. She had just noticed it now after talking this whole time about the crown prince of Chrichton.

“Open it and see.”

Rihannan opened the letter and pulled out the paper inside. As soon as she checked the content, her eyes widened and turned to Igor with a surprised expression.

“This is…”

It was the marriage contract that they made on the boat before the marriage. Rihannan and Igor’s signatures were clearly written on the bottom of the doc*ment.

“Why are you giving this to me…”

“I wish to give you an opportunity.”

“Opportunity?”

With her surprised expression still on her face, Igor spoke with a bitter smile.

“An opportunity to end this marriage.”

Rihannan’s mouth slowly opened agape.

“When you mean an opportunity to end this marriage…”

“This was not a marriage that you wanted in the first place after all. You were only forced to marry me because the crown prince threatened to take your brother’s life.”

“But why are you giving me this opportunity? This marriage will end automatically after a year anyways.”

This was a contractual marriage where the duration had already been set in stone. Rihannan couldn’t understand why he’s giving her this opportunity now.

“If you wish to end the marriage, then you do not need to wait for the end of the duration to do so. I will make sure that you will be able leave this nation tomorrow right away if you want.”
