Chapter 241: Tell the Truth

“Igor!”

The voice that he thought was his mother’s started to ring more clearly. Starting to accustom to the light a bit more, he started to see the things around him. He saw the familiar ceiling. He also saw his mother crying from happiness as well as the joyous doctor. His mother cried out heavily.

“Igor, are you coming to your senses? Do you recognise who I am?”

“Mother…”

Hearing his words that sounded like creaking of an old crank filled her face with joy. She immediately snapped at the doctor.

“I don’t think he has any problem at all in his head. Have a better look at him if that’s what you think!”

The doctor flipped his eyelid as well as looked around his whole body while asking several questions. Igor made sure to properly answer all the questions calmly even though his head was spinning.

In the end, the doctor gave a certain final report.

“Queen mother, there is no need to worry. It seems that His Majesty has no serious problem!”

The queen mother nearly yelped out her relief. “Ahh, thank goodness. Thank goodness!”

It was at this point he finally felt his dizziness subside a bit at a time. Igor soon then realized the truth that the thing that was most important to him wasn’t here in the room.

“…What about my wife?”

The two that were joyous upto this point immediately kept both their mouths shut tight. He started to remember what had happened right before he fainted a bit at a time. After remembering the moment that he had fallen down the stairs together with his wife, Igor hurriedly lifted up his body.

“Igor! You have to keep lying down. You shouldn’t move like…”

Igor harshly pushed away his mother’s hands that were trying to make him lie down again. After sitting upright on the bed with his back leaning onto the wall, Igor realized that his head was wrapped up with bandages. Not only that, but several places of his body were wrapped in bandages as well.

“Thankfully you didn’t have any broken bones, but the wound on your head was way too deep. We thought you wouldn’t wake up again.”

“I had asked where Rihannan is. No, is she even okay? Did she perhaps get wounded even more severely than m…”

Igor thought that she must have not come here because she had serious injuries. Seeing them all avoiding giving him an answer, Igor imagined the worst possible situation. Did she perhaps die from her falling down the stairs…

“Mother, did… Rihannan…”

Slam!

At that moment, a loud bang was heard and the door was opened. Hurried voices was also heard.

“Move aside! If you block me, I will cut you all down!”

The man who caused a commotion as he came in through the door was Basil. He was threatening the guards that was stopping him from advancing while brandishing their swords. Igor realized that this situation was very strange. Basil was practically his limbs. The grand chamberlain Basil should have been with him the moment he woke up. Not blocked from getting in like that.

“Basil, what’s all this…”

“Igor!” Basil started to cry as he saw Igor. Throwing his sword onto the floor, he immediately went to Igor’s side.

“So you’re really awake. The queen actually…”

“Basil!”

The owner of that voice was the queen mother. She was yelling at Basil with wrath in her face.

“What are you trying to report to the person who had just regained his senses? Don’t say such useless things and get out of here immediately!”

“Your Queen Majesty! You cannot do this. I must tell His Majesty the whole truth right away!”

“You dare go against my order? I’ve been way too lenient on you this whole time and now you’re talking back at me. Take him away immediately!”
