Chapter 210: Wish To Live

An enormous amount of rage ran through her. This is definitely that b*tch’s work. She acted calm as if she didn’t know anything at all, yet she was scheming all this in the background!

“With what evidence!? You’re taking someone in without any evidence, you think Count Clobis will just stand idly as this happens? Why are you all standing by and just staring like idiots? Go and tell Count Clobis of this happening!”

Hearing Leticia’s hostile screams towards the maids, one of the soldiers let out a smirking laughter.

“Did you say evidence? The person who had testified all the crimes you’ve done so far was Count Clobis himself.”

“… What?”

Shocked and confused, Leticia stared at the soldier as he continued speaking.

“Not only that, but the truth that you borrowed someone else’s name to hide in the hunting ground was revealed as well. It will be hard to escape from this suspicion, so it would be better to just give it up. Take her away!”

Leticia was dragged towards the outside of the mansion while still barefeeted. The Soldiers pushed Leticia into the carriage that was prepared for her. The door closed right away, and a sound of lock closing on the door was heard. Leticia slammed on the door over and over as if she was going insane, but the black carriage that’s used for transporting criminals was much more hardy than she thought.

As the carriage started to move, Leticia curled up inside the dark carriage that had no window. She thought of ways to escape while biting on her nails, but there didn’t seem any way for her to escape.

‘This is unbelieveable.’

Leticia let out a hollowed laughter. She’s done so many things so far to get here. She had used and sold everything that she had gained in order to reach even higher than before. That’s how she got here. She had gained the title of a noble by becoming a Viscount’s wife, and the chance to get to the king by the help of Count Clobis was right in her sight. If she had progressed just a little further she could have had the nation’s highest position in her hands, yet everything collapsed for her suddenly. She didn’t even do anything properly yet, and now she’s going to die like this!

“Open! Open this door!”

Leticia pulled the door handle and rapidly knocked on it. She could never forgive Count Clobis. She had served him loyally for so long, so how could he betray her like this? If she was going to die, she wanted to kill him as well before she went, she was never willing to die alone.

As Leticia started to scream out with even more desperate voice, the carriage suddenly stopped. At the same time, she heard sounds of metal clanging together along with screams and yelling from other people.

Leticia crawled to the corner of the carriage furthest from the door of the carriage and compacted her body as much as she could while shivering in fear. The sounds she heard in the complete darkness made the emotion of fear she was feeling doubly powerful. Perhaps Count Clobis had sent someone to get rid of her since he didn’t wish for her to leak any more secrets.

At that moment, with a sound of lock being broken, the carriage door opened. Leticia covered her head as she feared for her life.

“Madam Olbach.”

The baritone voice that spread throughout the darkness felt strange yet familiar to her. It definitely was the voice of the man she had heard before. Leticia slowly lifted her head. Outside of the completely opened door were corpses laying around. And in the middle of darkness, a tall male figure stretched out his hand towards her.

“If you wish to live, follow me.”
