Chapter 307 - Sorted out

Getting inside her room, her knees lost their strength and she fell to the floor.

She thought she hated him. She thought she had gotten over him, but at the mere thought of him getting hurt, she gave up a job that means so much to her.

She opened up about something she had told herself to feign ignorance to.

She would now embark on another job hunt, which she had dreaded, but all because of him, she gave it all up in a heartbeat.

If anyone had told her she would lose her job in months, she would fight them for such a bad insinuation, but it happened.

She wasn't even feeling bad for it. Her mind kept drifting back to something that has passed.

She pushed him and Gail scared him with his car.

What if something had gone wrong?

She knew he was unscathed, but every fibre in her body wanted to see him and check him all over.

She realized how much she had missed him.

He cheated on her.

Perhaps if he begged her sincerely?

She held her head at her pathetic thought.

No! I shouldn't be like this.

I shouldn't be acting like I couldn't survive without him. She mentally scolded herself and crawled like a toddler towards the chair, wiggling his ankle to shake off her shoes and dragging her handbag along.

She collapsed on the chair like she was heavily exhausted. Her eyes glued to the ceiling and she wondered if things would ever smoothened between her and Michael again.

Should she just give up on him?

But how?

She felt empty without him. She had known and loved him almost half of her life.

She remained still as her emotions jumbled up.

Her phone rang and her heart skipped.

She felt angry and sad, because despite feeling so emotional, she couldn't get what he did off her mind.

But to her disappointment, it wasn't Michael who called.

Why did I feel disappointed, even though I wouldn't pick it anyway?

The caller was Gail.

Didn't he just leave?

She wanted to ignore, but still picked it anyway.

"Hello." She spoke into the speaker, composing herself well, to sound as passive as possible.

"I just want to tell you that, if you ever need help in getting a new job, do let me know. I have friends and acquaintances that I could link you to, with guaranteed that you're fit for the job." Gail offered.

"Thank you, Gail. I will use the help if I'm out of options." She said with a light heart for his consideration.

"And hum, mine is also available to return to, before I employ another. I can give you the space you want to be assured. I mean it. I want you, but not by force. I wouldn't wait this long to tell you if I didn't hope you will give your heart to me slowly." He said and before she could say her big NO, he ended the call.

He at least wants to imagine a sweet reply than the expected bluntness.

He didn't want his heart to bleed again.

Without thinking too far over his request, she dropped the phone and picked it up again.

She opened the gallery with a trembling hand. It has been a while since she went there.

She wanted to get rid of him from her heart, but couldn't part with these beautiful memories that are captured.

She scrolled through their pictures and didn't know when a smile blossomed on her lips.

Every one of it was showing his overflowing emotions towards her.

There are short videos where he was doing most of the talking. He looked obsessed with her.

He was claiming she's his woman in all of it. It was like a slogan to him.

In all of them, it looked like he loved her more. It looked like he was the one who wanted the world to know he's taken and she's owned.Find authorized novels in , faster updates, better experience, Please click #'s-heart_15099745906890005/sorted-out_50889051372306858 for visiting.

Tears dropped from her eyes, but her lips refused to be rid of smiles as she continued to scroll on.

*******

Just like that, a week passed and they both didn't hear from each other.

Michael had met with Gail during this span and beat the hell out of him.

Gail tried to fight back, but Micheal was surprisingly strong. His strength doubled by the minute and he was shamelessly overpowered by him.

He taunted him though, telling him he will still lose her to another person if he did not stop making her vulnerable to interested eyes.

Michael only let him go at that point.

The way Gail put it was as though he had given up. It sounds like they aren't rivals anymore and come to think of it, the evilness in his eyes when he threatened him with his car wasn't there.

Even when they fought, he was calm and there's this look of defeat in his tone when he gave that unintentional advice.

Gail arrested him the next day, not willing to overlook the fact that he lost the woman, whom she could have gotten by force if he wished to, and would get beaten as a side dish.

Michael wasn't expecting it, but the guy only let them lock him up for 2 days and Michael was powerless, because according to law, what he did was assaulting Gail.

He should have served more trial for that, but was out on bail after two days and an additional fee that covers Gail's treatment.

It felt like a goodbye incident for them to never show up in each other's life anymore.

Michael also finds out from Gail that he just did that to make him pay for making a woman he loves this much, sad.

And reveal that she loved him as well and if he gets her back, he should make her happy.

He also mentioned how she no longer has any ties with him, since she quit her job.

Gail did this last favour for Belle, because he could imagine how she would be feeling at home since she quit her job.

He still couldn't forget her. He felt concern for her.

Michael didn't reply to any of his words, but took the obvious fact.

She's free from pests.

Now it's time to claim his woman back and make it so that no one will steal her from him. To wash away all doubts from her heart.

To have her in his arms again.

To make love to her like he has never done before.

God knows how much his c.o.c.k missed her warm inside... christ!
