Chapter 303 - Throw him out

Michael was confused.

He looked around and noticed the weird gaze from the neighbors, because they were all stunned to finally see him show up and were curious to see how things will turn.

Michael looking back caught them off guard and they couldn't rush to look away and just hypocritically look left and right before shutting their door.

Michael was so confused by their reaction, but it only made him scared that perhaps something had happened to Belle.

He began knocking again, but soon left out of no choice.

He couldn't sleep all night and just kept calling her number and noticed that she switched it off after his calling got too much.

But after a while, she switched it on again, thinking he would have thought she wouldn't turn it on, but Micheal kept trying it anyway and caught her scheme.

"Did I do something wrong?" This question bugged his mind all through.

He would have left for her place the next day, but he has a client to meet up with, but was determined to return from the meeting and visit her working place.

He couldn't take this. He must see her.

Somehow, fear envelops his heart. He felt so scared to lose her.

Scared that he has hurt her unknowingly.

Belle hasn't cried in a while, but that night, she cried again and felt that she shouldn't keep this to herself.

She wants to at least confide in someone, but who?

She thought she had started to forget him, but his coming to her place that day made her realize how much her heart was still enslaved to that cheater.

She wept bitterly and just wished things could go back to how they used to be.

She would have called Leo and told him, but the man might make her realize this is why he was not in acceptance of her decision to stay away from them.

He might convince her to return and she didn't want to. Not because she didn't wish to see them, but because she believed she's old enough to handle her life no matter which direction it turns.

She believes she will pull through this.

....

"You seem extremely distracted today, Anna." Gail said, startling Belle.

"I'm fine." She replied, but Gail stood up from his chair and walked up to her desk.

He was handsomely clad in a brown suit with his hair gelled all the way back.

His tall figure tower above her as he rested his hands on her table and leaned towards her.

"Something you're not telling me?" He asked.

"Nothing, Gail." She replied casually.

Yes!

That's how much they are now close to each other. They call each other by their names so freely now.

"Hum, I know how to cheer you up. How about we stopped by that flower house today and you could feed your eyes of beauties and perhaps they have the one you told them to help you get the last time?" Gail made a funny face and Belle chuckled softly.

The flower house was her favorite spot with Michael, because he got her flowers from the shop.

She had no idea she was followed by Gail a few days ago and took it as a coincidence, because she was just there to reminisce about her relationship when he came.

He noticed her interest for the flowers and took her there once more, because the flowers she wanted weren't available that day.

"I don't need it anymore." She said and Gail raised his brows at her.

"You're not serious, are you?" He teased her.

"I'm serious." She said.

Her phone rang at that moment and on checking it, she realized that it was Micheal who called.

Her eyes darted left and right, her body unsettled.

Gail frowned, seeing how Michael still affects her.

A message came in after the call was dropped and Belle panicked.

Michael said he's almost at her working place.

Her hands began to shake and tears built up in her eyes.

She wondered why he's so persistent when he could just go ahead to those girls he's seeing now.

She suddenly froze as two large hands held her own.

She looked up into Gail's eyes and he squeezed her hands lightly.

"Calm down, Annabelle. I saw the text. I will inform security not to let him in, so rest assured." He said and Belle just looked away, while he went to give the order.

He gritted his teeth as he informed that Michael must not step into the main building and should be thrown out of the premises.

Belle remained silent, blinking continuously, her heart racing so fast like it would jump from her chest.

"Are you okay?" She heard Gail asked and nodded her head.

"I'm here for you and always would be. You can lean on me for support." He has already walked towards her again before saying this and Belle gave him a serious look.

"No, you don't have to…." She was about to tell him not to bother himself with it when his hand rested at the side of her neck.

She got alert immediately, her gaze turning sharp.

"I want to. I will do anything to help you, so don't feel so scared." He said and before she could protest, his hands went around her and head rested on her shoulder as he hugged her.

Belle was shocked by his sudden action and quickly pushed him away.

They spoke up at the same time.

"I'm sorry"

"I'm sorry."

They looked into each other's eyes. "You first." Gail said.

"I hum… don't appreciate being that intimate with another man." Belle said and he nodded in understanding.

"Noted. I did that because I thought you needed it." He said and she quickly shook her head.

"I don't." She replied so fast that Gail felt his heart hurt.

"I understand." He replied with a tight smile and Belle stood up.

"I will like some fresh hair, sir. I will just step into the balcony." She said and began walking away, but he called her name.

"Belle?"

"Yes?"

"Hum… I'm sorry. I didn't mean it that way. I hope you don't get me wrong." He said, not wanting her to distance herself from him, when he's so near his goal.

"It's fine. No hard feeling." She said.

"You already started calling me 'Sir'." He pointed out.

"Gail." Belle said and both smiled stiffly before she turned around and left.
