Chapter 249 - Trauma

"What really happened? Is she safe? Who was that bastard?" Tim asked.

"It was an idiot who had tried to chase after her once. I warned him off and he tried to play smart this time." Leo gritted his teeth.

"It's good that you found her on time. He should be dealt with according to his crime. If you're feeling generous, have my boys send him to me and just look after your woman." Time offered.

He also realized that he called Clara his woman without feeling like he used to.

It rolled out freely.

"Thanks for the offer buddy, but he's dead. After I went to pick Clara from the bed, he …"

"You killed him? How nicer can you be?" Tim was stunned as Leo filled him in on the detail, while Clara received treatment in her ward.

They asked him to stay outside.

The spot where Callum hit to knock her out is being tended to, as it was deep red and a bit swollen from his hit.

All the tests carried out earlier came out with a nice result, which proves that Callum didn't force himself on her.

A relief.

Leo had not planned to kill him in the first place, because a part of him still had this heart of thinking twice before killing a human, as there are some people who rely on them to survive.

They have loved ones too, and no matter how bad a child is, the parent will never wish them dead.

A part of him wanted to kill him because of Clara. She will be traumatised by the event surely, and the thought of the person still alive will give her insecurity, especially now that she is not with any supernatural abilities anymore.

But, since Callum still had the guts to try and harm him despite everything he had done, then he saw no reason to spare him, and he just gave him a reason to not consider his first belief.

But dying was easy for him, because if he hadn't killed him, he planned to make his life a living hell.

Even if he keeps living, he wouldn't be any different from being dead, because he had done what he shouldn't.

His punishment would have been more than the one Jerry received. He would regret his actions.

But still, he wanted to tease Tim.

"Not everyone is as cold blooded as you Tim. I will have nightmares if I follow your steps at dealing with offenders." Leo said.

"Nightmare! Your joke is not funny, bro. Define, nightmare?

To me, that's imagining that bastard touching even a hair on her head."

Leo felt scared again. That was the exact feeling he got but tried to deal in, because if he didn't act nonchalant to it in front of Clara, she might start feeling like he saw them in a position that he was keeping it a secret from her, but it was indeed a nightmare to imagine what could have happened.

"So bro, there is nothing like a nightmare. You give them one, instead. How is she now?" Tim asked.

"She's a lot better. They are helping her relieve the spot where she got hit to get knocked out, but she hasn't woken up. How is her friend?" Leo asked.

Tim sighed at the other end of the phone at the mention of Sonya's name.

I hope she will be fine. As for her friend, damn Leo. She is so stubborn.

It's not easy trying to make her stay. And I mean it that she's ridiculously stubborn, because I've never met anyone like her in my life.

She claimed that she called Clara and she didn't pick up. She said she knew her friend and she isn't the type to just leave her here unless something happened.

She wanted assurance before she took the medicine and food they brought for her.

She refused to move from one position unless I let her leave the hospital, but I refused.

She said she's suspecting me and asked me to make Clara come if I wanted her to stay. Not even the threat that she might hurt our baby worked.

It is not easy one bit. I felt so drained just from a conversation. She hadn't eaten till now, I'm still on it." Tim said, letting out a long sigh.

It just proved how deep their relationship was.

"Good for you. I will talk to you later, bro. The doctor is coming out." Leo said and hung up the phone.

He stood up and walked towards him

"How is she now?" Leo asked.

The doctor is a man in his late 30, with well shaved blonde hair, with a glass testing on the bridge of his nose.

He gave him a polite smile. "Rest assured, sir. She is perfectly fine and just needed to wake up and you can talk to her." The doctor replied and Leo said his appreciation before the man left.

He walked inside the ward and sat beside Clara's bed. He reached out to hold her hand and rub his thumb on it, before reaching it up to his lips and kissed it.

Her skin was starting to regain its color but she still creased her brow once in a while, seeming to be afraid of something.

"That bastard." Leo muttered under his breath.

Few hours later, it was already late at night when she opened her eyes and the first thing she did was grabbing onto Leo's hand that was holding her own.

She twisted it with all her might, not willing to be overpowered and knocked out this time.

Leo was shocked by the sudden attack and was about to speak when a punch landed on his face.

Kpow!

That actually hurts!

He quickly held her hand, as she was about to throw another one at him and pulled her toward him, hugging her tightly, while Clara struggled in his embrace, feeling like she failed again and she will be knocked out soon.

"Let me go! I'm going to kill you! I will kill you!" She growled, thrashing her legs.
