Chapter 198 - Reminiscing Sonya

It has been a few minutes since Leo left.

Clara could be seen laying flat on her green leather couch when her phone beeped.

She tilted her head sideways and reached out to pick it up.

'You were so naughty earlier you know that?' Clara viewed Leo's message.

Her expression sank and she bit down on her lower lip, before getting into a sitting position and typed.

'I admit I was.' That was her reply.

Leo had known that something was off with her and he was right. Her reply just proves that. 'Why? It is so unlike you.' replied Leo.

Clara smiled at his reply. It was a bitter smile and also laced with sweetness. He knew something was odd about her?

Wow!

This man just kept making her crazy about him.

'How can you be so sure about that?' She replied, because how could he trust her that she wasn't the type when they haven't known each other since their whole life.

'I recalled that you called me a pervert for suggesting you take a bath in my ward then. So, you becoming the perverted person today was pretty suspicious.' Leo replied with an emoji of a person with his head upside down.

'Haha. You are right. I was so happy about the shares you bought for me and felt like I needed to show it to someone very dear to me

We've been through so much together and this luxury that you're spoiling me with, it doesn't feel right without her sharing it with me.

We've both struggled to look for work together. The image of her frustration when I failed over and over again is edged in my memory. She deserves to be here.

I miss her.

I want to do the shopping with her.' replied Clara with an emoji of a sad person.

'I'm sorry to hear that, but what does sleeping with me have to do with it? And who is she?' Leo replied, still confused, but half getting the gist.

'She is my childhood friend. This whole Gregory stuff pulled us apart. I needed to keep her away from me till I manage to end the demon lord once and for all.

But I couldn't help but want her now, more than ever. We should both be enjoying your money together.' She replied with an emoji of a person with a big grin on its face.

Her phone ranged immediately.

"Are you okay? Should I come back?" Leo asked, not finding her reply funny a bit, even though she added a funny emoji at the end of it.

He knew she never mentioned about a friend once, so for her to talk about it now, she must be feeling hurt.

Clara scoffed. She didn't think she could hide her feelings any longer. "I'm not okay, Leo. You know the worst part? I can't even miss her to my heart's content without that demon feeling my sadness and mocked me. I have to look strong when I'm not." she said, letting out a deep sigh.

"I will join you soon, let's talk about it when I get there." Leo replied and ended the call.

Clara heard a knock a few minutes after and went to open the door.

His tall figure appeared in her line of sight with worry that marred his expression.

"That was fast." Clara said as she moved aside for Leo to come in.

Leo pulled her into a hug, immediately. "Sorry you had to go through that." He said, tightening his arms around her.

Clara laughed at him. "What if I told you that I tricked you to come back?" she asked.

Leo wasn't in the mood to joke around.

"It's okay to feel, that's what makes us a living being. Don't let him turn you into a doll, princess.

Cry if you feel sad. Curse to let out your frustration, when the need arose. Let him mock you if he wants. I am here and I will share the pain with you." Leo said, resting his chin on her head and hugged her body to his own more intimately while stroking her back.

Clara had no idea that she had broken down once and rant about how she is nothing without a certain someone in front of Leo in her drunken state.

That was the reason why he didn't buy her jokes about tricking him to come back.

With a broken voice, "I'm not human." Clara said.

"You are, to me." Leo said, pulling her back and stared into her eyes which were getting teary. "Everything is going to be okay." He added, placing a soft kiss on her forehead.

The rumbling of the sky was heard, as well as the lightning sound. It was so loud that Leo froze for a second, before digesting the fact that it's suddenly raining.

The sound of downpour of rain could be heard and obvious that it's dropping harshly.

Wow. Thought Leo.

Clara scoff amidst tears. "See? I can't even cry in peace. I can't share a tear of sorrow." She said and wanted to leave.

He held her back and chuckled.

"Actually, I was worried because it seems I'm going to have to sleep over now." Leo said trying to brush away her words

He could imagine what she must have gone through in the past. Scared to cry and let herself feel.

"That's true, but sadly I don't want to do it with you anymore." Clara said, still sniffing her nose.

"That makes the two of us, I don't think I'm ready to watch you scrimmage with some demon, while I just stay in hiding, hoping not to get killed like a coward." Leo said, wrapping his arms around her waist.

This has been a major worry for him now. The thought that his woman would be up against a demon and he wouldn't be able to help was not very nice.

"Are you scared?" Clara asked, still letting her tears fall.
