Chapter 183 - Tripped

"Let's meet up and talk, Leo." Clara said, immediately her call to Leo got through.

Leo was still worried about how she would react when she saw him looking so haggard.

He looked so tired and was just giving it his all to stay focused.

He gave her another excuse but promised to surprise her.

Clara, who had felt that she could convince him to meet, couldn't help but felt a little disappointed.

"Should I come to your office?" She asked and Leo replied that he was out on a business meeting.

This was unlikely.

Clara felt that something was wrong. Perhaps she should go to his mansion? She thought but shook it off.

It would appear like she was forcing herself on him.

....

The next day, she had arrived at work earlier, because the week was a busy one. She had a few shoots that are mandatory, because the banners were already being worked on.

She was about to head to the bus station after her shoot for the day, when she heard her name from behind.

"Clara!" Callum called.

He was clad in an indigo shirt and blue suit trousers. He looked just as handsome as always, with his eyes doing the smiling and making him look more alluring.

The way he called her name felt so weird. It was like they've known each other since birth and meeting again.

She turned around.

"Hey! How can you call me like we are friends?" Clara asked, after seeing the carefree expression on Callum's face.

He walked up to her with his beautiful smile still intact, but Clara had learned her lesson after the clumsy mistake that she made earlier.

"Who knows tomorrow?" Callum asked in return with a sweet smile.

"What do you want?" Clara asked, trying to mind her speech. She had no idea when she would say something she shouldn't say again.

She knows her flaw and since there is nothing she could do about it, she should just try to adjust.

"What happened to our dinner meeting?" Callum asked.

They were standing in front of each other.

"Not interested in talking with you outside this premises." Clara said, trying to explain it from Leo's point of view.

Callum scoffed at her word. "It's okay, Clara. It won't be this fun if you agree to it." He said.

Clara saw that the way he talked to her was clearly making it obvious that he's interested in her and yeah! Leo was right after all.

"Please, I'm not interested in playing such games with you." Clara replied, feeling nervous a little, because she didn't want any misunderstanding.

Leo has not texted her since the other day because of him. Aside from when she called him and informed him about visiting him and his reply, he didn't bother to contact her constantly like he used to.

"Let me have your number, Clara." Callum said.

"No." Clara replied flatly.

Callum finds her more and more interesting and decides to play with her a bit.

In a swift movement, which was shocking to Clara, he reached for the phone in her hand.

"What are you doing?" Clara asked and glared at him as he snatched her phone.

"Hey! Give it back." She added, as he stepped back and tried to unlock it.

"I don't want to." Callum said, as he raised his hand up and swiped open the phone and acting so casually as if there's something going on between them.

"What the hell do you think you are doing?" Clara growled at him and tried to snatch the phone back from him.

But due to their difference in height, she couldn't reach it.

She reached up her hand in the air and knew that their body would end up touching if she used all her energy.

"Dude! Give it back while I'm still being nice." Clara warned.

"Threat? I Like that." Callum smirked and still held the phone up.

But Clara was done playing games. Her eyes turned white and Callum couldn't look away at the split second.

"Give it now!" Clara compelled him, making him release the phone immediately.

He subconsciously dropped it in mid air.

As soon as she got hold of her phone, she turned back to leave and oh dear!

She lost her footing and her body swung forward.

She didn't really mind falling since she won't get hurt anyway, but before she realised what was happening, Callum had caught her.

His hand sn.a.k.e.d around her waist immediately and pulled her to him.

"Get your hand off me!" Clara growled, making Callum release her immediately, while raising his hand in the air, indicating surrender.

"Do you have to look at me like that? I was only trying to help." Callum said, smiling at Clara's emerald pupil that was flashing with annoyance.

"You want to die? You let your hand touch me again, and watch how I make you regret it." Clara threatened and turned to leave.

Callum, who finds her to be more and more interesting, took large strides and stood in front of her.

Clara was reaching her limits. If this dude provoked her more than he was already doing, she would compel him to run into a moving vehicle.

"Miss Welch, since you don't want to be friends, let's talk business then." He said with a straight face with no sign of joking around anymore.

Clara looked up at him and he nodded his head, "I'm serious now." He said.

"Fine!" Clara said and let out a sharp breath before returning with him to his office.

If he tried anything silly, she would just have to disfigure his handsome face with her punch.

She didn't even have to use her power to make that happen.

They begin entering the building of the company again, while some people stare at them, wondering if there's something going on between them, because Callum isn't the type to associate with people too much.

...

Meanwhile.

Immediately Callum held Clara by her waist, someone had secretly taken the pictures of the scene.
