CH 29

He should have been beaten and scolded, but that pitiful dog – no, that wolf was the master of this mansion. 

“Krrrr! Kyaaang! Arf, arf!”

Moreover, his face was like he doesn’t know what he had done wrong so he was acting like that. This was just absurd when she thinks that this was a blood relative of the wolves lacking in humanity and morality – because even wolves have conscience. 

“What did you do well that you’re barking! Be quiet!” 

He quickly curled his tail and whine and Alexa’s words. 

“You can scold him.” 

Alexa stretched her arm holding Ysildus. He showed his pink belly then opened his eyes widely and bared his fangs at them without Alexa’s knowledge. His eyes were surely those of a wolf. Visten took a step back. 

“N, no need…. I just needed to find the culprit. After all, everything in this castle belongs to Young Master Ysildus.”

“Aigoo, you can’t look at everything like that.” 

Alexa pursed her lips and took Ysildus back into her arms. It was because she felt like she should wash Ysildus first while washing her face. 

With an awkward laugh, the laughing Visten quickly changed the subject. 

“So, will you attend class today?”

“Of course.”

“I heard that you tried on new clothes yesterday.”

“Ah.”

But they bought too much. Just before Alexa could nod her head and open her mouth to say that she could refund it, Visten was quicker than her.

“I didn’t think you’d grow this fast, Alexa. Wouldn’t it be better to buy you a dressing room?”

“Pardon?”

Alexa asked back with eyes wide open. 

“So that your clothes can be tailored once a week.” 

Alexa blankly blinked her eyes. How on earth do these people not have a sense of money? Will they just lose it like this? 

“You need to wash up first. You also need to have breakfast.”

It was the Head Maid who took Alexa away, who was blinking without saying anything. 

“Now, now, go inside. Hurry. You shouldn’t skip breakfast when you’re growing up.”

While Alexa was being pushed by the Head Maid, there was a buzzing noise behind her.

“Yes, I have eaten before Miss Alexa.”

Shen then smiled brightly, but she was too pretty so she could see why she had the position as the female lead. She had the same red hair, but she was on the more vivid side. She still doesn’t know how to solve this situation. To give Selina her rightful place, then she would have to make the relationship between Selina and Ysildus stronger…. 

‘Shall we go on a picnic together?’

It sounded like a good idea. She was actually surprised yesterday to hear  that Selina had stolen, but if you think about it, that may have been the only way for the orphaned Selina to survive. The others were very casual regarding it, so she wonders if the original Alexa was also alright with this. Besides, how can Alexa not know? What Selina can do for the Grand Duchy in the future. 

She was destined to quell Ysildus’ madness and cruelty, and save countless people. As what was implied in the novel, Selina was also an important person to do some kind of work. Alexa concluded that it was reasonable to go on a picnic with Selina after much consideration. 

“Selina, would you like to go on a picnic with me?”

“… A picnic?”

Alexa nodded her head.

In fact, Selina doesn’t have the power to reject Alexa’s offer. Alexa had absolute power in the Grand Duchy, while Selina was only a mere maid. It wasn’t only one or two eyes that looked at Selina like piercing needles without Alexa’s knowledge. Selina bit her lip. 

‘Just what was the difference between her and me…?’

Her jealousy started to rise up slowly. But she should never show that feeling. Ruella would come after her and kill her as soon as she is driven out of the castle. She should just be as obedient as possible and put on her mask of goodness. 

Selina patted herself. Even if she was only a filthy girl in front of this girl who was showered with endless good luck, she had no choice but to endure it. 

Selina replied with a grin, “I would love that, Miss Alexa.”

Only then did the oppressing eyes looking at Selina become lighter. Their gaze shifted away only after confirming that she didn’t refuse Alexa’s request. Selina bowed her head and waited for Alexa. 

“Thank you for agreeing to come with me, Selina.”

Alexa smiled. Confirming her expression, the Head Maid, the butler and Visten admitted that the butler’s choice of people wasn’t so bad. Selina became a very suitable toy for Alexa to play with, who seemed bored these days. 

Visten beckoned the Head Maid with a twisted smile. 

“Don’t make her utter nonsense and keep an eye on her.” 

“Yes, Lieutenant.”

“Take care of her if she does something strange.” 

The Head Maid smiled and moved away. But in front of Alexa, who was talking behind them, 

“Alexa, do you have time after class today?”

“Ah yes!”

“The imperial family is acting strangely this time. I have something to discuss with you.” 

“Then I’ll see you in your office as soon as class is over.”

“Thank you.”

He was just a very kind man.

Not here? He then tilted his head. Alexa naturally beckoned Ysildus from her room and knocked on the office.

Alexa was about to put her hand on the doorknob when the door opened wide itself. 

“Oh….”

Alexa blinked and hurriedly greeted them.

“Hello! I am Alexa.”

It was the first time she met him, and he seemed to be bigger than Karrolf. Additionally, his expression was grim and threatening. He was wearing a cape with Thersion’s pattern and armor. 

“Move.”

But Visten only pushed him aside to make sure she’s not scared. 

“Ah, brother!!”

“What are you doing standing in front of the kid? That’s why there’s no kid who isn’t afraid of you.” 

“Aren’t you really too harsh on your younger brother you haven’t seen in a long time?”

The man grumbled and brushed off his cloak. 

“This is my younger brother, Alexa. You can call him Clouster.” 

Alexa opened her eyes widely. 

‘Baron Visten’s younger brother?’

Alexa naturally knew him. Was he called Clouster? He was the new Knights Commander of the Knights Order who left for war with the Grand Duke and Grand Duchess. And in the future, he will be Ysildus’…. 

“Krrrrr! Arf! Arffff! Arf! Arf!”

Startled, Alexa hugged Ysildus who was pushing Clouster threateningly. 

“Hey, you can’t do that!”

He’s going to be your teacher. You have to look good in front of your teacher. 

Alexa smiled brightly and looked up at Clouster. She had to bend her neck just to see his face. Perhaps it was because he was tall and big, but he looked even scarier. 

He would teach Ysildus swordsmanship and make him roll around. He was also the most helpful person for Ysildus even when he had gone to war. Even so, that was the heart of someone who had raised him up….. 

Alexa coughed heavily and said, “I wish you all the best in the future!”

Clouster shook Alexa’s hand with three fingers. He then tilted his head and looked down at his hand. Visten pushed Clouster outside on his back. 

“Phew, Alexa, come in.”

“Yes!”

All the sweets he had prepared for Alexa’s arrival had disappeared to that rascal’s stomach. He knew that the Head Maid was restricting Alexa from eating sweets so he had prepared secretly. Visten sighed in regret 

“Alexa. This was what was only left since that one guest had left first. Would you like a chocolate cake?” 

“Wow! Yes!”

This is a relief. Visten nodded satisfactorily. 

Ysildus clung on Alexa’s leg who was eating the cake with a cute fork. Ysildus must eat what  Alexa eats, who was satisfied with just eating by herself. 

“Kiiiing….”
