CH 24

“Show me your hand.”

“Are you going to hit me?”

“No! Phew. You’ll give it to me nicely, or you’ll give it to me after I beat you up?” 

In the end, the junior knight gently put the money pouch on the palm of his extended hand. 

“Th, this….”

“I told you, don’t let Miss Alexa be bothered by it. This amount of money is actually a penny for Thersion. What matters now is that she did not.”

“Wow. Senior, how are you so confident?”

“You punk! Are you listening to me now?”

“Ahem.” 

The junior knight’s body was bitten. 

In the end, the fact that Selina didn’t steal money but was ‘freed’ by them won’t be known. Selina would just think she was a little bit lucky. Anyway, it was a happy ending for everyone.

Selina hesitated as she headed towards the place where the woman was waiting for her. That woman gave her a bracelet and told her not to even think of escaping. She knew very well how the bracelet works because she had been a servant in the Magic Tower before. When it is activated, the poison inside the bracelet seeps into the skin. It was a poison enough to shed tears of blood, so it was the ideal thing to scare. 

Selina witnessed how several people died of this poison. Their limbs were twisted, dying while foaming blood in their mouth, and how desperate their painful screams were as they were dying. But that dreadful thing now was wrapped around Selina’s wrist. 

Selina seemed to be able to do anything the woman tells her to do – because she didn’t want to die. Selina hitched her breath and opened the door of the bedroom the woman was waiting at. 

“Did you succeed?”

“G, gasp! Yes! I brought it!”

She thought that she’d be caught at first, but wasn’t it actually true? There were so many knights there! 

Her heart was beating so fast, and they strangely let Selina go without asking her anything. Maybe they didn’t really notice. When Selina approached them and opened the money pouch she had stolen, she found a huge amount of gold. She was so scared she couldn’t even touch it. 

Selina handed the money pouch to the woman. The woman tossed the money pouch upwards with a deep smile on her face as she took it from her. 

‘Looks like she’s ready.’

The woman squinted her eyes. At the end of the woman’s gaze was the flag of the Grand Duke’s Castle fluttering in the wind. I want to have that huge castle. Her eyes filled with desire were wickedly distorted. 

How dare those non-humans run around like this? Besides, aren’t you enjoying a great power? If Thersion could be brought down, then that castle would likely belong to the woman. 

The woman reached out to Selina. This child would be the pillar of Thersion’s destruction. 

The woman smiled as she stroked Selina’s shrinking head. 

“Shh, you don’t have to be afraid. I will not hurt you.”

Because the ones who will harm you are those damn wolves. The woman’s eyes darkened.

Arriving at the weapons store, Alexa was the first to open the money pouch and show it to the owner. This was following the action Visten showed that was mentioned in the novel, and the shopkeeper who confirmed Alexa’s identity led them deep inside. 

“You are a guest that shouldn’t be taken lightly. Please come this way.” 

Alexa walked inside accompanied by Terrun and Ysu. The knights were startled by Alexa’s sudden action and quickly followed her. 

‘How did Miss Alexa know about this?’

‘She’s always intelligent!’

‘Oh, that’s right.’

They were having a useless internal conversation. 

Inside the store, there were great swords that weren’t shown outside. What Alexa wants to buy is…. 

‘That’s the one!’

It was just as described in the novel. Its handle was embossed with a golden dragon and there were studded red jewels at the tip of the sword. The blade had a jewel embedded on it unlike other swords, but it wasn’t just an ordinary jewel. It was a gem that could absorb and emit as much mana as possible. Moreover, the sharp feeling emitting from the blue sword – it looks like it could really cut a piece of paper. 

“Terrun, what do you think about that?”

“That sword…? I know that one.”

Terrun blinked.

“Tyrus’ magic sword – have you also heard of that, Terrun?”

“Dad said that he would buy it for me – next year.”

“Ah, oh…. So it was like that. Can I buy it first?”

She was surprised that she had hit what Visten was going to do, but what can she do? She already did it. 

Terrun nodded and thought, if you don’t have enough money and I add the gold I got… wait. 

‘Where did it go?’

Terrun felt his body when he realized that his money pouch had disappeared. But no matter how hard he searched for it, nothing came out. He didn’t even feel that Ysildus had jumped off from his arm as soon as his arm loosened. 

“Ah…?”

“Terrun.”

Terrun was called by the knights into the corner. 

“Here, take this.”

“Oh…?”

The knights said, giving Terrun a new money pouch.

“This is not strange at all. I was told to give you this if you lose yours.” 

That’s a relief. I don’t know how I lost my own money pouch, but I know that I can buy anything Alexa wants with this money. Terrun nodded sadly. 

“Yes!”

As expected, Dad is the best. Terrun took the money pouch and ran towards Alexa. 

“Arf! Krrrrr!”

He was already next to Alexa and ignored the barking Ysildus at him.

As soon as Alexa returned to the castle, she ran to her room.

“Arf! Arf!”

Tadadadada~ 

“Me too!”

She was followed by a boy and an animal as if it was only natural. 

“You’re back?”

“Yes!”

She tried talking to Alexa then and there, but she wasn’t in the mood to properly answer. She couldn’t wait to go and look at the medicines she had bought. 

‘It’s certainly one of these!’

She wanted to give her best with the first homework Karrolf had given her. Alexa panted as she opened the door to her bedroom. She then ran toward the table and took out the pills from the drawer. 

‘Though I can only compare their smell….’

Alexa sniffed them with her nose, but there was a problem. As the pill had already been made for some time, its smell was gone and there was only a faint remaining on it. She couldn’t tell them apart based on that at all. 

“Ah….”

Alexa collapsed on the floor as her legs became weak. 

“What’s the matter? Are you hurting somewhere, Alexa? Do you want to eat some egg fried rice?” Terrun was startled and asked Alexa. 

Ysu suddenly ran to Alexa and sat on her lap while jumping around. It was like he was asking Alexa what the matter is while he was biting her finger. Terrun was even ready to give up his favorite egg fried rice. 

Alexa mumbled in tears, “There’s no smell.”

“Smell?”

“Hmm, there’s no smell here.”

“Arf?”

What do you mean it doesn’t smell? It stinks like this. Terrun and Ysu twitch their noses at the same time. 

‘Uh.’

The large, green pill had an indescribably strong odor, and the black pill had a pungent odor. 

With a particular bad memory with the black pill among the pills rolling on the floor, Ysildus tapped it with his front paw as if telling it to go away…. But the round pill rolled back towards Ysildus. 

“Krrrrng!”

Ysildus started spinning around it, threatening the pill the size of a fingernail. Terrun looked at his pathetic figure and shook his head. 

“I can smell it, Alexa.”

“Huh?”

Alexa turned her head towards him. That’s right, they are wolves! I forgot that their sense of smell was amazing.  Alexa straightened up and sat down. 

“Then Terrun, can you pick out the medicine that smells like the one I have here?” 

Terrun nodded. It wasn’t that difficult since there was only one medicinal herb with such a weak odor. He pointed to one of the herbs Alexa unfolded with her fingers. 

“This is it!”

“Ah, thank you! Thank you so much, Terrun!”

Overjoyed, Alexa hugged Terrun tightly. She didn’t realize Terrun’s ears had turned red and the Ysildus who was just playing well by himself, had genuinely bit Terrun’s ankle. 

Pulling herself away from him, Alexa patted Terrun’s head. 

“I’ll make you egg fried rice five times!”

“U-u-uh, hmm….” Terrun mumbled and nodded. He then got up and dashed towards the door. 

“Where are you going?”

“I-I-I will g-go to the b-b-bathroom.” 

“Ah. Come back quickly, Terrun!”

Terrun nodded mechanically.

“Karrr! Arf!”

Dangling from Terrun’s ankles, Ysildus jumped in front of the door, with an expression of Whew! I was finally able to kick him out!
