Chapter 203: Weird

Name:Human King Author:Zaysay
"Hmm..." Dawn hummed as he kept his senses sharp and clear as he looked at the ape monster that was just standing in front of him.

The ape monster was just sitting on the ground as he looked at the river of blood that suddenly ravished the forest with its blood.

It seems that it was looking for someone, and Dawn could tell that pretty well even though he was just looking at the ape monster as he stood on top of a tree.

---Is he looking for the hyenas?

Dawn thought as he tried to look in the direction where the ape monster was looking at.

Since the ape monster was looking in the general direction of the river of blood, then the hyenas should be there as well.

After all, it wouldn't have any reason to look at there if its masters are not there.

What's more, Dawn has basically confirmed by now that the hyenas were definitely near the ape monster as he was now near the ape monsters.

---I can feel them somehow, but I can't pick them up literally.

It's as if I'm looking at the water or something. Dawn thought as he tried to close his eyes as he focused on feeling the surroundings with his senses.

He really couldn't feel them at all. Even though Dawn was trying so hard to find them right now, there was nothing.

But...there was this faint feeling that he sometimes gets whenever he tried looking for the hyenas.

That faint feeling was the reason why Dawn believed that the ape monster was near to its masters.

However, before even Dawn could try and sniff the hyenas out of this place, he could feel that his goblins have finally caught up to him, and are now stationed right behind him.

"King." Didi's voice resounded out in his ears, and Dawn could feel that they were now here.

It seems that Didi didn't notice that Dawn was trying to concentrate, which is why he spoke.

Well, it didn't really matter to Dawn as he just opened his eyes and turned around.

"Go on and observe the ape monster and try to find the hyenas from all angles that you can try."

Dawn said as he laid down the order that he had for the goblins. Of course, now that he said it, the goblins quickly went to work as they immediately disappeared one by one.

Didi as well as Una also went to work as they spread out into the forest.

Since Dawn said that they have to use all angles that they can try, the goblins...planned to observe the monster with a full circle formation.

And that was what exactly what they did as each goblin was now in position, surrounding the ape monster.

It was amazing as to how they were able to think of this without even talking with each other, but that was only because they already knew what to do as soon as the order came from the king.

Anyway, it was with this kind of formation that the goblins observed the ape monster and tried to find the hyenas.

Of course, when the goblins were in their positions now, Dawn could feel them very well.

He could feel that the goblins were now in position, standing on top of each of their respective trees.

And as soon as he felt that they were now in position, he quickly closed his eyes as he used his senses to try and feel the hyenas again.

After all, there was literally nothing he could do except to try and try and try again.

Even though Dawn really couldn't find them or something like that in the forest, there was just no way for him to give up in this situation when he decided to come back and kill the hyenas.

What's more, it's not like the hyenas would suddenly disappear from this forest just because the river of blood suddenly appeared and destroyed the center part of the southeast of the forest.

They would still be here, and if Dawn's instincts were correct, they should be with the ape monster.

However, even though the goblins were currently observing the ape monster and they were trying their best to sniff out the hyenas, the goblins couldn't find anything.

It was as if the hyenas really did disappear from this place, but that was not important in this situation.

Right, that was not important in this situation as there was something more...important, something weird was going on.

And that was...the ape monster was not moving at all even though the goblins and Dawn were currently watching over it like some hawks gawking at their prey.

---That's weird...why isn't it moving? Is it dead? Impossible, I already felt that it is alive.

Dawn thought as he opened his eyes slowly. It was the truth that Dawn felt that the ape monster was still alive, and that was why he even observed from the tree.

After all, he didn't want to disturb the ape monster and give away his position when he needed to hide to make sure that the hyenas wouldn't be able to sense him.

Of course, that was the same case for his goblins as well.

That was why it was weird for the monster to not move even though a long time has passed already.

"I have no choice..." Dawn murmured as he decided to go down and check the ape monster.

After all, he literally has no choice in this situation. The ape monster was not moving, and even though Dawn could feel that the ape monster was alive, the ape monster didn't show any signs that it was.

What's more, Dawn had to go down there and check if it was indeed alive to make sure that they wouldn't waste any more time on this ape monster that was supposed to guide them to the hyenas.

If Dawn wastes more time than he already has, then things might become a little bit more dangerous as that would mean more time for the hyenas to regroup their monsters and corner Dawn again.

"Let's see..." Dawn murmured as he began to descend down on the ground.

He then proceeded to walk towards the ape monster, but when he felt that the goblins were alerted by his sudden actions, he soon raised his right hand as a signal for them to not worry about him or something like that.

Of course, the goblins were able to see that signal very well, and it seems that they also understood what Dawn was trying to say as they...turned around to make sure that no monster would get in their king's way.

Right, they decided to just guard this place. Well, Dawn didn't really care about it now that he has to check if they were really here.

No...Dawn was already sure that they were not here since he was forced to check.

What he was really doing here was to see what was wrong with the ape monkey.

Anyways, it didn't take long for Dawn to arrive right in front of the ape monster, and he was now looking at the ape monster right in the eye.

And since Dawn was looking at the ape monster right in the eye, that means that...it was dead.

After all, the ape monster was not reacting to him at all even though a foreign monster suddenly came into its field of vision.

"Hmm...then how come I felt that it was still alive?" Dawn murmured as he began to approach the ape monster.

Dawn was now close to the ape monster that Dawn was basically facing the ape monster's skin.

"Oh, so it was a special trait of this monster, being able to 'remain alive' even though it's dead." Dawn said as he touched the ape monster with his right hand.

Of course, now that Dawn knew that there was really nothing here in this place, it was now time to move to somewhere else to try and get some more information about the hyenas.

Dawn couldn't and shouldn't let this opportunity get away or Dawn wouldn't be able to defeat the hyenas anymore with their massive numbers.

That was why...Dawn turned around as he then disappeared. Of course, that was just because he was moving fast enough to disappear.

And as soon as Dawn disappeared from this place, the goblins were quick to notice it as Didi was observing and watching the king from the trees.

"Follow the king." Didi said as he disappeared from the tree that he was standing on.

Of course, since the order was now given down to the goblins, they also disappeared as they started to follow right after the king without making any noise.

They understood how important this part was, so there was no way that they would make a mistake in this situation.

And Dawn was...he was running as he began to monitor the area with his insane senses.

"Hmmm...where the fuck are they?" Dawn murmured as he jumped from a tree to another.
