Chapter 142: For the king, by the king

Name:Human King Author:Zaysay
Once his goals were set, Dawn quickly got to work in order to become Duke.

Of course, he didn't go out thoughtlessly like the last time he did when he went to the west.

He didn't want to get beaten up and defeated and then lost more of his goblins, after all.

That was why Dawn was back in his village right now in order to get some of his subordinates to come with him.

And as soon as he did, he was welcomed by the one who was taking charge in here, Karkas.

"My king." Karkas said as he bowed down to Dawn.

Moris was right behind Dawn, and he was just staying quiet in all this.

After all, he was shocked to hear that the king would use him to grind some monsters.

It was something unexpected, but well.

Moris didn't really care about that, as this was something the king ordered.

When Moris confirmed that Dawn was different from the king in the Holy Lands, Moris was already willing to give up his life to Dawn.

It was then that Dawn finally spoke. It took him quite a while to speak as he was observing the goblins who were still working hard to clean the village.

There were also some goblins who were trying to guard the village and set their territory.

They would leave their smell and try to leave a mark anywhere.

As long as they could mark it as theirs, no weak monsters would dare wander around here ever again.

"Karkas, how many goblins are free right now?"

And when Dawn asked him that, Karkas' brain immediately went to work.

After all, it was Dawn who was asking.

And the answer that Karkas arrived at was...

"There are no free goblins right now, my king."

None. All goblins were working right now, and it's either they were expanding the territory, or they were keeping guard of the king.

As they already fought monsters in here, they didn't have to hunt for food.

There were many in here, after all.

"Call Didi and Una. I want those two guys and their unit of goblins. If there are problems caused by their absence, make do with it."

"Exchange the goblins who were guarding me with them."

"Ah, wait. How many goblins are there in Didi's unit?"

As Dawn's village was squashed down to half a thousand, Dawn knew that there would be some reformation going on.

However, that could be done later. What Dawn needed was some goblins to accompany him.

"Due to our recent fights, there are only 50 goblins in his unit." Karkas answered as calmly as possible.

It was even weird that he was able to know the answer right off the bat, but that was Karkas.

Karkas is the one who is in charge of everything, and he was the goblin who is blessed with a good head above his shoulders.

"Good. Bring them here. Also, I want you to find out how many days a goblin must wait before they give birth."

Dawn was planning to increase the goblin's numbers with natural birth.

After all, that was the only thing he could count on, and that was the better way.

However, it seems that it was unnecessary for Karkas to find out about that part, as Moris answered.

Well, Moris was part of a clan that knows everything about the goblin race.

It would be weird if Moris didn't know something so basic.

"If I may, Your Highness..."

"It only takes three months of time for a goblin baby to be born."

"However, there are many cases of the baby not being able to survive due to harsh environment and not safe birthplace."

"I believe the village must create a special haven for those goblins who would give birth."

What Moris suggested was reasonable, and that was why Dawn just nodded his head.

"I'll leave that part to you, Karkas. Call the goblins that I wanted."

However, it seems that there was no need for that as Didi and Una immediately arrived.

It seems that they were already called by some goblins as Dawn could see some goblins who were breathing roughly.

---Oh? Karkas really is convenient when it comes to things like this.

Dawn knew that Karkas ordered those goblins, but it was just too fast.

Well, Dawn would take this kind of subordinate as Karkas was really useful.

"King." Didi said as he kneeled.

Una was right behind him, and Una was kneeling too. After all, they were in the presence of the king.

There's no way they would just stand in front of him.

"What is your order?"

Didi was the one to speak that.

After all, he was the one with authority and not Una.

Anyway, the reason why he was asking this was that he was just abruptly called from the frontlines.

He didn't know anything that was going on, but that was fine.

He just needed to know, and he would do his best.

It was then that Dawn finally spoke once more.

He wanted to rush things now and get to the Duke rank, after all.

"Una. Get the goblins under Didi's leadership, and come back here with them."

"Didi, get ready. I will have you guys escort me. We will start a hunt."

And when Didi heard that, he became shocked.

After all, the king does not talk about these kinds of matters.

What's more, the king only hunts when it is for the goblins.

However, since the goblins were trying hard to recover and recuperating from the injuries, it was clear that the hunt was not for them.

And Didi knew that instantly, which was the reason why he was shocked.

After all, if it were not for the goblins, then what is the reason for the king to move?

'It's for himself!' Didi thought as he widened his eyes.

His mouth then turned upwards as he imagined that this hunt would be for the king.

Although it may sound selfish that the king was hunting for himself, it was fine.

In fact, that was what the goblins wanted. They wanted the king to focus on himself.

'I must do my best!' Didi thought as he bowed his head even deeper.

"As you will, king!" And when Didi spoke, Una already disappeared as he went to get the goblins.

"Stand up." Dawn said as he looked at Karkas and Didi.

Of course, he didn't want his goblins to be kneeling all day as they have more work to do.

And it was then that Karkas spoke.

"King, what will...you be doing?"

As Karkas didn't know what would happen, he was curious, of course.

It was connected to his king, after all.

However, the real reason why he asked is that what happened with the Warmen might happen again.

Karkas wanted to make sure that the king wouldn't get hurt like that again.

Of course, Dawn knew that as he answered.

"I will be going to the north with Moris and Didi."

"I will be killing some monsters, and I won't be back until I get another blessing by the battlefield."

"By then, you will take care of the village. Don't focus on hunting too much, and just try to recover."

"I also want you guys to try and give birth to new goblins."

And when Dawn finished saying all that, Karkas immediately bowed his head.

"Yes, my king. I shall do my best." Karkas said.

Although Karkas wanted to protect Dawn, he knew that Dawn changed.

He knew that Dawn was hungry for power right now. And Karkas knew that Dawn would get angry if Karkas were to overstep his boundary.

That was why he could only accept Dawn's decision.

Well, that's what Karkas wanted to do in the first place, anyway.

And it was then that Dawn could see something moving in the forest.

It was the goblins that Una was bringing back from the front lines.

Although Dawn could have just gotten any goblins here in this village, he didn't.

Even though he was saving time, he still went for Didi's original subordinates.

Why? It was because those goblins were more battle-oriented and were suited for fighting.

And what Dawn was planning to do was going to be full of that.

Dawn wanted these 50 normal goblins to be trained and be blessed goblins by the time they returned here.

Dawn wasn't just thinking of himself, but also of the goblins and their overall strength.

That was why Dawn was excited.

---How strong would the village be once I come back?

Either way, Dawn was sure that they would be much stronger than now.

And Dawn was sure that once he comes back here, the forest would change owners.

The one who would be the next owner of the forest was, of course, the King of Goblins, Dawn.

"Let's go, you bastards!" Dawn said as he raised his hand.

"It's a long-time hunt!"

It was the start of Dawn's training.
