Chapter 55: South (2)

Name:Human King Author:Zaysay
The goblins received the order to march, and they started right away as the goblins walked towards the three big villages' location.

Even though they just came from a fierce battle, they weren't so weak as to complain and fall during a march.

In fact, they were even excited that they would soon fight for the king.

Dawn's goblins were getting tired of the daily hunt because it was normal for them now.

They wanted something out of the norm, something like this where they would bring down a force thrice their size!

Their morale was high as the sky, and they were ready to clash at any moment.

Even the roaming monsters were destroyed just by the normal goblins.

Seeing those goblins work so hard for him, Dawn couldn't help but smile.

Even though most goblin chiefs or even human kings would feel the pressure when showered with intense loyalty, Dawn would never falter from it.

---I accept.

Dawn would never run and face them head-on. Why should he feel pressured when he can just work as hard as his goblins?

It was a simple answer, but in reality, it is hard to do so. Human kings or even a commoner would falter from expectations because they would get tired from it.

The same goes for goblin chiefs. They may have robust bodies, but in the end, that was all.

However, Dawn just needs to make sure that he never falls behind. Then, what should he do?

---I just need to fight.

A goblin's life centers on fighting. If a normal goblin could become strong through fighting daily, the king will also grow strong by fighting daily.

Anything they do, anything they have, anything they want is connected to fighting. Even their safety and lives are connected to fighting.

And because of this, Dawn feels more confident than before. If the king was a hollow title for him before, now he had some substance that stems from his goblins.

As a king, Dawn now has a path to walk on that was forged by his people.

Anyway, it has been a few hours since they started marching.

The sun was walking towards the west to set. They traveled a great distance, and thus, Wos walked up to Dawn, who was surrounded by his retinue of blessed goblins.

Being the newcomer in the village, Wos wanted to contribute the most during this war.

He kneeled in front of Dawn before talking.

"King."

"Stand up. I'm not too strict with that."

Wos stood up immediately after hearing Dawn's words. Although he didn't expect such things, Wos wouldn't dare show it on his face.

"We are near the location of the three big villages."

Dawn nodded his head and looked at Karkas. Karkas lowered his head and then ran off to somewhere else.

"Tell me more about their village."

"Hmm. I haven't been there before, but I have heard from my previous chief that it is divided into three sections."

"Three sections?"

"Yes. It is like this..."

Wos bent his knees down and drew a line on the ground with his finger.

With the line, he then divided it with a circle on the edges and the center.

After finishing the small circles, he then circled the whole line and spoke.

"The three villages are set up like this. This one at the edge is the one that we will see soon. If we avoid the first village and cross the woods, we would see the second and so on."

Wos' fingers pointed to the first circle and jumped to the second and the third as he spoke.

"Hmm? I thought they were crowded in one big place..."

"No, but actually yes. They are so near each other that they would limit each other's movements."

Dawn thought that the Three Big Villages were located in just one village. That was why he thought that he could end them today.

But if the situation was going to be like this, they won't be able to end it in a single day.

They would have to fight the first village and then the second until the third.

But that's not all.

"Hmmm. Then, it also means that if I attack the first village, reinforcements may come from the second."

"Correct. I've heard that the Three Big Villages were created with reinforcing one another in mind. That is why it would be quite hard..."

Wos trailed off his sentence and let Dawn's imagination finish it. After all, what Wos' said was true.

Although he was presumptuous for mentioning that they would have a hard time in front of his chief, Wos wanted to know Dawn's temperament.

In that way, he would save trouble for himself in the future and possibly for his allies too.

It was then. A voice interrupted when neither of the two was talking.

"It's fine, king. We have a greater chance this way."

Dawn immediately turned his head at the voice's location, and he smiled when he saw the goblin.

"Karkas."

Dawn said with a flashy smile. Even the other goblins were all smiles when they heard Karkas' declaration.

"I leave it to you."

The sun has set on the west, and the goblins of the first village were returning from their hunt.

The first village had some houses that were composed of trees and trunks from the trees.

One could see goblins here and there littered across the village. Although the village didn't have any walls or something like that, the village's goblins could scare any monsters.

If ever monsters do have the guts to come here, they would be ripped apart by the blessed goblins that could be seen from the crowd.

Anyway, the village was big and at the center of it was the biggest house where the village chief resides.

Inside the house, a goblin who was as big as Womo was sitting on the ground. It was the chief, Vadu.

He is the one who created this village and also one of the reasons why the Three Big Villages was created.

"The night has come!"

With his senses, Vadu could see that the night has come. And as an individual, Vadu had a hobby that was close to addiction.

It was the hobby of walking around his village that he created.

Vadu stood up from his seat and walked off towards the door. For Vadu, who was getting closer to his death by the year, this was a life-saving grace.

Vadu will always feel a sense of accomplishment every time he finished a lap around his village.

It was the one thing that he would never miss on.

"Chief! Meat! Meat!"

Vadu heard the voice coming from one of his adjutants that just came back from a hunt.

The good old goblin was fine and had no injuries, proving his might in battle. Having no injuries, even a scratch, is difficult to achieve, even more so if they are in the forest.

"Ohh! Let me have some!"

Of course, Vadu had no plans of rejecting the idea of eating meat. Well, with the good old goblin waving it in the air, Vadu's mouth was watering.

Vadu plopped down to the ground, his butt facing the ground. He took the meat without reserve and ate it in one big bite.

"Hahaha, chief is hungry as ever."

"What do you take me as?!"

Hahaha! The good old goblin laughed with his hand sticking to his belly.

This was one of the reasons why Vadu had the hobby of walking close to addiction. It was to see his goblins and feel proud of them.

"Anyway, chief, that Womo should have conquered that place, right?"

"Hmm? Hahaha, of course! That Womo is a sly bastard. He tricks anyone, even himself."

"So, we are moving there soon, huh. Is it really alright? I thought the Five Great Clans prohibited us from going to the north?

Vadu stood up from his seat and wiped his bottom off the dust and dirt.

"If the Five Great Clans who are considered the owners of the south is missing, we can't stay here. Many strong monsters are eying this area. Anyway, I'll get going now. Don't choke on that meat!"

Vadu walked off, with no particular direction in mind. He just walked slowly until the entire sky was clouded by the darkness of the night.

When he reached the end of his walk, he was facing the south. At the end of his sight was the second village.

Although he couldn't see clearly because of the trees, he could see the shape somewhat.

This was the place where he would always end his walk.

"Hah. The goblin's future is dark..."

And this was the line that would signal the end of his walk.

Vadu looked at the moon once before turning around. When he saw the moon, he thought that it was laughing at him for being weak.

Whatever it was, Vadu walked off towards his house.

When Vadu disappeared completely, a figure approached where Vadu was standing.

As seconds passed, more and more figures showed up from the dark.

And then, the leading figure...Dawn gestured with his fingers and spoke with a small but powerful voice.

"Kill."
