---Hmmm this is amazing.

After agreeing to the position of the king, I learned a lot of things from the knowledge of the Elder. One is this Blessings of the Battlefield. I thought for sure that he was joking with me but when I tested it out, I was so surprised that I thought I was going crazy! It seems like this 'Blessings of the Battlefield' is something that rewards you after a fight. I asked the Elder who gives these rewards but he just answered with, "The battlefield."

The Elder too was surprised about the fact that I didn't know of this and even asked a strange question, "How did you survive in the wilds without knowing about the Blessings of the Battlefield?!" It seems that being able to survive with no knowledge about the ways of the goblin is a thing that is unreasonable for them. Well, I understand that because I was incomparably weak back then compared to now.

Incidentally, even though I didn't achieve evolution during the fight with the wolf, my rank was increased from Baron to High Baron. That explains why I was stronger after the fight even without hearing the voice that I heard when I first evolved. That is also the reason why the goblins are scared and called me king as I am a being that can kill them with one strike.

They call me king but it is not something that's so high that I can do whatever I want in this forest. It is but a hollow title. It made me happy when they called me king though it feels like I've returned to my rightful place. I also asked the Elder about my other instinct, the part that makes me prideful but he said that it was normal for ones who are blessed by the battlefield to feel like that. It was reasonable but I couldn't get off this feeling that it's not like that.

My light green skin is also an unprecedented situation in the knowledge of the Elder. According to him, there is no light green skin that can receive the blessings of the battlefield. It is a type of goblins that is used for other purposes but not to fight. I can only hope that it is something that has never happened here in this village but something that occurred in other places.

I was satisfied that one of my goals for coming in the south was fulfilled. I even got a bonus that is a village. Even though they are weak right now, I am sure that they can also evolve like I have done. Now, the only problem is strong monsters. It seems to me that if there is a village of goblins here then that means there is no strong monster predating this area, so I'll have to move around when I hunt. I also have to make sure that the other goblins can get stronger too.

"King."

"Hmm?"

While I was contemplating about my future problems, The Elder and the one that I saved, Didi came to my room. It is called a room but it is just something that is covered by the trunks of the trees.

"There is something we must talk to you about. There is a problem that can endanger our whole tribe."

"What is it?"

---A problem? What kind of problem is it?

The one who replied to my question is not the elder but Didi. He then lowered his head before speaking.

"The problem that can endanger our whole tribe is called Raen! He is from the east of our village and he is demanding that we submit to him!"

The moment I heard the word submit, something inside me screamed. Is this the other instinct?! I thought. The two flinched from the aura that I released but I calmed myself down. I can't believe that a goblin that is blessed by the battlefield can have this kind of repulse just because of the thought of serving. This also happened with the wolf. Just what is happeni-

"King! If you do not want to fight then I will! This village was ravaged by that despicable Raen and even our previous Chief was killed by him. The goblins in this village cannot serve under that man!"

---Oh? This guy... His eyes are calm but there is a fire burning inside him.

Moved by his determination, I decided to answer his fire with my own.

"Very well, I will kill that Raen!"

****

"Still, I can't believe that guy was suspicious, Guy. I'm surprised you could see through it. I was fooled, you know?"

"That's because you are you, Raizen. Still, I hope I'm wrong about this one. I sent scouts to ascertain the situation but…"

Having set up camp for the night, the two commanders are discussing about what happened earlier this day. Raizen was totally clueless about why Guy killed the messenger but he knew that if it was Guy who did that, there is a reason. Indeed, there is.

"I can't believe that they are bold enough to do this. Well, it should be fine. They were stupid enough to show themselves and I already sent messengers to the Commander about this."

Raizen replied with a serious expression, one that you don't see normally.

"If what you are thinking comes to pass, that means we won't be able to continue our expedition on the forest."

"Yeah. It's fortunate that we are already building a base with Big Tree as the center. That should help with the situation at least."

Guy noticed that there was something wrong about the messenger. He could see it for he served the army many years now. In his mind, the situation has already progressed to the point of no return. If handled wrong, it could cost the entire southern army. That is why he is hoping that he is wrong. If it was proven that the messenger was indeed a part of the unit of Sir Mane, he would probably accept the punishment happily. If not, he could only hope that the upper brass can cope with it. Cope with the unforeseen situation and the fact that there is a factor in the forest more deadly than the monsters.

No one knows what will happen and nothing can assure their safety…
