After Arthur and Mayra left, taking Elise with them to give them some privacy, Adele and Iblis nodded at one another and started walking toward him with a menacing look. Samuel panicked as they sat close to him, blocking his exit on both sides.

" Now, since we are finally alone, don't you think it's time to explain yourself?" Adele asked.

" If I tell you that she seduced me first, will you believe me?" He said with an innocent face.

" To hell with that excuse; she already told us enough to know how much fun you two had. Is that the reason why you went to that concert?" Iblis didn't like his answer.

" No, I don't know that she lived in the country! We didn't talk for years; I always thought she was doing her own thing and probably forgot about me!"

" So you were thinking about her!?" Adele added.

There was no winning with these girls; the more he tried to explain, the more he incriminated himself. Besides, how did they even know that he was in town?

It's not like he didn't want to be selfish, but he knew what the future held for him. The damn system had already proclaimed it as his destiny, and even if he fought it, it would get around it in mysterious ways.

The encounter with Kate confirmed his suspicion; he never thought they would end up like they did over a stupid drinking game. What's more shocking was that the girls that came into his life were perfect. They showed affection without demanding anything in return, even if they knew about his wealth.

Samuel didn't hide anything and told them about what happened in Paris and then about Kate. He mentioned that Elise was kidnapped, along with a short summary of her past, and he had to do certain things that he was not proud of, but he also alluded to the fact that everything was not over.

" That sounds horrible. Did you find her family?"

" No, but she needs special care, and we have to make sure that she doesn't remember about her past."

" We will help; since I know you will be staying here for a few weeks, how about we record the song you promised." Adele stood up.

On the other hand, Iblis didn't know what was happening; everything happened too fast. She always thought Adele was more refined and conservative, but instead of that feminine side, she witnessed her friend devour Samuel's lip with relish.
