Chapter 362 [Bonus ]Abandoned Again?-2



They were right, Mason did notice their presence, but he was already aware of Liliana's family. He also knew she was not heavily involved with her family business, so it was pointless to ask her about it.

He sent some female officers to ask for victims' statements while he focused his attention on the perpetrators.

" Miss Alice, please come with me. We will need your official statement about the incident." The female officer came to fetch her up. 

Liliana looked back at Samuel, and seeing him nod, she followed the officer to the side in the sitting area. Samuel asked Steve to accompany her just in case.

His phone suddenly rang, and when he looked at the number, it was Director Columbus. Even though he was not formally associated with the Harry Potter franchise, they would often talk, but his call's timing raised a slight suspicion in his heart.

" Hello, Uncle Columbus; what can I do for you?" He said calmly.

" Kid, I heard you had a conflict with Ben Bailey's son? I just got off the call with him; he was hounding me to ask you what's happening?" Columbus was reluctant to make this call, but he knew Ben and called personally; he had to give him some face.

" Glenn Bailey and his friends were going to hit Liliana in the lobby of Ritz-Carlton; I did what I had to do." Samuel flatly said. 

It could be a powerful call or just to flaunt his knowledge that he knew about Samuel's identity. Either way, Samuel didn't care about them.

" Oh, Forget it. I will hang up now." Columbus didn't know what to say; they deserved it. It was his son's stupidity that got him into this mess. Not to mention offending Samuel of all the people? Wasn't it a simple death wish?

He was now embarrassed to be a middleman; he wanted nothing to do with the father and son duo. They could sort it out themselves for all he cared. Thus, a peace deal was over before gaining any friction.

Glenn felt like his whole worldview was collapsing, seeing the way Liliana was being questioned. She was respectfully invited to the sofa in the corner of the lobby while someone brought her a cup of coffee. They were quick and respectful in everything.

The female police officer whispered a few questions about the incident and sometimes tried to comfort her despite Liliana not feeling anxious. When did the LA police become such a king? He honestly doubted his eyes. 

Because, in his case, he was still in restraints while being seated on the ground, it was totally unfair how they treated him and his friends. If he didn't answer one question, someone would rough him up on the spot. How could he not be so obedient all of a sudden?

Despite being injured, He had been hit several times in a few minutes. Couldn't they at least hide their bias?

He had to repeat his answers repeatedly while his friends were taken somewhere else to give their initial statements. He could hear their wails of crying and begging; he thought everything was over, but it was then his father entered the scene.

When Glenn saw his father step into the hotel, it was like god had descended into the mortal world to save him! He instantly became tearful while looking helplessly at his father, trying to get his attention. He was fearful the police would hit him again if he tried to talk out.

On the other hand, Ben immediately started looking for his son, but after scanning the lobby, he couldn't find him. He could see a few restrained people, but where was this brat?

He could see a pig-headed man looking at him affectionately, and he did find him familiar? But why was he beaten so miserably? It took him several seconds to identify that it was his own son!

Seeing his own son beaten like this, Ben Bailey became furious! He was more appalled at their interrogation method; it felt like his son was already guilty?

Occasionally, someone would hit him on the head, which also made him mad; if it continued like this, his son would become a retard!

He looked around, trying to find the most handsome man in the room. It was something Columbus said over the phone, " Look for the most handsome man in the room."

He never met Samuel and found it absurd when the other party mentioned it like this. But looking at the young man, he had to admit, Columbus was right.

He hurriedly came to Samuel's side and bowed, lowering his waist. He was very respectful with how he presented himself.

" Hello, young master, this is Ben Bailey, Glenn's father. I don't know how this mutt has offended you, but since you have already taught him a lesson. Can you find it in your heart to forgive my rebellious son?"

Ben Bailey knew how it all worked; he was careful with his wording and directly pointed out the beating his son had endured. Knowing Samuel's connection with his acting role, he had some leverage, but it was flimsy at best.

If these types of people didn't want to spread the rumour, it would not be present in the first place. Also, it would not look good on Samuel if this got out in public.

Samuel ignored Ben's careful deception for a few seconds. Ben was still bowing while Samuel kept staring at him; the old man was a little embarrassed, but it would all be good if this freed his son from his clutches.

He was also wondering if Columbus called him; Samuel would give him some face based on that, too, right?

" Umm, I was wondering if you have received any calls from some yet?" Ben finally asked as he couldn't take the silence anymore.

" You can call him to try?" Arthur said with a smile as he did the same thing Samuel did with his son.

Ben nodded and decided to call Columbus. It fully rang, but no one answered? The second call also went through, and the result was the same.

On his third try, the phone was turned off? Fuck, He must have blocked him! Ben immediately knew that he was abandoned by his connection.

While this was happening, Mason came forward to deliver the result of the pre-investigation.

"Mr Samuel, the questioning is almost done. We will do it according to protocol and take him back to the station for further questioning as we suspect the perpetrator is responsible for deliberately harassing several women in the past."

" What?!" Ben exclaimed.
