Chapter 329 - Mrs. Song

Name:Help...My Wife is a Spy Author:Yunyi
On the plane to Seoul, Jackson briefly explained what was happening with his brother and Avaleigh. "It shouldn't take me too long to track him down. After I get him on a plane back to Hong Kong, we can continue with our honeymoon like nothing happened."

Halia laughed to herself on the inside. She had just said something similar to Jackson not too long ago. Even though he had retired from Interpol, it seemed, neither of them could escape their fate. They were both selfless people that couldn't possibly turn a blind eye to those that needed help, especially when it was family.

"Oh, I've heard of Macaron before. They're really famous with the young people!" Natalie exclaimed as she started doing some weird dance move with her hands. The other three looked at her with confusion. They had been so busy fighting crime, they had no time for entertainment and celebrities.

Natalie looked at them in disbelief, "Don't tell me you don't know this dance? It was trending for ages!"

"You look like you're constipated," Halia said straightforwardly.

Natalie pouted and pinched her friend on the arm, "I'm not very coordinated, OK? The girls look super cute when they do it."

At that moment, Sean wrapped his arms around his wife and said, "I don't know what Halia's going on about, but I think you're super cute." He then planted his lips on top of hers and they started kissing affectionately.

Halia held her hand to her mouth with disgust, "Bleurp! I think I'm going to vomit."

Natalie looked at her friend and frowned. At first, she thought her friend was simply joking, but, all of a sudden, Halia stood up and actually walked off to the bathroom.

She frowned and looked at Jackson in disbelief, "Was it really that disgusting?"

Jackson laughed. Although he and Halia were a bit more conservative than Natalie and Sean, they weren't that prude.

"It might be motion sickness from the plane..." Jackson explained as he looked at the bathroom, hoping his wife didn't eat something wrong. She didn't usually get motion sickness, but she had been a bit rundown investigating the resort and Joel Gabriel Santos, so it was no surprise that she was a little unwell.

The flight to Seoul was an overnight flight with one transfer in Manila. After a quick transfer in Manila, Jackson leaned Halia's head on his shoulder, covered her with a blanket, and told her to get some sleep. "You've been working hard lately. This is supposed to be a holiday. Relax and get some sleep. When you wake up, we will be in Seoul. Don't think about anything else," he said softly as he placed a kiss on her forehead. His heart broke seeing his wife like this.

Halia buried her head into the man's neck and nodded slightly, "Yes, hubby, good night."

Jackson smiled and watched as Halia's eyes closed. He then closed his eyes as well.

By the time they woke up again, the plane was already on its descent into Seoul.

"After we land, go with Natalie and Sean to rest at the hotel first. Give me one day to deal with Emerson's matter. I will go find Avaleigh's father and get everything sorted," Jackson instructed.

Halia pouted, "Can't I come with you? I want to help."

Jackson shook his head, "You've been working too hard already. You need to rest or you'll fall ill. You don't want to ruin the honeymoon, do you?"

Halia quickly shook her head guiltily. No, that was the last thing she wanted to do. She had already caused them to change their itinerary at the last minute, the least she could do was make sure the rest of the honeymoon was enjoyable.

So, after the plane landed in Seoul, Halia went with Natalie and Sean to the hotel while Jackson headed to a cafe in Myeongdong to meet with someone.

"Hi, Mrs. Song, have you been waiting long?" he asked as he approached a middle-aged woman sitting beside the window.

The woman looked at Jackson and shook her head with a smile. "You must be Jackson. Emerson told me you needed help looking for my ex-husband," she said in Cantonese before she called for a waitress in Korean. "Order a drink first," she said as she handed Jackson a menu.

Jackson looked at the woman. If he didn't know that she was originally from Hong Kong, he would have thought she was just a typical Korean housewife. She was well-dressed, her hair was nicely set, and her Korean was perfect. It seemed, she had settled well in Korea.

"I met my ex-husband at a business event back when we were living in Hong Kong and we fell in love at first sight. I was young and naive at the time. I agreed to marry him before I even knew about his background and past, so it was bound for disaster. All I knew, at the time, was that he ran an import business between Hong Kong and Korea. After we got married, I fell pregnant with Avaleigh and stayed at home as a housewife while he continued to work. But, every now and then, he would fly back to Korea for business trips. Sometimes, he would be gone for months at a time. One time, while he was gone, I was waiting to pick Avaleigh up from school when a van pulled up and dragged me inside..." Mrs. Song took a sip of her coffee calmly like she was telling someone else's story.

"They kidnapped me...and did some unspeakable things to me..."

"While I was tied up, I heard them talking to my husband in Korean on the phone. I had been taking lessons because I wanted to help my husband with his business someday so I understood what they said. They told him to let their boss go and return to Hong Kong or they were going to have some fun with his daughter as well..."

On the day that my husband returned from overseas, they dumped me at the exit of the airport terminal as a warning.

"I realized at that moment how stupid I had been. I knew nothing about that man yet I married him and gave birth to a daughter for him. Soon after that, I filed for a divorce, changed my name, and took my daughter as far away from him as possible. It was too dangerous to continue being with him."
