Chapter 270 - I Am Your Father

Name:Help...My Wife is a Spy Author:Yunyi
By the time Danson arrived in Singapore, it was already 7pm in the evening. He never told his mother what was going on, but he did get the contact details of her private investigator and managed to get Marissa's Singapore address from him.

Of course, he arrived unannounced and Marissa had no idea he had come to look for her, so when there was a knock on the door, she walked over to open it unassumingly. When she saw the familiar man standing in the doorway, she froze in shock.

"What are you doing here?" she asked.

Danson stared at the woman in front of him. She was his first love; the first woman he had opened his heart to. Even though she took his heart and shattered it, he tried to hate her, but it only made it harder for him to forget her. When they met again, he convinced himself he was only interested in seeing her humiliate herself and fail, but he unknowingly ended up watching over her and protecting her. He went with her to events to make sure she didn't get too drunk, he kept quiet when she did things to get close to Emerson, and he returned to the PR agency to help out when he previously didn't care.

Even though he didn't want to admit it, there was no denying that he still loved her. He had always loved her.

So, without saying a word, he stepped forward, pulled the woman into his arms and kissed her deeply on the lips. He had already made the decision to fly here so he wasn't denying his feelings anymore. If worse came to worst, he would only have his heart broken again. It was no big deal; he survived it once and he could survive it again.

Marissa's heart almost exploded with emotions when the man suddenly kissed her. She didn't expect him to show up, and she didn't know why he showed up, but his kiss felt so right. Ever since she realized her feelings for this man, she had hated herself for not realizing earlier. She blamed herself for being immature and clueless; for letting the love of her life slip away when he was standing right in front of her all this time. In fact, for the past week, she had been reminiscing on her days with Danson and found herself missing him. People often said that 'you don't know what you've got until it's gone,' and in Marissa's case, it was true.

So, before she knew it, she began to kiss him back. She had almost lost him twice. The first time she lost him, she was too immature to understand her feelings. She thought she was sad because Danson had 'r.a.p.ed' her, but she was actually sad because she thought he slept with her for revenge. If she truly hated him, she wouldn't have given birth to his son. Even back then, her heart had already given her the answer, but she refused to listen. When they reunited again, she thought she was happy because she could finally get back at him. She could claim all his inheritance for herself and make him watch as she ended up with Emerson. But, when she lost him for the second time, everything was clear as day. She never loved Emerson, she only wanted to prove that she could get what everyone said she couldn't get. But, deep down, her heart had unknowingly gone to Danson. So, this time, she knew she couldn't lose him again.

"I didn't sleep with you because I was drunk or because of Emerson. I slept with you because I loved you. I've always loved you," Marissa whispered between kisses.

Danson smiled and continued to kiss the woman, "I know..."

Just as Marissa began to wonder what Danson meant by this response, a voice yelled behind the two, "Ewww! Mom, what are you doing?"

Marissa immediately stopped and turned around to look at the young boy standing in the hallway behind them. She quickly nudged Danson away and cleared her throat awkwardly, "Get back inside, dinner's about to start."

The boy glared at Danson and obediently returned inside the apartment.

At that moment, Marissa realized Danson had heard the boy call her 'Mom'. Her heart raced as she looked at him. How was she supposed to explain this?

But, before she said a word, Danson began to walk into the apartment uninvited, "Just in time, I haven't had dinner either, Mom..."

Marissa cringed at this word. That was right, she was technically still his stepmother. She then looked at him in confusion as he walked over to the dining table and made himself at home. Wasn't he going to ask her about the little boy?

Marissa's parents were also in the apartment and they were in the middle of laying dishes on the dining table when Danson walked in. They immediately recognized him. They had met at Marissa and Donald's wedding. He was Donald's son. What was he doing here?

"Danson..." Marissa's mother gasped.

"Sorry to turn up unannounced. I assume I'm welcome here, right? We're 'family', after all," Danson said.

Marissa's father glanced at Danson and then glanced at the little boy that was sitting opposite him. No one was supposed to find out about Marissa's biological son. Was Danson here to blackmail them?

He immediately forced a smile on his face, "Of course, you're welcome, I'll go grab you a bowl and chopsticks."

As everyone sat at the table and began to eat, there was an extremely awkward silence. The only sound that could be heard was an intermittent shooting sound coming from a phone in the little boy's hands.

"Daniel, put the phone away and eat first," Marissa demanded.

The boy glanced at his mother with an attitude and continued to play. In fact, he even turned the volume up in an annoyed manner. After all, he had just witnessed his mother kissing a stranger and that stranger was now joining them for dinner. He was young, but he had begun to understand what his mother was doing in Hong Kong. She had supposedly married an old man for money and she only reunited with him in Singapore now because the old man died. Was this stranger her new financial support?

Danson glared at the little boy as he ignored his mother. What an attitude!

The next second, he reached his hand across the table and grabbed the phone out of the child's hand.

Daniel looked up in surprise and his eyes met with the intimidatingly cold Danson.

"You heard your mother. Eat first," Danson said calmly.

The little boy was frightened, but still said, "Who do you think you are? Now give me back my phone."

This time, Danson did not hold back. His gaze turned dark and his voice was powerful, "I am your father...now eat!"

Everyone looked at Danson in shock.
